is there a reason your thread title changes each time the page refreshes?

If the title of this thread keeps changing, I think people will still be starting their own new threads with the lastest news/outrage/gaff/whatever. How about a permanent title of: All Trump related posts here, please.

Obviously, I am not the only one who was annoyed at the zillion 3-post threads. Most times, I think "Is it just me?" For once, it isn't!

Is it possible to auto censor "she won the popular vote" to "citizen's arrrrrest..citizen's arrrrest"? Only if we can auto censor something that is true too that is less important like Trump won more counties. She won the popular vote. As some like to post, get over it.

Virgil, I'd like to see something similar for 2012 on Obama. 2008 would be more comparable, but we were still on MSN then. I've had to deal with scads of Obama bashing threads. I'm OK with living on the other side of it for once.

What people need to get over is thinking it matters. But yes..I'm good with auto-censoring all of it! It matters to me. It may not matter to you. We both know it does not matter to winning the GE anymore than winning lots of small counties matters to winning fewer big ones.
And it might be more understandable if you were a moderate or Democrat and watched three recent Presidential candidates win the popular vote but lose the EC and thus the election. There's been concern about the EC at least on one side since about 2000 or so. So the popular vote matters to some, and if the EC is done away with it will matter more. I do not expect the EC to disappear though. It makes tracking the vote easier for the parties, so at best maybe they will try to reapportion it more often, or change it some other way. I would be surprised if it disappeared, but it would make us more of a democracy if we did so.

Interesting map on leads of both candidates across the country. The EC count is often more lopsided than the popular vote would suggest. This has been true of recent elections. IMO Romney's EC vote total did not tell the true story of how close the election was.

Circle size is proportional to the amount each county’s leading candidate is ahead. (Size of lead map)

It matters to me too. If you don't like a thread, no one is forcing you to read it. But until/unless auto censors kick in, I am going to point out every instance of fraud, of corruption, of stupidity, or bone-headedness, and every gaffe. Unlike the Obama bashers, though, I will make every effort to be truthful. No need to make up lies.

So your saying the criticism of the Donald are over done? Thought about it and disagree...If I post a criticizm of him by comment or by thread and claim something that is not true, let me know...now u might disagree with my feelings but I am careful and try to post actual facts... Actually, with the Donald, there is so much out there, no need to make anything up.. then please call me out for it but I think he is to blame himself..it is his doing that causes the posting, the thread....unless u believe in blaming the messenger...

Virgil Are you confining anti Trump threads to one single thread? Like a "free speech" zone?

is there a reason your thread title changes each time the page refreshes? Of course. It's news in real time, and that's how quickly the man screws up. We just have all the headlines in one place now rather than a new thread for each one.

"Trump whipped a Gold Star family" wasn't a funny title. In case you didn't understand that.. Don't shoot the messenger. It's the latest in predictive news technology. It's not true today. But a week from today...?

Virgil Are you confining anti Trump threads to one single thread? Like a "free speech" zone? No. It would be nice, though, if there was one "Look What Trump Screwed Up Today" thread, and one "Trump Is Awesome" thread so that there are actual discussions rather than hundreds of daily issue threads (and there will literally be hundreds by the end of the month if the current rate is maintained). But no. Create as many threads as your heart desires. Just be warned that we have in the past had "rate limiting" plugins re thread creation when the problem got too out of hand.

If I'd thought of it then, I would've. You'll have to wait until 2020.

Trump picking on the Gold Star family was the lowest point he took to proving he was unfit to be POTUS. He never served. His kids never served. He has never suffered in any way. Only a parent who has lost a child in anyway would understand the lifelong grief. I do. He can never make up for that attack on that grieving family.

Evidently when a Gold Star family gets on stage at the DNC, they cease being a Gold Star family in the eyes of 40% of Americans. I wish I could say that if a Gold Star family got on stage at the RNC, they wouldn't cease being a Gold Star family in the eyes of another 40% of Americans, but given the Democrats' post-election conduct I can't bring myself to believe that either. Gold Star families are by no means the only casualties. What you have to accept is that when somebody "untouchable" takes a bold position on US federal politics, they forfeit "untouchable" status. I don't condone it (since I don't condone mean-spirited ad hominem attacks generally), but it's the way of the world.

He didn't have to attack them. He could have ignored them. But he has proven that he can't take the least bit of criticism from anyone, even a college student who disagrees with him. On to twitter to put her down. On to twitter everyday to make a fool of himself.

He didn't have to attack them. He could have ignored them. But he has proven that he can't take the least bit of criticism from anyone, even a college student who disagrees with him. On to twitter to put her down. On to twitter everyday to make a fool of himself. He's a narcissist, and that's what narcissists do to people who offend them or promote their opponents. I don't understand the compulsion to proclaim (for lack of a better word) every unwise or immoral thing the man does. If there's an associated idea that can be discussed or debated, it makes sense to bring up a particular act, but otherwise it's just a redundant copy of any left wing newsfeed. The only responses are "What a rotten man." from his detractors, "Big deal." (or "Go Trump!") from his supporters, and silence from anyone who doesn't care. IMO, message boards are only as useful as they are facilitators of discussion. I can get news more efficiently from hundreds of places. If a thread is a news bite without an associated idea with new territory to explore, it's just clickbait. The percentage of Pres. Trump threads that fall into this category has steadily risen since July for the simple reason that everyone here knew what kind of man he is by that point. We'd cemented our opinions on his suitability as a candidate. In the past week, the rate at which no-discussion threads have been popping up has reached "ridiculous" status, reminiscent of when admin put in the rate limiter in 2012. As GEL has pointed out, there's a greater chance these pot shot threads are going to inure Americans to Pres. Trump's flaws than turn anyone against him. The MSM's assault on him was no small part of why he won the election, and pretty much the only reason he won the Republican nomination. If the spammers enthusiastic posters stuck to my "only post it if there's a fruitful new topic of conversation attached" rule, they wouldn't have that problem. In summary: We're not blind and deaf. We know what the man is doing. We know what you think about it. Save your energy for conversations that aren't over before they start.

Yeah but. They were Muslim. I think the perceived Muslim factor is a bigger deal for many who don't like Obama over his skin color. Muslims are our current Russians. Cold war versus hoped for War on Islam.

Somebody creating more than 30 threads per week, for instance. I think one poster actually got that bad in 2012. YMAM (which was still NMSNM at that point) was half NMSNM, half Drudge Report newsfeed.

Actually the one posting a thread has no control over the number of responses that a thread will get...If u check , u will see so many people have clicked on the thread..hopefully read it...but to comment on the thread..that is up to the ones who read it isn't it. Don't really understand what your complaining about...with out the threads presented, mind telling me what the purpose of this site is...
