and family......not sure what was done regarding our outgoing POTUS ...being of color and for some who felt negatively toward him and family I am sure special precautions were taken here too....
Donald Trump's Florida estate presents security challenges because of its accessibility from the water. The Secret Service has said it will deploy more than 920 agents to protect the President-elect, his kids, their spouses and his grandkids.....
I arbittrarely took a figure of $100,000 as average salary..supervisors..retirement and medical costs..not sure how overtime figures into it..and I am sure my figures are conservative too , actual net cost probably even more...but that comes to I believe over $90 million for such protection....not suggesting we should out a price tag on such things and not do we can to protect our leaders...but that is something...at least to me...

If Melania is too much of a special snowflake to move into the White House, then TRUMP should pay the million dollar a day it costs for the Secret Service to protect her at home. Why should the taxpayers be on the hook for it? It wasn't their decision, it was the decision of his Eastern Bloc bimbo wife.

Yep it's being a special snowflake to have ur kid finish out the school year..... Name any other FLOTUS who refused to move into the White House. Name any child of a president who was traumatized by moving and going to a new school. They all managed swimmingly.

The Secret Service protects the President and his family wherever they are at the time. SS protected the Bush family at the Texas ranch and his daughters at college and Nixon and Regan when they were at their CA homes. Michelle Obama, her daughters and mother were protected on the many trips they took while Barack Obama was in Washington. How is protecting Trump's family in NYC any different? The surveillance is constant for all of the families. SS secure the homes of all sitting presidents and their families.

In a thread like this, you can mention race to bring up the old "You don't like him cause he's Black" stuff; you can call a woman you don't even know a "bimbo" and pretend you know better than anyone what is good for an individual child all in one place! If it were contained to just one thread, I would actually consider it a blessing!

Dude won the election. I know u have issues with it but it's a fact jack. (Despite the recount). People that win the election get SS protection and get to generally live their lives with some exceptions. We r talking about like 4 months of school. So what if no one else has done it before? Maybe it's a first that will lead to stronger child advocacy or whatever.

I have no problem with the SS protecting the Trump clan wherever they are. And I'm hoping the righties remember all the crapola tossed at the Obamas in this regard. How tiring that every trip to Hawaii came with an invoice.
However, I do take umbrage that we can't express our opinion that someone we don't even know is a bimbo. How obvious does it need to be?

She's a gold-digger and a proven liar. 'I wrote that speech myself" "I have degrees from a university in Slovenia" (She dropped out during her first semester) And as for class? Why, every classy woman poses for some hot naked girl-on-girl action. If Michelle Obama did it, you'd be having a fit. We'd NEVER hear the end of it.

And those things make it ok for you to be xenophobic and to misogynistic? Frankly as a woman I'm offended at your comments. How is it xenophobic? Slovenia was NOT in the Eastern Bloc? And as far as misogynistic? LOL! Look at who you voted in! One of the most misogynistic assholes on earth! Too funny!

Or is it if they marry rich men? Are they bimbos if they engage in consentual sex? Or if they work for the sex industry? What is it specifically that is so obvious that makes her a bimbo in your eyes? If they marry disgusting old rich men...yes.

What is it specifically that is so obvious that makes her a bimbo in your eyes? How is it obvious? She's not "empty headed". That should be obvious. She may or not be the smartest kid on the block, but a person who is "empty headed" doesn't get to where she is - regardless of the help she got to get there. Is it because she's perceived as a "willing sex object" because of "girl on girl" naked pics? Lots of people do that. It's not like she's a hooker.
Someone expressed an "opinion" that Mrs. Obama looks like a "monkey in heels". Maybe they thought THAT was obvious, too. Both things were terrible things to say and if that's the way you think is ok to express your opinion, you shouldn't have any trouble with the things Trump says, right?

So anyone married to a 'disgusting rich man' is a bimbo in Welts eyes...there are a lot of disgusting rich men out there...you may want to rethink that criteria. I mean HRC is married to one, is she a Bimbo? lol

Gel, Why is your comment directed to me since I did not write those comments in your reply? It wasn't directed AT you, dee, but rather at your question as to why the protection of the Trumps is any different. It was directed at all the nonsense people are posting - not at you. Your question was a good one.

Yep it's being a special snowflake to have ur kid finish out the school year..... Actually in the case of a President's children, it is being a special snowflake. I don't think its ever happened since I've been a voting adult. I'm not sure how many children have been affected, but Malia I think was the same age as Barron and started school in January in DC. My guess is that's been true for the Kennedy children (1961 - 1963) and forward.
Whether stuff like this happened 30, 50 or more years ago, I don't know. As a taxpayer it makes sense to be concerned. I've read an article or two about the cost NYC has incurred protecting Trump. They want to foist those costs on the country's taxpayers. The salary Trump forgoes probably won't even cover one week's cost of security in NYC. If you complained about Obama's golf excursions, you should be complaining about this which is way more costly to the nation and might kill off a few businesses located too near Trump Tower and whatever school.

Get over it. It is pennies compared what the Feds and States pay every day to support refugees of Muslim descent who have no money, but living on the government dome here everyday. If we can spend money on them, we can spend money on the President and his family. Try going by President Obama's Chicago home. I dare you. You cannot walk on the block whether anyone is there or not. Agents all over the place, and I bet Rahmn Emanuel does not worry about Chicago police supporting the security effort too.
