A lot of finger pointing and blaming going on in Israel.

Or how bad it could get.
Israel is not going to let the terrorists get away with this.

I don't follow Israeli nor Middle East politics closely at all. The last I was reading was about Netanyahu activities which were either "reforms" or "power grabs" depending on who you believed. My sense of the man over the years has been that he does tend toward power. Hamas has certainly created a situation in which normally countries look for strong leadership. It plays right into Netanyahu's hands. Isreal needs to have a strong reaction. I just hope it doesn't lead to longer term harm to their democracy.

Or how bad it could get. Israel is not going to let the terrorists get away with this. I agree. Israel will level the Gaza Strip and take out every soul in it, if it means avenging Israelis. But it was all coming to this. There can be no peace without cooperation on both sides. Israel can keep taking land, adding settlements and trapping Palestinians behind concrete and barbed wire only for so long, without addressing the real issue: that both side belong there, and can actually live together peacefully. Palestinians can only use terror tactics and threats and throw rocks and Molotov cocktails for so long, while they die waiting for their rights to be acknowledged.
The common people on the streets on both sides mostly don't have issues with each other. But the politicians won't budge. Each side wages a world war of words to get money and weapons and build up hate for the other guys. This is not sustainable. Other Middle Eastern countries don't want to be dragged into another Yom Kippur War or see another Munich Olympic slaughter. It's a Holy Land for many and it must be shared. And I say all of this as a Jew. I support the right of the state of Israel to exist, but not at the expense of the annihilation of other people who can and should live there, too.

A guy is walking through the desert and finds a lamp. He rubs it and a genie pops out. The genie says "thanks, i will grant you a wish. " The guy says, "thought it was three." The genie answers, "times are tough. Take it or leave it. " "Okay, I don't want to be selfish. I am a devout Jew so will wish for peace in the Middle East." The genie whips out a map, hands it to the guy and says "come on dude, be reasonable. Look at that map. You got Jews in Israel, the Palestinians, plus all the other countries in the region Ask for something that is actually possible." "Well I tried not to selfish. All right, I wish for my wife to perform oral sex on me every day." The genie responds, "let me take another look at that map."
Sad this "joke" is still applicable forty years after I first heard it.

Being from a Jewish area, I know a lot of people who support Israel and very much have the view that Israel is sitting there minding its own business and they just keep getting attacks by bad guys. I try to research and figure it out - but every time I do I walk away thinking that both sides are being real assholes. Sadly, there are innocent people on both sides who are paying the price. I’m glad you gave the nod to the fact that this could work out if there was some compromise.

I feel sorry for the Palestinians but Hamas are abhorrent.
They don't want peace, they want to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth and will never stop.
You may as well support Al Qaeda.

I have a problem in any war where cowards kidnap women & children, and use them as shields. Whatever side you are on, citizens should be off limits. I've been praying for all of the hostages that have been taken. I simply cannot comprehend the horror of it all.

I am sure that woman wishes she was only robbed. Agreed. I remember when a group of terrorists got ahold of a woman member of the US military. "We abide by the Koran in our treatment of women." Bullsh*t! They only follow the Koran when they feel like it. That poor American service member was sexually assaulted by one of their "Koran-abiding" military members.

Someone mentioned this earlier. Its horrific that Trump wants to pretend Hamas isn't running amok in Israel but instead came to our southern border. How would they get there so quickly unless Trump brought them in on his Trump plane. I also read about Senator Cory Booker being in Israel during the attack. He just got home today. www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mary-trump-accuses-donald-of-giving-putin-israel-security-secrets-maniac/ar-AA1hWnpC?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=5f69391192954b78b02320eadfb4e53b&ei=10Donald Trump's estranged niece, Mary Trump, accused the former president of possibly giving Israeli security secrets to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
"This f****** maniac likely gave Putin (who gave Iran, who gave Hamas) Israel's national security secrets...," Mary Trump wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The post from Mary Trump also included a screenshot of a post from Donald Trump on TruthSocial where he responded to the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas militants saying, "The same people that raided Israel are pouring into our once beautiful USA, through our TOTALLY OPEN SOUTHERN BORDER, at Record Numbers. Are they planning an attack within our Country?

I'm not Jewish or religious but I hope Israel unleashes the wrath of God on the terrorists. Like in our Civil war, a literal Sherman's march through the South. Total destruction. Scorched earth. Give the civilians 48hr to flee to another country then flatten everything from the border to the sea. This was a blatant act of terrorism. Take the money and weapons from Ukraine and give it to Israel. They are our friend in the Middle East.
And refreeze the Iran $6 billion S. Korea was holding from the embargo years ago.

Iran cannot use a penny of the $6 billion without U.S. approval. Iran has no direct access to the money. Qatar's central bank is overseeing the funds. As for rerouting any Ukraine funds to Israel: that would be okay if we are willing to get involved in a much wider war in western Europe if Russia over runs Ukraine. You ready and willing to sacrifice your children and grandchildren fighting in WWIII? If your answer is no then you better fund Ukraine.

So 48 hours for 2.3 million people to cross into Egypt by land or leave by ship or plane to ??. (Not sure how you determine civilian from terrorist with that number and time frame.) Then completely level every structure over a 140 square mile area. Yeah.

Its not that simple.
Hamas have mates ...... ie Hezbollah in Lebanon (which is why there is a US aircraft carrier to the north of Israel) Islamic state. Iran. Qatar.
Although Egypt and the Saudis don't like them.
There is also a load more Palestinians on the West Bank in Israel.
The whole place is a tinder box.

It also completely ignores the fact that the refugee camps it would create would be the breeding grounds for the next round of violence.

And if they feel they need to go even farther than Egypt, like maybe all the way to the US, well we already know how some folks feel about people seeking refuge here. NO! Take your ass back home and deal with it. Or go anywhere, just don’t come here, no matter what horrors you are trying to get away from. Talking out of 2 sides of the same mouth…. and not even realizing how the whole of the things you say is so contradictory that you just sound stupid.

That is where NATO comes in to fight Russia. It''s in their best interest to hold Russia at bay.

You think he knows(or cares) about those details. Like most conservatives these days, it is all emotion. These are students not people creating public policy. I am more concerned with Hawley and others who apparently are OK with atrocities committed in Ukraine but not Israel.
