We have a guy at work who is our resident conspiracy theorist. He comes up with some wild stuff. He's Jewish and pro Israel. Today he said the war is going to go like this. Israel will stomp the crap out of Hamas and the Palestine people. Then they will raise the white flag surrender. And because they are a now defeated "nation", other nations will come to their aid by making up a new Marshal plan like in Europe after WWII.
Billions of dollars and materials will flow to rebuild their infrastructure, roads, buildings and housing will all be fixed. They will be better off than before the war. It''s a win win for Hamas and the Palestine people.
That is the plot of the mouse that roared. Didn't quite work out in the way they expected though

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — A four-day cease-fire between Israel and Hamas began Friday, allowing sorely needed aid to start flowing into Gaza and setting the stage for the release of dozens of hostages held by militants and Palestinians imprisoned by Israel. There were no reports of fighting in the hours after the truce began. The deal offered some relief for Gaza's 2.3 million people, who have endured weeks of Israeli bombardment and dwindling supplies of basic necessities, as well as for families in Israel worried about loved ones taken captive during Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, which triggered the war. www.yahoo.com/news/4-day-truce-begins-gaza-050217241.html

Heads will roll in Israel. What did Israel know about Hamas’ October 7 attack?Hamas’ surprise attack on October 7 left Israel flat-footed, sparking a backlash that is still rippling through the country. The operation saw at least 1,500 Hamas fighters pour across the border into Israel, in an assault that killed at least 1,200 Israelis, while others are still held hostage by the militant group. But a report from the New York Times claimed Israel obtained Hamas’ plan for the attack more than a year in advance. The report says Israeli officials dismissed the plan as aspirational, and deemed it too complex for the group to carry out. Other outlets, including Israeli newspaper Haaretz, have also reported the claim. Here’s what we know about Israel and the US’ advance knowledge of the attack. What did Israel reportedly know about the attack?Israeli officials obtained a document describing Hamas’ battle plan for its October 7 terror attack more than a year before the militant group carried out the assault, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing documents, emails and interviews. The roughly 40-page document did not give a date for the attack, but outlined “point by point” the kind of deadly incursion that Hamas carried out in Israeli territory in October, according to the Times, which reviewed the translated document. Rest of article here: What did Israel know about Hamas’ October 7 attack?

That is the plot of the mouse that roared. Didn't quite work out in the way they expected though I think that's probably partially right. There doesn't appear to be any solution at the moment and it will just play out. Any influence the US or Europe might think they have on Israel is very small. We haven't had to live with a terrorist government in our midst who has sent rockets into our territory every day for 16 years ... and they have. The footage is disturbing. Even allowing for proparganda but can it be stopped?..... the answer is, sadly no.

Used to be when I was growing up.... and not just London. The IRA planted that many bombs the authorities ran out of expletives. but that hasn't happened since the peace accords many years ago.

www.yahoo.com/news/leaked-audio-heated-meeting-reveals-143004984.htmlLeaked audio of heated meeting reveals hostages’ fury at NetanyahuYnet also reported that Netanyahu’s efforts to respond to the hostages and relatives were met with tense and angry remarks. A female abductee freed with her children – but without her husband, who remains in captivity – is heard on one recording saying: “The feeling we had there was that no one was doing anything for us. The fact is that I was in a hiding place that was shelled and we had to be smuggled out and we were wounded. That’s besides the helicopter that shot at us on the way to Gaza.” She adds: “You have no information. You have no information. The fact that we were shelled, the fact that no one knew anything about where we were… You claim that there is intelligence. But the fact is that we are being shelled. The former abductee continues: “Do you think the men are strong? My husband would beat himself every day, punch his face until it bled because it was too much for him, and now he is alone, and God knows under what conditions.”That last paragraph really hurt. I don't know if he is like a character in a recent episode of Found. He could be doing that for many reasons. But it must be a gut punch to some men in Israel thinking they could keep their families safe. It is hard to plan for something that happens quickly whether it is terrorism or a weather event that kills people.
