The source emphasized that no one suggested that Clinton wasn't running a strong race or questioned her performance.
Instead, it was an acknowledgement that the presidential race will be very close even though many Washington-based strategists and pundits on both sides of the ideological spectrum question Trump's seriousness as a candidate.

"There was concern raised about the race because we know it's going to be a close race," said the source.

A senior Senate Democratic aide who was not in the meeting acknowledged that senators have raised concerns about the closeness of the polls at other times.

I saw that.  I got a chuckle out of it too.  I don't personally know or condone any of the so-called bed-wetters though. 

Sometimes "The Hill" can be really comical.
I wonder if that was a real quote, but some of the far left wingers probably have no bladder control whatsoever

have you seen the Marist polls posted this morning.  they are telling almost the exact opposite story of the Quinnipiac polls.

this is WHY i advocate not freaking out over a single poll.

liberals are fundamentally "mushier" on issues than conservatives.  they question, doubt, and speculate a lot more.  and during times of crisis, that is seen as weakness, even though it really isn't.

Probably not, but when you compare the number of her gaffes in this campaign to the times Trump has opened his mouth when he should have kept it shut, her number pales in comparison.

The thing is, with Trump, everyone is kind of getting used to his outlandish statements. Imagine Jeb Bush or John McCain or Mitt Romney saying we need to kick all the Muslims out of the country, for instance, and imagine the shit fire storm that would set off - but when Trump says stuff like that now, it's par for the course and no longer worth a frenzy.  Like he says, he could probably shoot someone on the street and all his voters would shrug it off as the Donald just being the Donald.

I won't deny there's a double standard. People are increasingly willing to write trump's comments off as "oh, that's just Trump being Trump."

Trump only ever focuses on how he looks and feels. The thought that he could murder someone and he is so beloved by his voters that none of them would bat an eye makes him feel so warm and fuzzy.

Trump didn't coin the term of "radical Islamic terrorism".
True, the democrats have avoided using it.

I consider it acceptable to say "radical Islamic terrorism" since is very specific to whom is the perpetrator. However many conservatives just fling the "Islamic terrorism" around a bit too much and that specific term is very wrong and inapropriate.
If I'm not mistaking, Trump used it quite a few times.

I won't be surprised if this is the case if she does in fact win. I think there are states, Idaho for example, which will be close to 80% for Trump. Few if any states that Clinton wins easily will have that level of winning margin. States like Pennsylvania will be very close.
