I'm so glad to hear that the babies are doing as well as can be expected. Best of luck to the new parents, I can't imagine how much/hard their lives are going to be for a few years. My oldest DD has twin girls that thankfully have no health issues, but she is constantly on her toes.

Mine came home, but DD left again. DS is in his room playing his xbox online with his friends. So I'm more or less alone, except for the dogs who are outside for now.

I can't deal with working part time anymore. It took the CC over 2 months to disperse my loan refund. I had to live off my savings and credit card and strategically pay/not pay bills for 2 months. I realized that I can't deal with not having money. I asked about going back FT after the semester is over, and it doesn't look like there's room in the budget. So now I need to find something else internal or expand my search to outside the company. I've been doing that for the last couple of weeks. I have a phone interview Tuesday, but this job requires you to know V Lookups in Excel (which I don't know). Does anyone know a fast way to learn that? Sorry you're have a rough time, but hang in there with school. You might have to go PT or do some online classes, but the end results will be worth it in the end. I'm rooting for you.

naughtybear, I think the confusion came because the subject had changed to Chloe's offer on the MFH.

I never use the ATM, I either go to the bank to withdraw money, or I get cash back when I make a purchase. I've been on the phone for over an hour with the bank and my checking account number was not compromised, just my debit card. The thing is, is that whom ever used my debit card only left me with .62 cents in my account and I have automatic payments due today. I am in the process of calling them, but the payments are in process. Is it too early to have a drink?? The other thing I'm worried about is that my paycheck is directed deposited, and should hit my account tomorrow. I was assured by my bank that unless someone has my routing and account number that my direct deposit should be OK, it's just my debit card has been hacked. I'm holding my breath on this until the morning. FML right now.

**&^^%%$$, See my post in your money. I hate people that cause problems for others. I hope, but am not hopeful, that they catch the SOB's that do/did this type of thing. I have enough problems as it is, I don't need to be dealing with the sh--.

At 8:53 p.m. I received a call that my bank wanted to verify some charges. I checked my account and I made a purchase at a local store at 5:20 p.m., (correct). According to the charges on my debit card then I went to TX at 7:00 p.m. ($45 at Walmart) and then IL at 7:19 p.m. ($4.59). Ummm, I don’t think so, I live in FL. I called the bank’s fraud center back and they are CLOSED. So hopefully the bank has put a hold on my debit card, but I have 2 checks that may not clear if a hold is on my account. I’m also worried about my direct deposit on Thursday and have 2 online payments that will be taken out on Friday. To the bank I go tomorrow. I hate people sometimes.

I have/am BTDT so many times, if I had all the stupid tax I paid, I probably be in a much better position. Life is hard, but you are doing the best that you can under the circumstances. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue to see that light at the end of the tunnel.
That is what got me through my hard times with two kids, their activities, my school, their school, and all the road blocks that were thrown my way.
You can do this, you have come so far and will succeed.

Drama, I say go for it if you can swing the classes, time, homework and studying. It will be tough on your time, but the rewards will pay off. Costs will keep going up and time will continue to march on. We all know that you can do this and will continue to be your cheerleaders.

I don't really mind retail, I enjoy the interaction, but the last pt retail job I could not physically handle the lifting requirements. Yours sound just right up my alley.

Started my new PT job this weekend. It was good. Everyone there is nice and helpful. It's pretty laid back which I like. I think I'm going to like it there. What type of work are you doing? I'm looking for a pt position, but the only thing available are fast food or retail. No thank you.

I love the pictures and thank you for sharing your link, I can't wait to start reading it! What a great adventure for your family. The kids are at an age where they remember the trip of a life time.

That's really sad. Last spring I promised my son that I would do my best to try to move to the area where my sister lives as we really like the area. After I finished my bachelor's degree and I was assured of meeting my 20 years in my pension, I looked for months. I had 3 interviews out of hundreds of submitting my resume and looking for some place affordable to live, but had no luck.
I had to tell him that there was no way we could afford to live there unless we lived in not desirable areas. So I decided to stay put. It was hard and he understands, but still there was no way I was going to be able to pay rent on a place that was 2-3 times my mortgage and my pay would not increase nearly that much.
Some people think that if they just move to some place different they can run away from their current life, it's sad when they find out different.

I know that I asked, and am so glad to hear that everyone is OK. Poor Roggie thinking that he would only have his dad. I'm so glad that both the kids have you both. Take care and get some rest.

my sister and I have sworn by Emeril's recipe for roast birds for years now. I did that for the turkey breast yesterday and we deep fried a full bird as well. I remember you posting this last year or the year before and thought I would try it, but I forgot. I'm going to save it now and adjust it for my small turkey breast at Christmas. Thanks!!

As for the love thing I just sent my wife 2 pictures back and told her that is how I show love:
- her 403b account
- her ORP account
And I told her she is more than welcome to stop contributing 25% and go on a shopping spree. She just texted back: thank you for loving me.
So we cool! As I told her my way of showing her I love her is to make sure she will be alright while I am here and long after I am gone (dead or divorce). So I am setting her right financially and she has her own money under her own name!
Yes it is not flashy for the world to see but doesn't it feel good to have that kind of money saved up?
Carl, this is what you wrote in the parenting thread. Please rethink the car purchase. Neither you or anyone else has any idea what the future may hold when Carlie is born. Please for the love of everything, do not become encumbered with new payments. Besides of possible medical expenses, think about how hard it would be to pursue another career in a few more years. Spoken as someone who has been there, done that and doesn't like what my future holds.

Phoenix, I remember you saying awhile ago that you were facing some challenges as far as classes go and then you have been very quiet. I'm so happy for you to have taken the challenge and passed! This will be a feather in your cap and a wonderful thing for your resume.

OMG, please let the people moving in across the street not be as loud and obnoxious as they sound. I’m hoping that they are just helping the renters and not staying. If they are, it should be interesting, but not fun.
A combination of rednecks with loud trucks and VERY loud people with VERY strong NY or NJ accents that seem to love to argue.
No offense to anyone here, but I’ve had to listen to the woman one block away at 6 a.m. yelling at her kids All. Day. Long. For a couple of years now.

The kids and I went to my oldest DD's for dinner; it was nice. Everybody gets along fine, the DSIL's grandmother is a PITA so I just usually ignore her, but will answer her questions if asked unless they are too personal.
Such as why did DD's father and I divorce, why did I divorce my second EH, do I have a boyfriend/when am I getting a BF. Don't I think that DD's kids are spoiled, she doesn't make them sit down quietly (children should be seen not heard)etc.
It was nice to spend time with DD and DSIL and his family. I haven't cooked anything for the kids and I yet, maybe today. I want a turkey breast, they want ham, so I guess ham it will be. Or maybe I'll just do both. no sides since they don't like stuffing, green bean casserole, left over mashed potatoes, picky kids.

She's a good kid, just thinks mom is stupid and doesn't know anything. She has her birth certificate, insurance cards, passport, and knows that I'm not bailing her out of self-made trouble. I'm not worrying about the loss of the card, it's just if it gets into the wrong hands and the mess it can cause that makes me worry.
She doesn't seem to be upset over the loss, even though I explained what could happen. It's in her lap now. I'm done with trying to explain how the world works, even though I've been doing that for years. One day she will realize that mom does know what she's talking about on some things. ***sigh***.
Thank you everyone for your help.

We’re not sure what happened to it, but her truck was broken into a couple of months ago and the only thing that they took was cash in her wallet. She swears that her SS card, DL, debit card, student ID, etc. were in her wallet when the cops found it by a dumpster.
So now we have to figure out what to do. She’s 19 and has no credit history, so we will run credit reports and put a fraud alert with them and get a new card.
I check my bank accounts daily and have access to her accounts so I will be monitoring them closely. Anything else I need to do?

I cook mine in a cooking bag in a roasting pan. I make a rub using spices and lemon juice.
My mom used to make homemade stuffing with the gizzards and heart chopped up and put into the turkey and then put the turkey in a large brown paper bag from the grocery store.
I have never tried it that way because I cannot figure out how the bag never caught fire, my luck my kitchen would burn down.
