So what do you do if your kid is nearby for work for four days and only has time to meet for dinner once right after arrival? Well, it meant I drove to the airport yesterday, one hour because rush hour traffic, hang around at the airport for a bit because "on time" is a bit of a stretchable concept and then there is the passport control/customs area that always has long lines. Drive to restaurant and have some nice Vietnamese food, drop off said kid at his hotel and drive home - no traffic so 45 minutes. All in all I was gone for four hours and it was well worth it. I really like DS, both of them, but this happened to be DS2.

I think I use to call him “my sweetie”. I don’t remember why I started calling him Mister, it could be because of what you remember, but I kept calling him Mister even when things were fine, so I don’t mean it in a negative way. There’s been a lot going on for over a year, but we mostly operated as a team while all of that was happening. It was very stressful because of stuff with his parents during that time, but Mister and I mostly got along okay. Things didn’t really start getting tense between us until after his Dad died a couple months ago, in early September. Thank you for your support. I am glad you were able to replace the flapper on your toilet yourself. Do you know yet whether that fixed the problem? You used to call him DF. You switched to Mister when his kids started the shenanigans. Would you like me to slap him and the girls? I will. I'll channel my inner Will Smith. That is weak. I expect more from you andi9899 ! More like a Terminator lite (TL) or something - total destruction to be put off until it is clear that lite is not cutting it ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/muhaha.png) Shelter will be given for a T-notso-L who needs a hiding place after the deed.

Impeachment is the process for dealing with Supreme Court Justice misconduct. It is questionable if it could be handled any other way. At least now there is a standard they could be held to in such proceedings. But to paraphrase a well-known expression "who will judge the judges?"

The bishop he replaced had made a bunch of posts on social media saying Francis wasn't the true pope, and was traveling around the country to lead right wing protests that the local bishops didn't want. . Is he saying the election was rigged and he has proof that Francis stole the Pope-hood? ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/rofl.gif) Someone (Pope Francis?) switched the black smoke for white. And he had the fake smoker brought in by bus I'm sure.

thanks everyone for the positive thoughts I know it will go well but........I'll check in tomorrow Yes you will be fine but I do remember my total panic at that surgery. If you can have someone with you all the way until they get kicked out and keep talking about everything and anything. My BFF and I discussed vacations - the ones in the past, the future, and those we will definitely never take. Note that we have never gone on vacation together and we like very different things (think visiting the Borobodur v. going clubbing) so lots to talk about. Anything to keep your mind of the surgery. And they do sedate you so that helps a lot!

With my last donation I must have accidentally given my mojo away and I just haven't found any new one. This coming week I will try one more thing: I will set up my Xmas tree and then go through the last couple of boxes of decorations. Whatever I decide to keep will go on the tree and the rest will be donated. ... It seems like a logical plan to me. Now to see if I can find the energy to follow through.

I am flopping around and gasping for breath, like a fish out of sea. I do not feel like my feet are planted on solid ground, for the first time in my adult life. I am not as angry now, I am just really hurt. And the hurt and pain I feel, was really the root of all the anger I have been feeling and expressing since Thursday. I am frankly terrified about having to reinvent myself and start over at my age. Mostly because the local housing market is so crazy right now. My biggest concern is where Imma live. My retirement plans are shot to hell if I have to pay a mortgage or rent in retirement. That is why I bailed on the original intention of my house just being a “starter home” and I decided to make it my “forever home”, when I realized my desire and need to retire asap was more important than selling and buying another house. My goal became to not have a mortgage payment in retirement, and paying rent was never even a consideration. I feel so lost. I don’t exactly feel helpless, but I am realistic enough to know that even though I have a few options to try to help myself, it is near impossible for me to come out ahead of where I could be if I hadn’t been so foolish over the last 8 years. I am not okay. That is correct but you will be. Girl you are so far ahead of where I was at your age, yet here I am doing absolutely fine. Take a bit of time to work through the worst of your hurt and keep putting one foot in front of the other. It will be scary at times but you KNOW you can do this - you have done it before and this time you will have your hive (that would be us) to bounce any ideas off when you are in doubt. There is a very large group of people here who have your back. YOU CAN AND WILL BE OKAY!

Pink Cashmere I will start with admitting that I don't have a pet but I have an idea, which may be completely silly, regarding finding the source of Boy's hives. You mention that Boy has these bumps in the morning, then they get worse before disappearing by the evening. Have you considered the timing of this when looking for the source? It looks to me that it has to be something he is exposed to during the night but either not at all or very little during the day. Has his dog bed recently been washed? Not washed for a long time? Is his sleeping place below an open window that has a specific plant in front of it (pollen?)? Anything else that comes to mind? As a truly lazy person, formerly known as the hardest working lazy person in the world, I always try to get the shortest route to a solution and only broaden my "research" if that does not get me what I want

I am very pro-abortion. I am super excited that voters in states are putting in laws and constitutional amendments to preserve women’s rights. That said - we have to be careful about people voting to decide rights. If voting was the only determination - black people wouldn’t have the right to vote, our schools would be segregated and plenty of other totally racists policies would be okay. I have a very slightly different position: I am very pro choice whether that choice involves an abortion or not. One of the many, many problems I have with forcing a woman to carry a child is that, despite this being a first world country with supposedly the best healthcare in the world, the US has an atrocious record on infant and maternal health. So if having these babies is so important to these so-called "pro-lifers" why are they not up on the barricades demanding, and funding, that we become the safest place in the world to have a baby? Now to be fair, if that happened (fat chance) it would still not change my position that this is a choice to be made by the woman and the woman only. She may need a doctor to talk to and will need one to terminate that pregnancy but the choice should be hers and hers alone.

We routinely see patients admitted to the hospital who test positive for RSV. It can be a serious illness, especially for those with underlying heart and lung issues. It can also cause serious illness in infants. Like all vaccinations it is generally safe. It can prevent illness and hospitalizations, and also help prevent passing it on to infants. All in all, I think it is a good idea to be vaccinated if you are in a high risk group. For comparison, the shingles vaccine has been available for some time now. Few people with shingles need admission, and death is rare. Yet it is a miserable illness, and vaccination is recommended. RSV can kill people and cause hospitalization. If you get vaccinated for shingles, why wouldn't you get aN RSV vaccination Thank you

With all this talk about RSV, has anyone here gotten the vaccine and what was your experience with it? I'll get my flu and Covid shot next week and, unless this Covid booster is different from the previous ones, I fully expect to do a lot of sleeping the next day. The flu shot never did more than give me a sore/sensitive arm for a day or two so I don't think that will change much but whatever Thursday will probably be a lost day anyway. I still need to decide whether or not I will get the RSV shot since I am not so sure I need it. Maybe pulmonarymd would be willing to provide some input?

So today, I had already been warned about an employee that is transistioning from female to male that if offended and raises a ruckus anytime he is referred to as “she” and has filed several grievances with his employer over several things, including being addressed properly. Once I saw him, I felt like it is an easy mistake for people to make when talking to someone with FF size breasts. And I know that’s the size because I overheard him telling one of the other workers how he plays his Doctor complaining of back pain and said the size. I know people with large breasts do experience back pain and other issues, but this person specifically said what they were doing and showed the unnatural posture they use when they see their Doctor and complain about back pain, and said they do it every time they see their Doctor. I was not amused. He also made sure to tell all of us individually that he was transitioning. That was none of my business, and I didn’t like the vibe, especially after hearing how he “plays” his Doctor. I felt like he just likes attention period, and I wasn’t entertaining that. I wasn’t rude, but I wasn’t trying to have a conversation either. The one man that was working with us was confused and pulled me to the side and asked me whether the person was a he or she. I told him that he’d said he was transitioning from female to male, and to be very careful with the pronouns. Not 5 minutes later, the transitioning male was talking to one of the ladies working with us and the lady said ma’am, and things got tense for a minute because he said I AM NOT A MA’AM! ... Call me a suspicious bitch but I think s/he is working up to a lawsuit for a hostile work environment. At least on the surface seems to be playing work the same way he plays his doctor.

We got a hand addressed handwritten letter from a different town and return address names I didn’t recognize. Turned out it was realtors asking if we’d be willing to sell our house to their prospect. Probably best they weren’t there in person, my knee jerk answer was somewhere between “F*** no you twats” and running them out of town on a rail I have no patience for salespeople. I’m not wired that way; I am allergic to wasting people’s time. I get texts and phone calls asking to buy our house. Just for giggles, I responded to one text that the price would be $1 million. They wanted to know how I figured that price. [My house isn’t worth 1/4 of that.] Heck, if I got to go through the trouble of moving and finding another place, you better make it worth my while. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/lightbulb.gif) You are a graduate of Trump University majoring in property valuation. Who would dare doubt that

Made the dumb bitch mistake of trying to share actual feelings with DH-got the expected linear response. I really am stupid to expect better or different. And he wonders why I don't want to hear about his journeys in life, duh!

ahhh......one more day til Wed off. <ohhhhhhmmmmmmm> I was just asked if I had opened a deviation record (I'm a QA approver, I can't open them) for a deviation nobody ever told me about. I did a deep inbox search for individual keywords, and nothing came up. so, please tell me how I can open a record for something I don't know about? oh wait, you can't. and you're still all too ready to throw me under the bus for shit I can't control. Yeah, no. I was known as a pretty mellow person at work always trying to help out (contract manager) but the very rare occasions when someone tried this game on me they discovered that Dante's Circles of Hell was an unfinished work. There is indeed a tenth circle and they just landed in it. Not a single person made that same mistake twice - all while I stayed very polite BTW but I am quite capable of scaring the crap out of anyone if I feel it is necessary

trump has already gotten himself with the judge this morning while on the stand. Trump is about to lend Jack Smith and Fani Willis a helping hand: analysisAdecision by Donald Trump to appear as a witness for his own defense in the $250 million civil suit trial playing out in Judge Arthur Engoron's Manhattan courthouse could end up blowing up in the former president's face since the judge has already ruled he sees solid evidence of criminal fraud. The current proceedings are being conducted in an effort for the judge to get his arms around the financial damages the Trump Organization will have to pay for allegedly defrauding banks and insurance companies. Engoron could also ban the involved Trump family members from doing business in the state of New York Now Trump is expected to take the stand on Monday following last week's testimony by sons Don Jr. and Eric that legal experts asserted did not go well for the family. With that in mind, former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance suggested in her Substack column that Trump's decision to proceed with testifying could be a fatal error that could impact his trials in Washington D.C., Florida and Georgia. As Vance noted, the way that Trump conducts himself while being grilled on Monday will give special counsel Jack Smith and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis a roadmap to be used when they get their shot at him on the stand in their respective trial. Rest of article here: Trump is about to lend Jack Smith and Fani Willis a helping hand: analysisI’m curious about MAL. Apparently clubs have a different tax rate and valuation from private homes. MAL used to be a private home, now it’s a club, but Trump and his kids change back and forth, using whatever classification suits the current moment best. Eric got hung up on the question’is it a club or a private estate’ - I’m going to be interested to see what Dad calls it. Or does he just blame the minions. The loser, like his kids, doesn't get down to the "nitty gritty", he is too busy inspecting his golf courses while his sons pour concrete, so he may get confused Supposedly he pays his financial minnions millions to do " their job" which enables him to park his fat ass in a golf cart being all important. How DARE you suggest he is anything but an honest hard working businessman... And to think all this trouble could have just been avoided if he had just conceded his election loss. A strategic apology thrown out here and there and tere would have been grumbling but the world would have mostly moved on.

The loser has a WRITTEN plan ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yeahright.png) Of course, in Sharpie! Time to update my investment plans I don't understand why MAGA people seem to hate their country so much that they are willing to risk its continued existence in their adulation of what looks like a rabid orange baboon.

Nasty Woman, how do you like the hearing aids? I need to get some and don't know what to get. We have a Costco card In Washington and I can go up there. Any advice appreciated. I'll get back to you once I am used to it. Already I turned down my radio and, unlike before, I can hear it in the kitchen. It is all clearer now. Mind you these are not those cheapie things they advertise on tv so, despite being much cheaper than at Kaiser, they still were not cheap.

One word: stairs! You already have problems to get to your basement at times. That will NOT get better over time. No matter how nice looking this is you need a house without any stairs anywhere

We hit a low of 22 yesterday morning and 21 this morning (NETN). My brother in NH told me this morning that they hit a low of 26. When I was asked by my employer to relocate from our office in Bedford, NH to Memphis Tennessee I thought about it. This was in January, 1994. I commuted for a few weeks and noticed in January that planters with pansies were growing everywhere in the Memphis area. So winters in Memphis in January compared to New Hampshire winter temps were mild. One Friday evening flying back home to New Hampshire from Memphis I exited the airport to the airport parking area and the temperature read -32 degrees. My mind was made up: relocating to Memphis. Little did I know I was leaving a deep freeze area and moving to an area which often felt like I was living in a 500 degree oven during the summer months. I have live here for 30 years now and I still am not used to the summer temps here. Climately, I'm till a Massachusetts boy where I was born and raised. One time living here in Memphis, it was July and I picked up at the Memphis airport one of my department's managers. He was based in the San Francisco area which is mostly cool all year. The manager who was a former Roman Catholic priest, exited out of the airport, jumped in my vehicle and exclaimed, "It's hotter than the doorknobs of Hell here.". He was right. The SF Bay Area still is one of the best places to live in the world weather wise. It is also gorgeous here. Now if only it weren't so expensive and we had terra firma instead of non-firma it would be perfect! And for those of you wondering: the dikes did what they were supposed to do: kept the water in the sea. The storm was pretty bad in places and there was at least one storm related fatality in the town DSis3 lives. But all in all it was not too bad. I do wonder occasionally at what point the rising sea levels will become too much for the systems to cope with.

My migraine finally broke and I'm functioning again. Unfortunately the day is almost done and I got nothing on my list done. I suppose I'd best start and at least try to cross a couple things off. Call the list "future goals" and you can feel very accomplished/ a streber if you will by just covering one or two tasks

So I am back home and the world is quite a bit louder now. I needed hearing aids (actually since late 2019 but I was dawdling and then we were send home) and after talking to several friends I decided to go to Costco. Today these things were calibrated and, though it feels a bit itchy, I am wearing them now. There will be a follow up appointment on the 18th, the Saturday before TG!!! I will have to do some strategical planning on where to park* that day. It was a zoo when I left as expected with people blocking the driveway to get one of those elusive parking spots. I probably will end up walking a bit farther and then I will have less blocked lanes to battle.
* My appointment is first thing when they open up so I'll have plenty of choice.

Sitting in my car in the parking lot at Costco waiting for my 9:15 appointment at the audio department sipping my second cuppa (had the first one at home). Even though every day is a Saturday or Sunday for me this is still the best day. They only open up at 9 so plenty of parking and no traffic on the way in. By the time I leave there won't be any parking and it will be a zoo, but not my problem

I really need to drive more. Today for the first time in (at least) 15 years the low tire pressure sensor turned on where I actually had low tire pressure. My Versa had a sensor malfunction early on 2008, 2009?) and the witches cauldron light stayed on until I had that sensor replaced but my tire pressure was always fine. So not knowing which gas station around here actually "has" air I called my garage to check my tires out. They checked and there was nothing wrong with them -just needed air. Grand charge of $0.00 Driving home I was wondering why this had happened and then it struck me: I drive so little that there are ~18 month between oil changes. And when they do those they always include all those little checks and make sure my tires have the right pressure. I'm thinking I might want to get my manual out to see where my windshield wiper fluid goes. They always top that off too so it may be getting low. But first I have to figure out how to pop the hood as this car does not have a button to do so - at !east not one I have seen. I am quite the mechanic aren't I

if everyone got time off for school days, that would leave about 100 days a year that people could be tried. Really? Where do you get those 100 days? Who is going to watch the kids when they are not in school? Huh, huh? Don't you know that having a kid means you should never have to testify in court
