This was Buldok which I believe means "fire chicken". There are folks who think Mexican food is hot - they have never eaten Asian food. Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean - they all have peppers that make ours look like baby food. However, they are all excellent for clearing sinuses No kidding. Nam pla pikinoo (hose tiny little peppers including their seeds, cut up and steeped in fish sauce) generously added to Thai food comes to mind. At one time, living in Bangkok, I could keep up with the locals - no more. That really is a use it or lose it ability and I lost it...

Just took the dogs for their afternoon walk. TD said he took the dogs for a very long walk this morning, so I took them to the bottom of the road….about 1/2 mile down, and the same back but uphill. Kronk had to pee on everything, as usual. My post has nothing to do with the above. However, I just saw that Singapore Airlines has Black Friday deals and thought I should bring that to your attention in case the timing works and it could potentially save you some cash. If it doesn't work nothing lost. Just carry on

The mystery of Elmer was solved. Found the feather pile today. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/sad.png) Either it was a daytime coyote or the neighbors had friends over with a dog. He was right by the property line. Sorry about that.

We’ve gone from planning to hike with DD#2 today to trading in our own 38-ft fifth wheel for a 29-ft 5th wheel. 😩 Because the heater quit? Maybe it needed to be washed. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/tongue2.png) I keep telling people I will trade in Dirty Harriet before I will have her detailed

This thread had me checking out plane gliding near me. NO not about buying. Found a place across the bay that offers rides. Shame on you for putting this on my bucket list. You really should thank wannabewealthy for adding to your list. Like you I have a long bucket list which, despite crossing off items from that list, just keeps on growing. And that is good! The one thing I really don't want is one day looking at an empty page with no more to do. That would be a "might as well die" point. So I want to die with a list of things that would make sticking around for very desirable. See life as a feast where you don't need to clean all the plates on the table.

My 2023 mojo is irretrievably lost. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/tongue2.png) I just don't have it in me anymore, so on to 2024. Meanwhile I keep tossing the odd item here and there when it catches my eye. I did not get as much decluttered as I envisioned but I did make a decent head start and that will just have to do. In a few weeks I'll be on a plane to Europe looking for new energy. That should work considering that I want to move close to the (grand)kids so spending time with them will remind me why I am doing all this.

My salad was really yummie. And if the "seconds" plates of others were anything to go by so were the carrots. I only eat raw carrots so I wouldn't know but heaping second helpings are a good sign right?

I have seen the Stones live in 5 straight decades. About 10-11 times. They come…I go. That simple. And the reason? It’s only rock and roll but I like it!😎 They will be at Levi stadium again next year. Just a few miles from here but...tickets will be too expensive for my taste and I have become far more protective of my ears over the decades (still ended up with hearing aids). So I will stick to putting on a CD and turning the sound to an acceptable level*. * the only song I make a volume exception for, and it is not a Rolling Stones song, is me and Bobby McGee the Janis Joplin version. When that comes on in the car the sound gets cranked up and I have to belt along.

Hi Kids! I just got back from Target. Not by choice, but of course no one told me we were getting too low on dishwasher soap & garbage bags. You can't get through Thanksgiving weekend without a lot of both, and I'm not planning on going out on Black Friday. for future reference, Home Depot and Lowes both carry these things, and usually at better prices than Walmart/Target. if I don't need a full cart run, I'll just go to HD. it's closer for me, anyway. Costco for me - but I am all! Costco'd out for the year. Once you need to start planning your "escape route" from the parking lot, it is time to call it quits. I'll be back late January once I return from Europe. The things I need before then will be TJs or my regulsr supermarket

I am having TG dinner at a friends house and will bring two sides: 1) Cranberry spinach salad 2) Orange glazed cranberry carrots.
Last year they asked for and I brought a green bean dish (I refuse anything to do with bean goop - aka condensed soup based green bean casserole). Actually I brought two different bean dishes and they went over so well I was asked to bring a bean dish again. When I offered to bring an additional side I provided a few options with the above result - no beans after all.
Both dishes will be prepared tomorrow morning. No biggie.
Now to figure out what to wear as we will have dinner outside and it will get chilly toward the end of the dinner...

Someone talk to me about Hulu?what shows/movies do they have that are worth watching? They have a Black Friday (BF) deal of 12 months @$0.99/month and I might be interested.
I really wanted to add Britbox but their deal is $10/3 months. Nice but I'll be gone for almost two of those months so that is not going to happen?
Any other good streaming deals out there that you know of?

About a month ago, I think I mentioned being frustrated with something that happened at work. It had the potential to become a dealbreaker for me working there. Well the deal broke today. I’ll finish out the school year, but I’m resigning effective the end of the year. There’s no salvaging it. I’d have to compromise my principles to stay. And my boss has been clear that her philosophy is correct and mine is not. Hugs.

We have a guy at work who is our resident conspiracy theorist. He comes up with some wild stuff. He's Jewish and pro Israel. Today he said the war is going to go like this. Israel will stomp the crap out of Hamas and the Palestine people. Then they will raise the white flag surrender. And because they are a now defeated "nation", other nations will come to their aid by making up a new Marshal plan like in Europe after WWII.
Billions of dollars and materials will flow to rebuild their infrastructure, roads, buildings and housing will all be fixed. They will be better off than before the war. It''s a win win for Hamas and the Palestine people.
That is the plot of the mouse that roared. Didn't quite work out in the way they expected though

If balance becomes an issue for me as I age, you bet your sweet life I'll use a walker. Take a bad fall, and off to the nursing home you go. I've seen too many spend the end of their lives in nursing homes, when just maybe getting assistance at home, and actually using canes & walkers would've allowed you to stay in your own home longer. Hell, I take hiking poles on many of our excursions while on the cruise. I can walk, but when I get tired, my balance gets off and I find that I don’t move my feet in the same manner. I don’t need them at home, because I don’t push myself to those extremes. But I want to see and do as much as I can and my poles help me do it more safely. If I had these issues at home, you’d be damn sure I’d be using whatever I needed. I HAVE used them, and while they can be embarrassing, I’ll be damned if I give a fluffy rat’s ass what I think of other people’s opinion. My friend and I take walking poles on our weekly hikes. Especially now when the occasional rain can make the paths slippery locally. And anyway the narrow , somewhat rocky paths we take make the use of walking poles prudent. Neither one of us is a spring chicken and we don't want to risk one (or both) of us getting hurt and having a hard time getting help. There is nothing wrong with using tools to do a job most efficiently, so why should it be different if the "job" is called walking?

Uncle! She cried.
Today I had to turn on the heat yet it is only November. But when the indoor high of the day (I was gone most of tbe day and this is the warmest part of the day) is only 62° it is time do do something about it. I am all for saving energy but I am not going to be miserable for it - no way. With my stupid low utility bills to begin with money does not play into this decision.

For all you single bakers out here craving just a small amount of pie, you may want to look at getting "the ultimate BAKING FOR ONE cookbook by Kelly Jaggers. It has recipes for pumpkin and custard pies and much more. I've been looking for half or quarter pies the past week or so, for egg custard. I don't crave sweet very often, but that just tastes like the holidays for me. I haven't seen custard pies at all, nevermind partial ones. I might have to duck in to the pricey grocery store down near M's house. they have always had custard in all the locations I've ever shopped in. On another note, last night when I got home from work, I asked Mister if he’d made an appointment with his counselor. He said no. I said “you say there are some things we need to work out, and you need to work on you. Do you feel like you can do that without help from a professional?” He said “No. Well make the appointment then”. NO SIR! I can’t make an appointment for you, and if you mean an appointment for us to go together, I’m not interested in that at this time. My appointments (when I can get a damn appointment) are for me to work on ME. Even if I never get another appointment, I am still thinking “me” now, and not “we”. I am watching what he does, way more than I am paying any attention to what he says. And if he can’t be bothered to show me something real, or even make his own appointments, that tells me much more than his words do. For me, this is not a game, this is my fucking life. This shit will not just blow over and if he thinks I will just pretend that he hasn’t said and done the things he’s said and did, just for the sake of staying in a relationship with him, without him doing some real work to show me something different, the gold digger shit is the least of the problems, because he really must not know me at all. One thing I’ve never done, and will never do, is be good to a man that’s not good to me.

We can do it again? I still have the four from last time but may want to add to the stash with all the holidays and travelling coming up I still have my originals too. Are they any good? If you find a link, will you post it, please? I might need a direct line, to you. I enjoy your comments and insights. Mostly, I enjoy your sarcasm and wit! 😁 And your freezer could come in handy. Especially if andi9899 shows up too! 🤣🤣🤣 But I vote we get trashed, before we need bail money! You in? Of course I am in. Getting trashed is a much better use of our money than plunking it down for bail. I will look for a link to the tests but I am not sure which "original" tests you are referring to. I was talking about the ones we ordered earlier this year. At that time they send us tests past their use by dates but with a message that they are still good and (yet another) link where you can check when those tests truly expire.

They have told them self such a story that they don't want to be in the same room with me right now--well as of Friday.
My perception is exceptionally different from theirs. I can be a rude, dismissive person. However, I have not been in this case. I have --as the person's supervisor/evaluator--asked the person to work on some areas of their job description. They've decided that this is "targeting". Can you meet with a third party included to hash it out? That way if anyone is abrasive, the third party can point it out. I feel your pain. I come across as rude or intimidating when that is not my intent. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. Actually I would tell that person that they are right. This IS targeting however, not of you as a person but of certain areas of your job performance and I need you to improve them. If I were feeling very irritated by that person I would add " because those areas are severely lacking". But that is just me. It is very difficult to tick me off but if you do start running...

I can't imagine being relieved to not have to ask my husband to do something so small for my mom. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yeahthat.gif) I have been divorced for almost 20 years but if I asked xH to help my mom with something like this he would have me locked up in the loony bin - but only because mom died in 1987. If she were alive, and he lived nearby, he would help her. There is no doubt in my mind and there are good reasons for us we to be divorced.

Did you have the surgery long ago? I had both eyes done a few years back ('18, '19?) and the lenses that were implanted adjusted for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. They were not covered by insurance though as that only covered one single adjustment. I had the second one done in 2009, so some time ago. Yes that is way before mine were done. There have been great improvements in this field

DD2 lacks common sense doesn't she. Where is,the world are you supposed to put your bowling ball, which you must carry just in case there is a game you want to join, if you have a tiny(ish) purse? In your jeans pocket? I know. Right? Not only that, but whenever someone needs something, such as a bowling ball, who do they ask? Me! And do I usually have what they're looking for? Yes! Or a close substitute. One never knows when you'll be asked to substitute on a bowling league, while vacationing in the Bahamas! Or you may need a golf club unexpectedly, while out to dinner. Sheesh! 😳 It is because I, like Mary Poppins, am willing to pack this bag around on a daily basis, she only needs to carry her phone, drivers license, credit card and key fob. Which she occasionally asks me to carry in my bag. Even though she has a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old. Go ask grandma, if she has a bowling ball, you can use. 🙄 The truth is, she would just take her CC and buy a bowling ball, bag and shoes! (She does not have, nor does she want a YM card, 99.9% of the time.) 😄 No bow!ing ball in my purse but my (extended!) family acts the same way. So I got curious and stepped on the scale without purse (ouch) and with purse. My everyday load of my purse is 3.9lb. I add a half quart of water to that when my friend and I go on our weekly hike/walk. Among the less common items in my purse are a small adjustable wrench for my hiking poles, a pocket knife with several handy attachments (but not the bulky Swiss knife DS2 gifted me a few years back. Along with common handy items such as bandaids, bug wipes, tiny Altoids, etc. By now even my parents' great grandkids know that my purse probably holds whatever may be needed. Family reunion coming up in January...

I bought myself a new purse, online, a few weeks ago. DD2 has been telling me forever, I need to get a new one. I have one I like, but DD2 calls it my Mary Poppins bag. 🤣 She said I need one that a bowling ball won't fit in. Recently, I sat in the back of her new Escalade and put my purse on the seat, next to me. The car alarm kept going off, for someone not wearing their seatbelt. It was my purse. 🙄 Sadly, I don't usually have very good luck with online purchases. So I paid extra, for expedited shipping. Purse was supposed to arrive in 7-12 days. It has been 14 days and there's no sign of it. Nor can I find any tracking info, on anything that has been sent to me. So much for that expensive shipping I paid for, in hopes my order would actually arrive and in a decent amount of time. So far, my "me" purchase, is a bomb. I've always hated math, of any kind. 😕 DD2 lacks common sense doesn't she. Where is,the world are you supposed to put your bowling ball, which you must carry just in case there is a game you want to join, if you have a tiny(ish) purse? In your jeans pocket?

Hoping this surgery goes as well as the 1st one. Isn't it great to see again? I still need glasses because I have astigmatism and cataract surgery doesn't correct for that. I am not having lasik surgery until it is covered by insurance. Did you have the surgery long ago? Considering that the 14th amendment was ratified in 1868, by which time the "framers" were dead, I sincerely doubt that they spend much time considering this situation. Plus there has never been such a poor loser, liar and instigator of violence like trump to ever consider the 14th amendment before. I don't know about you but I am waiting for him to one day state that he had the right to do xyz (steal top secret papers or the like) because of "disclaimers" in the Constitution. Just like he keeps referring to in his fraud trial.

This the third of various states challenge trying to keep Trump off of states ballots and Trump won. You would think the anti Trumpers would see the light. But I'm sure they will keep on trying with some other hair brained reason. Trump has never been convicted of insuurction. I am not sure I agree with the Colorado judge's ruling. I think the framers did intend that insurrectionist could not serve as office holders. If its not to stop someone from corrupting the highest office in the US and the Constitution, who in the heck does she think it is for?! In a 102-page opinion, Denver District Court Judge Sarah Wallace found that the voters who contested Trump’s spot on state ballots proved that he incited the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol. But she concluded the US Constitution’s ban on insurrectionists holding public office wasn’t intended to cover an official who had taken the presidential oath of office and was running again for the same post.
