I was with you until the last sentence. No national politician works for people anymore. They are all owned by corporations or special interest groups. I disagree with "all". For example: Adrian Smith, R-Neb. 3rd District; 4th term 2012 re-election: 74 percent
The anonymity afforded a Mr. Smith is a boon to the Nebraska Republican, who would much rather spend his time advancing local agricultural concerns than being called on to take a position on national issues. He sponsors few bills, he has spoken on the floor for less than six minutes total during the 113th Congress and his sole national exposure was giving one of the GOP’s weekly radio addresses — in 2008. Smith got his start in local politics at 23, when he won a city council seat in Gering but kept his small-town style when he moved to the state legislature and then the House.
As co-chairman of the Congressional Rural Caucus and member of the Ways and Means Committee, he has fixed his legislative focus firmly on the effect of the tax code on rural communities and the opportunity to promote agricultural exports out of his vast western Nebraska district. link There are 435 Representatives, many are hard at work on issues important to their districts. More than 70% of Nebraska’s farmland is multi-state and international corporate owned.

I wonder if MTG mulled for a while whether George Santos also signed the Declaration of Independence too. Marjorie Taylor Greene Mocked Over Declaration of Independence GaffeRepresentative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been widely mocked on social media after claiming certain Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence when they did not. On July 5, Greene wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "The average age of the signers of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 was 44 years old, but more than a dozen were 35 or younger." She then listed eight Founding Fathers and their ages on that date. Marjorie Taylor Greene Mocked Over Declaration of Independence Gaffe

So is she saying, at fifty, she should be put out to pasture?

Well out of 8 she got 2 right.
Pretty good for someone who evidently slept through all her civics and history classes.

I love modern technology. I don't know off the top of my head who did and didn't sign various founding documents. Seems like pointless trivia to me. And I don't have to know. If I wanted to know so I could use it to make a point, I would look it up. That is what really bothers me here. Does she ignorantly assume she knows? Is she too lazy to look it up? Does she honestly believe being accurate doesn't matter? Then there are the ages. Are all of them correct? (I checked one, Burr, and it was correct) Did she know those or look them up? Just weird.

You are acting like she cares. DJ is right, she is a troll. She does this all for effect, as her followers do not care either. It is all performative; she wants to get a reaction, as they do, and the facts do not matter. It is all about feelings now. This is what the Republican party has degenerated to.

Okay, she cares about getting a reaction. So did she intentionally list 6 out of 8 non-signers? That is what got her a reaction.

Facts don't matter. It is all about the views. I doubt her voters know or care who signed it. They agree with what she posted, and they like that people reacted the way they did. That is what they want. The rest doesn't matter.
I do not think she cares whether she was correct or not. She wanted to make a point. You and I are not her audience, and her audience likes it. If Congressional districts were less secure, this would hurt her, but they are not. And given all the stupid shit she has said and done, it is clear she doesn't care what others think of her.

Sounds like you are saying "Yes" to my question: "Does she honestly believe being accurate doesn't matter?" I don't get it, but I suppose that could be true. I lean towards simple intellectual laziness.

SHE doesn’t even need to do it - she has staff. Run these posts past one of them to Google before she posts. How hard is that? Trump does the same dumb thing. He has a woman following him around with a portable printer printing off positive stories about himself for him to read, get her to glance over your word salad before posting.

I lean towards simple intellectual laziness. Considering how many of her base believe that "feelings/opinions" count just as equally if not more than quantifiable facts I am going to say yes she honestly doesn't believe that being accurate matters. She's a lazy ass who is just looking to cause drama

I really cannot imagine what is like to live in their heads. It must be exhausting to have to do that many mental gymnastics every day. Or does it get to a point where you have trained your brain that your reality IS actual reality despite all conflicting information? Kinda like with addiction after a point you aren't getting high it's just "normal" and anything else is abnormal and if you try to quit your brain will do anything it can to restore it's normal no matter how self destructive? And these people are in charge of our country.

She sees herself as a "queen bee", and she wants attention, whether or not it's based on facts.

And these people are in charge of our country. You are giving them far to much credit. They do not engage in thought like we do. They have a world view, and will only consider information that confirms it. The rest is "fake news". Anything that doesn't agree with them is ignored. They do not do introspection. They want to"own the libs" and do not feel shame, nor do they care about fakes, only feelings.

They fudge facts to fit the situation. They have zero empathy. They don’t doubt themselves and never apologize because they never do anything wrong - everyone else is always wrong. That explains Trump - but I think Marge is strictly seeking public attention to try to be famous- or infamous. I see her being on dancing with the stars in the future.

He now has stage 4 lung cancer, and according to my girls, he is regretting a lot of things he has said and done. Too little, too late. I think if by some miracle he survived, he would revert back to his normal ways.

When the convention was men were in charge of their households etc. The death of his best male friend, I think is what made him suck it up and fly right. Or at least turn to the liberal side and realize that the Bible did not anoint him king of the household. It was probably the insecure men at the time writing the Gospels and what not that slipped that in.
