the notion that Biden is the worst president ever is absurd. even among conservatives, he should rate significantly higher than, say, FDR (who many conservatives despise). in many respects, he has governed as a moderate, and very much in line with previous administrations.
we need to start being reasonable in our assessments of presidents. there is a case to be made for Trump being the worst. i actually think that point is debatable. however, the presidential survey posted above doesn't mince words. he is dead last by a mile, scoring 40% beneath his closest competitor.
ONLY the echo chamber could give you the impression that Trump was a better president than Biden is. it is objectively false.
edit: here is what i mean by it being objectively false. this is the breakdown by political affiliation:
Trump 31.38 6.66 13.96 26.76 6.97 14.21
Biden 47.69 66.88 57.00 45.52 65.44 62.04
there is not a single political affiliation that rates Trump higher. he even scores lower among REPUBLICAN historians (first column). nobody rates him below 45%, no matter how conservative they are. looking at Trump, nobody rates him ABOVE 45%. in fact, only one group rates him above 30%- Republican historians.

I've been telling everyone for the last few years that eventually the historians would catch up with me and put Trump where he rightfully belongs. Haven't I? yes. and i have said he is certainly among the bottom three, and a case could be made for him being last. i am not as up on Buchanan and other Civil War Era presidents as i should be. but i trust presidential historians to get it right, and look forward to reading the white paper, as time allows.

Marge wants Christian women to dress nice and feminine (so I guess no yoga pants or tube tops) so they don’t cause their Christian brothers to stumble. www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-wants-women-stop-tempting-christian-men-1872603So here’s the thing about Marge. Before she got into politics she had some kind of co-ownership of a gym in Georgia, and she had a series of affairs, most notably with one of the trainers. By the way, she also divorced her husband, which is something evangelicals frown on. Then she got all MAGA with Trump and donned her judgmental Christian bonnet and wants to lecture the rest of us on how to not be a sexual object because men can’t control themselves. She can fuck right off.

And now she wants Judge Engoron to be "disrobed?" What, did she not get to display enough naked pictures of Hunter Biden? Now she wants some of the judge?

In addition, the psychological toll because they knew there was nothing they could do for many. The choices they had to make to help only those they were fairly sure would make it. I have no doubt many health care workers had/have PTSD or a form of it due to the pandemic. Many got sick themselves. I do not blame any health care worker for taking stock of their lives and making the decision for themselves and/or their families to leave their chosen field. Especially when they have to deal with verbal abuse from the public and those who question medicine and science. Millions of people in other fields make the decision to change careers every day. I have nothing but respect for those who work in health care and those who make the decision to leave. i think our new cultish fervor for all things un-sciency is the thing that is going to send us spiraling backwards to Making America Grim Again. back to the days of Leave It To Beaver, Jim Crow, and single income homes. it is appalling. 'Trad wives' have blown up online since Roe v. Wade was overturned, but that's only half the storyTikTok has a question: Have trad wives gotten more popular since Roe v. Wade was overturned? It was posed by Caroline Burke, a writer and media critic, who noted that the popular account Ballerina Farm, fronted by Utah-based mother-of-eight Hannah Neeleman, had gained seven million Instagram followers since 2022. The landmark ruling on Roe v. Wade in June of that year rewound nearly 50 years of legalized abortion in the US by allowing states to make their own laws. For many, it felt like a step back in time. Burke said she always had an inkling there was a connection, but this stat solidified the theory for her. "You cannot tell me that it is accidental, that in the two years where we have lost more reproductive rights than in decades previously, all of these trad wives have been gaining insane traction online," she said in a TikTok posted in January. "Does that not blow your mind?" Generally, a trad wife is someone who lives a family life with more traditional gender roles. They are usually stay-at-home moms who spend their days cooking, cleaning, and waiting to greet their partners like a 1950s pin-up housewife. These women are largely evangelical Christians or Mormons who put God and the bible at the forefront of their decision to be subservient, or conservative women who herald their lifestyle as idyllic and tranquil. Creators including Neeleman, Estee Williams, Gwen the Milkmaid, and Rachel Joy are gaining thousands, sometimes millions of followers for their always-perfect hair and makeup, commitment to baking fresh bread for their husbands, and emphasis on motherhood. All of them either created their TikTok accounts or had the majority of their viral moments after June 2022. Neeleman is the largest with 6.9 million on TikTok, and she only had four videos on her account before June 2022, after which her account blew up. Nara Smith, the second most popular trad wife account, has gained 2.2 million followers since she set her account up in September 2022. Rest of article here: 'Trad wives' have blown up online since Roe v. Wade was overturned, but that's only half the story

Marge complaining that when civilians who were concerned about election security rioted at the Capital on J6, they were called insurrectionists, but when there were 30,000 national guardsmen who showed up for the inauguration, NO ONE complained about that ‘insurrection.” www.thedailybeast.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-compares-biden-inauguration-security-to-jan-6I feel like I have a pretty bendy brain that can usually follow most arguments (even if I don’t agree with them) but I have to say, I can’t understand this comparison at all. Civilians rioting to overthrow a lawful election are the same as soldiers brought in to keep the peace during what we want to be a peaceful exchange of power? These are the same? Hurt my brain. Ow.

And Biden ad libbed the whole part while showing the button MTG gave him when he entered. I need to go find a condensed version of last night's events, because this has piqued my interest. I made a late decision to go take in some live music, and my heart and soul are in much better shape today for having done so.

Apparently she violated a House rule on displaying election gear in the House. (That stupid MAGA ball cap).
Not that she cares about breaking rules, except when other people do it.

Greene teases move to oust Speaker Johnson over spending dealRep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is threatening a bid to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) from power over his endorsement of a bipartisan spending deal that’s expected to pass through Congress this week. Appearing on Steve Bannon’s podcast Friday morning, Greene accused Johnson of giving too much away to President Biden and Democrats in the course of the government funding negotiations and suggested she’s seriously weighing a move to file a motion to vacate the Speakership — the same procedural maneuver that toppled Johnson’s predecessor, former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). More info here: Greene teases move to oust Speaker Johnson over spending deal

She knows she can’t get rid of Johnson right now. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mike-johnson-s-house-majority-suffers-crippling-blow-after-gop-rep-announces-april-exit/ar-BB1knblfocid=hpmsn&cvid=2b286a1fe4364b56b31f56ebb0a61763&ei=7The House had another GOP member resign. That leaves the GOP majority at a sliver. Johnson can’t get anything done without courting a few Dem votes to help him. Kicking Johnson out would cause even more chaos. I think they wanted to get the spending package passed before Trump ran his big mouth and caused a government shut-down. Do it while Trump is busy whining.
They know MTG's motion isn't going anywhere. They are not stupid enough to go down that rabbit hole again.

The Borowitz Report
Mike Johnson Claims Marjorie Taylor Greene Appears in Book of RevelationWASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Widening a rift among House Republicans, Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters on Sunday that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “makes a prominent appearance” in the Bible’s most apocalyptic book. “I was in church this morning, just kind of flipping through the Bible,” Johnson said. “And as I was reading the Book of Revelation, all of a sudden I was like, ‘Holy cow, that’s Marge!’” “I usually like to leave religion out of things, but since Marjorie is ushering in the End Times I felt I had to say something,” he said. The Speaker was evasive when asked which character in the Book of Revelation mirrored the Georgia congresswoman, saying only, “She’s not the seven-headed dragon. To my knowledge Marge has only one head.” He stressed that his decision to reveal Rep. Greene’s “pivotal role” in the end of the world had “absolutely nothing” to do with her motion to vacate the Speaker’s chair. “As long as I am Speaker, the chair is already vacant,” he said. Off the rail bigly. What will she say when a major catastrophe hits Georgia, Florida or Texas? Marjorie Taylor Greene's 'Repent' Earthquake Tweet Shakes Up InternetGeorgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) shook up the internet on Friday by suggesting the earthquake in New York and Monday’s pending eclipse were messages from God to repent. The Georgia Republican took to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday and suggested that there was a higher meaning behind the natural phenomena. She even dropped the G-word in her post. “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent,” she wrote. “Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens.” Although God was unavailable for comment (probably because he’s focused on picking winners for the NCAA Tournament), folks on social media offered their own takes on Greene’s tweet. Of course, one person noted that God may indeed be sending a message, considering how close the quake came to former President Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club.
