I've been enjoying carbs lately. Especially baked-goods carbs. In an effort to get more veggies into my diet, I'm going to make a veggie stew and a zucchini pie today. I also have a box of Royal Riviera pears set to be delivered this week. Over the weekend, I think my only fruits and veggies were the apples in the apple cinnamon coffee cake I made, and the last of a bag of frozen peas that I threw into the risotto.

Hi all. I'm back from a week-long road trip, and gained a couple pounds as a result. I started out good, but the food choices in the last half were heavy on the carbs and fast food. I'm glad to be home and back on a regular schedule.
Have a great week!

Quick check in
Well I lowered my yearly step goal by 25,000 and am not sure I will hit this goal.
I am hoping this is the week I get back on track.
Goals 1. Average 30 ounces of water. I have been doing very poorly on drinking water. Last week's average was below 25. 2. 40,000 steps 3. No eating after 9:00 PM

I like to avoid posting here because I'm having such a hard time with my body. So, here I am! Forcing myself to acknowledge that I do exist. Still lots of binge eating. Only exercising once or twice per week. Super good at making excuses.

Reading everyone's posts makes me feel like I'm not the only one struggling with consistency. So thanks all!
My last bright idea to lose weight did not catch on, so I’m trying something new. I always say I’m going to eat well, track calories, etc. and then start exercising. I’m turning that plan around and starting with exercise. Shooting for 5 days a week for at least 30 min. Starting simple with some housework today, then walking the rest of this week. And since I know how much walking it takes to burn off a couple cookies or a big bag of chips… I’m going to work on moderate food choices, portion control, and getting in 80oz of water a day.

Well, this week I'm back to exercising an hour per day. That scale wasn't budging, so I'm working harder to make it move. No way do I want to look "pleasantly plump" in those wedding pictures. The scale finally moved in the right direction, and I'm praying my knees don't betray me.

Count me in with having difficulties, which is why I haven't been posting here. I've been eating off plan (ie carbs!) due to stress and have been snubbing exercise. I've walked on the treadmill once in longer than I care to admit.

Yeah, I haven't updated here because there is nothing to update. I haven't exercised in probably a month now. Too much stuff to do all the time. Fortunately, my weight has been stable, though I'd like it to go down.
My holiday hold off weigh in was this morning, so I at least have some motivation to get back to doing something. I'm battling lots of aches and pains lately, but I can at least work on my diet + water.

I’m still struggling with sleep, and not sticking to my sleep hygiene plan at all!
Skipping dinner for a long bath I’ve been dreaming about for a week or more….
Usually look up and then suddenly it’s 2am and I have a 9 am meeting and just need to throw things around and climb in bed….sometimes still not sleeping at 3:30/4…….
If I lay in bed more than an hour, I’ll get up and do dinner! ☺️
In my defense, lots of work days have been ending in the 7-9 pm range, having dinner at 10:30/11, and then that schedule Carrie’s over to weekend…
Hopefully the epsom salts can help me turn that tide!

Just a quick check in. Hit step goal last week and water goal last week. That is about it. Weight crept up due to overindulging this past weekend.
Goals this week:
1. Average 31 ounces of water per day. 2. 50,000 steps. 3. No eating after 9:00 PM.

Time to get back on track after all the junk over the long weekend. Going to attempt a sorry of fast, water and bone broth for a couple of days. Luckily I have enough bones for a couple of batches this week.

Another plan that did not pan out. Exercising 5x per week? Nope. Moderate food choices? Ha, another nope. Really just gave myself "permission" to keep eating like a teenager while still not exercising. Sigh. I'm now looking into taking advantage of some services through my employer. Does anyone have experience with MOBE?
Onward and upward!

Not much to say. Hit water goal last week.

Want to get back to at least my pre Covid body. Put on weight and lost physical abilities during the pandemic, especially the first year. No working scale at home, so that does slow me down just a little.

My weight is uncomfortably up from being sick, taking Prednisone, and holiday food in general. Time to reel it back in.

Update:
7/6/23 145.2 7/14 /23 145.4 8/1/23 144.2 8/28/23 144.6 9/30/23 147.2 10/13/23 144.4 10/23/23 146.0 11/3/23 145.4 11/13/23 145.2 12/5/23 143.4
At least in regard to weight, it is good that I am a stress starver rather than a stress eater. I do tend to increase my wine consumption when stressed, so there's that. I am now home after a month of dealing with an out-of-town family emergency. I'll soon be returning to deal with more of the fallout. Thank goodness I am not gaining weight on top of all the rest of it.

I'm down 4 pounds now, but it's a fight all the way. I'm still exercising an hour a day, and watching the scale fall 2 ounces at a time. Good thing I'm not a quitter. I can't recall if I mentioned this here, but over the months we'd noticed that DS was walking a bit funny, so I got an appointment to find out what was going on. Apparently DS, like a lot of other folks, spent too much time sitting during the pandemic, resulting in weakened joints, including hip & ankle. So, I've been doing the exercises with him to strengthen those joints, and it seems to be doing me some good too. The therapist did mention that they've been seeing a lot of this problem in retired folks, but anyone can get this if they spend too much time sitting. A good lesson for all of us, I guess.

Hugs seriousthistime and to your DS busymom . I resumed my floor exercises and stretches, increased water consumption and have been cutting down the late-night snacking. Weight is down 3.2 pounds. I am attending an NFL game next month, and I'd like to feel and look better.

Weight is staying steady and I know I need to move more. I also hate how it is redistributing and need to get back to wearing my belly support garments.

My weight isn't coming off as quickly as I would like, but it's definitely redistributing. You can see it, and I can feel it in how my clothes fit. Weird how that works.

I weighed myself tonight for the first time in forever. And I was pleasantly surprised with the results. My physical activity has been much lower than I like, but I did spend 6 days in a northern, cold rainy city to visit my parents. So I was stuck inside for most of my trip.
one nice thing about our current location is that it was sunny and 65° here today. So I DID get outside today. And it was glorious.

Good job, flamingo! I am down 6 pounds since Nov. 28. More importantly, I'm feeling less bloated. My lungs are still recuperating from being sick for a few weeks, so I'm holding off on the treadmill for a few more days. Someone gave me some homemade cookies earlier this week. I tried one bite so I could genuinely tell them they tasted good and gave the rest to DH to take to work. I also stocked up on low carb vegetables and have been incorporating them into suppers. Baby steps.

The scale continues to go the right direction. I've still been focusing on water intake, as it's so dry this time of year, and I've been doing well at late night snacking avoidance. Last night I walked on the treadmill for the first time in months. Feeling better day by day.

Weight is still stagnant, despite not making healthy choices while on a work trip this week, so I will consider it a win. I did do a lot of walking on the trip.
Started a fast last night to get back on track. Aiming for 24 hours, and guzzling water. Should make some bone broth now that I am back home.

Just under 10 gone in 2 1/2 weeks. My shirts are getting loose again. And I can tell my mood is better the next day after cardio.

Working on getting back on the wagon. I hadn't been exercising at all since we obtained the "damn dog". (We've got lots of nicknames for her like that.) Got back to a little running this past week. Food choices have been bad as well, so getting back to slightly better there. I think I need to start a stretching routine--that might make me feel better.
Sounds like some of you have been plugging along--great job!
