July 6 -- 145.2 July 14 -- 145.4
Up 0.2 pounds.
I have not been as diligent about my water intake. That will be the focus for this next week.
After weaning off a sleep medication and trying a new one, I am finally sleeping well, more nights than not.

Today's Tuesday, and I'm not weighing in until Friday. We're on a road trip. I had aspirations of working out at the hotels, but the three-hour time change has not been as easy for me to deal with as I thought it would be. I'm trying to be conscious of what I'm eating, but I'm certainly not being completely healthy.

Just a quick hello. My weight stayed about the same.
Steps were down. I have decided to prioritize sleep over getting in steps.
Stil need to improve sleep and water intake.

Did a real workout yesterday in the hotel fitness center. Had salad with salmon for dinner. But...also had ice cream. Heading home today.

Looks like I put on 3to 4 pounds with our week-long vacation. I’ve started a Sweat program. I’d used the app/program a few years ago. I do like it. I didn’t renew it in March 2022 because we were moving and I was in the middle of my doctoral program. Here’s to getting back in shape!

I feel like a broken record. Not enough steps water or sleep. On the plus side no increase in weight.
Hoping for a better week.

Good morning! Here's to another week. My weight this morning was 164.8lbs. That's still up a couple pounds from the beginning of our traveling vacation. I have worked out consistently since last Tuesday--goodness knows my body is sore as evidence. I was quite proud of myself that I didn't buy a bag of chocolates at Costco yesterday. I'm only having one cup of coffee each day, and I'm only having wine every other or every third day. I am having pretty serious body image issues. My clothes stopped fitting a few months ago, and I've had to purchase more clothes. That's not helping with my body image issues, but it is motivating me to reverse my 20 to 25lb weight gain over the last year. Last Monday - Sunday, I did not wear my watch Monday or Saturday. I had 62,665 steps for the week.

Monday morning check-in. 164.0 is my current weight. Over the course of the week, it'd dropped into the 162.XX range. I had a lot of bread over the weekend though and not nearly enough vegetables. I did well with exercising. I worked out on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I didn't wear my watch every day, but the amount of steps for the days I did wear were ~26k. Not keeping a bag of chocolates in the house is a good choice.

I am gradually increasing my exercise time, but not seeing the results I'd like on the scale. I hope all of that fat is turning into heavier muscle...

Since my schedule changed to interfere with weighing in on Mondays, especially with vacations, I've been forgetting to come here and update. I've also gained back a few pounds. I'm heading back in the right direction now, at least. Looking forward to a more relaxing rest of the summer.
Have a great week!

Friday night I returned from vacation a few pounds up and have already lost those. It seemed like we ate a lot but staying in a VRBO helped with preparing healthy breakfasts and snacks. Balancing out calories with a ton of walking helped, too. The majority of the food I ate was seafood and veggies so that helped. That being said, it is time to focus on the next 30-pound loss. We've got this, everyone!

Check in
The good news for the month is I did not fall farther behind on number of steps.
Still need to work on getting more sleep, drinking more water and find ways to curb stress eating.

July 6 -- 145.2 July 14 -- 145.4
My weight bounced around, up and down, in the interim. I had a quick trip to San Francisco, walked a 5K "race" and ate really well. Enjoyed much pizza when I got home.
August 1 -- 144.2

One of the things I keep track of in my nutrition journal are monthly weigh-ins listed on page one. I lost 5.4 pounds from July 1 to August 1. I still haven't gotten down to where I was before the 2022 holidays, but at least I can see that number around the corner. One thing that helps me, (well actually two things), is keeping not good for me food out of the house. DH has some things out in the garage, but I am mostly good at the out of sight out of mind deal. The other thing that helps is stocking up on low carb produce. Yesterday's grocery pickup included celery, blueberries, strawberries, romaine mix, romaine leaves, a broccoli crown, portobello mushrooms, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumber, and one each avocado and lime. I bought carrots, radishes and a few apples and oranges for DH, and two potatoes for Thursday's slow cooker corned beef. The romaine mix will be supper side salads, and I'll use the leaves for lunch wraps. The lime? For my low carb cocktails of course.

My birthday is on Thursday, so we're eating ALL the treats in this house Seriously, we have enough cake for army and it's just the 2 of us. DH was like "No need to skimp on cake!" haha. I'm trying to keep up on my exercise, but I'm not going to even think about weighing in until later next week, haha. And my work travel picks up in 2 weeks, so now I'm back to thinking about how to make healthy choices while on the road.

Not my best week. Not my worst. Water intake up a bit from dismal prior week, however still needs much improvement.
Steps came up short. Oh well new week.
Sleep can always use improvement.
Weight doing okay

I got my days mixed up. I'll have to wait until next Monday to do a weigh-in that "counts". This morning the scale said 164.0 -- same as last Monday.

Water intake up a bit. Still not where it needs to be. Had trouble sleeping a few nights. Steps were lower than I would like. Weight up a bit.
This week's goals: 1. No eating after 9:00 PM 2. Work on increasing water intake. 3. No fast food for breakfast. This means getting up on time. 4. 50,000 steps.

This morning's weight is 162.5 lbs. That's down 1.5 since July 1st. It's definitely been a bouncing number, but it's not been lower than 160 in a few months. Goals for this week: working out four days tracking calories (because I cannot seem to control myself at work!) lots of water, partially because we're surpassing 100ºF all week 55, 000 steps by the end of Sunday

Knee Deep in Water Chloe, thanks for checking on me All in all, I'm doing well. My working out hasn't been as intense as usual. In part b/c of this awful triple digit heat. In part b/c I had a strained groin muscle that I was babying all summer. BUT that's mostly healed, so I'm trying to get back to it. Except, work travel starts in earnest this week. I did pack workout clothes and sneakers so hopefully I can at least hit my 10k steps per day goal most of the days. And find all the Panera's (or similar places) to eat some salads while traveling. Overall, though, I'm feeling optimistic right now.

Starting to get back on track after reaching a high of 210 lbs. Down to 204 this morning, by just watching diet. Need to move more.
Doing well with water. My large Yeti holds 34oz, so I make sure that I have a full one drunk by 10am, noon, and 2pm. After that is filler.
Hope everyone is well.

I keep forgetting to weigh myself. I do weigh-ins first thing in the morning before anything passes my lips. Once I've had coffee, I don't weigh in. I'll try to remember tomorrow. I'm not expecting a good outcome. Aside from diet, I should work out more. I think I am losing stamina, although I can walk a 5K without training for it, so it's not too bad. daisylu, that is some impressive water intake. Getting enough water has always been a problem for me. After a day I haven't had enough water, I tend to get nasty leg cramps that night. Of course, I think about it just before bed, which is not a time to start drinking a lot of water. I also stopped taking magnesium supplements for leg cramps. As a result, my GI function has improved. I've also cut way back on wine, which has further improved my digestion. And my sleep. I do tend to take a LONG time to fall asleep, but now that I'm retired, I don't have to be anywhere the next morning so I can sleep in if needed. BTW, 'sleeping in' is waking up anytime after 8 a.m.

My weight was dropping really well this week, until Saturday. Now I'm up slightly this Monday. I've got to quit drinking. It's doing my body no good. Still training for an 8k race in a few weeks. I feel it a bit in my knees. I also did a kettlebell workout. I do feel like I'm in decent shape right now. Just need to clean up my diet. Oh, and stretch a lot more. I think that will help, too.
Have a great week, all!

Knee Deep in Water Chloe , thank you for asking! I just looked and I'm down just 0.8 pound this month. Similar to Lizard Queen , I've got to quit, or at least slow down, on the drinking. Respect to you, Lizard Queen and seriousthistime, for participating in marathons! Excellent job on the water intake, daisylu . flamingo been there done that with a pulled groin muscle. Ouch. I go in for my annual checkup tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

Iggy aka IG, thank you, but I really don't deserve respect for doing a marathon! The best I've ever done is a half marathon, when I injured my knee. Since then it's been 10Ks (6.2 miles), 5 miles, 3.9 miles, and 5Ks (3.1 miles). And all but the half marathon have been walking. When I sign up, I need to make sure I can do the distance in the time limit. Still, for someone who was not athletic and never participated in sports of any kind, it has been something I take a slight bit of pride in and I am grateful that I can still do these events.
