The only question I have, moon/Laura, are we giving him the finger, or is he giving us the finger?

I've only seen Trumpers whining. Why can't we have different political views and still be friends? Because you voted against all of our own best interests. We're all going to have to go through 4 years of hell because you hate people who aren't like you. He can't bring down grocery and gas prices. Trump supporters are indeed racists and fascists. You're a prime example. Yes why can't we be friends, oh I know why everyone who disagrees with you is racist. Democrats are against the best interest of the people. I hope Trump tears the govt all the way down and rebuilds. Justice dept, Dept of education, EPA, way too many regulations out there. You can't really be that stupid. I hope you get absolutely everything you voted for.

This is the one group, I am willing to give a pass. Not on voting for Trump, that's just asinine, especially if you KNOW he will be worse. However, I don't really fault the ones that couldn't vote for her, and instead voted for Stein, or just didn't vote. While I don't agree with the premise that not voting her would have any constructive outcome for their cause, I get it. The Democratic party's stance on the war in Gaza was a real hurdle for me this election. From an electoral standpoint, they may have made the right decision in the aggregate, but my god, did they fail from a moral standpoint.personally, I recognize that I don't understand enough about that area of the world to form an opinion that would cause me to vote one way or another. (NOTE - I am not seeking a discussion on that, here.) that said, there's enough other things awful about the Republican party's platform/vocalized plans and goals that I find abhorrent. so for me, the decision was easy regardless of this particular point. There was never a viable choice, so at the end of the day, my vote was always going to be with the Democrats. I just can't hold much animus for a group that was dismissed the way those communities were by the party. Frankly both parties in this country have us in a chokehold of fearing the other side and I hate it. I would love to see the Democratic party shift further left, but I fear they will go in the opposite direction after 2024. And I hate knowing that even when they do, I will likely still be left voting for them as they still won't be as horrid as the alternative. I'm sure I have a line somewhere, where I simply can't vote for them anymore, but I can't say I know where that is in this moment. I do think a vote as punishment was always misguided and doomed to fail. That's just not how our two party system works, and the Democratic party is going to do the exact opposite of what you want them to in response.

Seeing as my kid just started working for the EPA (albeit at the state level), Elon's talk of slashing all these programs is concerning. I just read something this morning on another board that makes me feel a bit better on that front.

The election brought out a bunch of melt down whiners from the left. I'm not talking to family who supported Trump I just cant! He cannot bring down the price of gas or groceries All Trumps supporters are racist fascits I'm not going to watch the news I'm going to keep my head in pillow Whaaaa Whaaaa Whaaaa....This is starting to be better than when he beat Hillary. The real reason people are upset is that the world they want to live in is not the world everyone else wants to live in and not they are in control. LOL. Punctuation is your friend. It reads as if those are your own complaints. Maybe you are projecting?

And important read concerning this issue: “Impoundment Power” refers to the ability of the President or the Executive Branch to withhold congressionally appropriated funds from their intended use. While President Trump argues this ability is “long-recognized” and “undisputed," Congress has taken definitive steps to limit presidential impoundment authority in the past, especially through the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974. President Trump has argued this restriction of executive authority is unconstitutional and has vowed to challenge Congress’s limits on presidential impoundment authority in the courts. link

If everyone blocks her, we will never see her trolling again. And if you don't want to block her, just don't quote her because we who do have her blocked see her posts when-someone quotes her. Instead, tag her in a new post and reply to her there. Then do it. It is amazing if you don't like what someone is saying just block them. Real grown up. No wonder there is so much meltdown right now if people can't disagree with a poster. "SAFE SPACES EVERYONE" Get back under your bridge.

Aside from being a personal sleaze, Matt Gaetz may be the least qualified of any attorney general we've had. He was sworn into the bar in 2008. In 2010 he ran for a seat in the Florida state legislature and won. He's been in politics ever since.
A little more than two years in the practice of law.

The post made is seem like he needed to be a lawyer to be a congressman. There are several congressmen that is not qualified for the position but yet they were voted it. I think there are better picks for an attorney general than Gaetz. He's about in the same line as Garland he will do what he is told.

There is an old saying that seems appropriate for some here: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool...."

And who cares about any member of the House and Senate who have no law practice, if they are not nominated to be the AG?

Well remember, most of the members of Congress have never been to medical school, yet they're making medical decisions about women's bodies.

That's because they stayed at a Holiday Inn Express! They stay at the Four Seasons when the taxpayers are paying. Four Seasons Total Landscaping when they need to get important news out to the public.

Well, we do have a generally highly-educated and highly-paid workforce, at least in the populated areas. And fortunately, there are enough people in Seattle and western Washington to outweigh the more rural parts of the state. I am surprised we are the only one though. That's depressing.
