I will have to shoot myself if he is head of the FDA. I personally know the current FDA director, did some training under him and my wife worked for him. He is quite concerned about the damage that RFK Jr could do

Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. One sexual predator nominating another. If there was any doubt about what he wants the Justice Department to do, this removes all doubt Yup. Matt will probably be arranging to bring underage girls to the White House for parties. DC is going to be "the Swamp" once again. That guy should be in jail too.

It seems to have become a requisite skill to be put in a position of power

My Mom worked for a dentist many years ago, who was old enough to remember when city water had no fluoride, and people had more cavities.

They should really drop the idea that they're the best Christians. Maybe the best heathens would be a better description.

Not to be an asshole, but if you even give it one second of thought, who is easier to track down and round up? Family oriented folks with jobs and ties to communities, probably with children in schools, or random criminals?
Just the dumbest people.

This post gave me the first good laugh I've had since the election. Can you imagine one of those misogynists posting their horrible threats to women, and suddenly this happens:

Now trump is talking about building mental hospitals and putting people in them. Only problem with that as many do need help, is I think they would end up gulags where political prisoners are kept. Must be paying back the private prison industry for their help. Keep in mind right now in the popular vote the difference is only about 1.1 million. We had a lower overall voter turnout, likely purging that was done or people didn't like either candidate but they should have voted could have made a difference.
The secretary of defense is a joke. Apparently he was court martialed for killing people that didn't need to be shot when on active duty from the guard. He was courtmartialed and given a dishonorable discharge. Apparently trump reversed it, gave him his rank back and now this. A damn fox news guy. I bet that is really riling up a bunch of the military out there. I dread what havoc he will bring to our military.
And the dog shooter, I believe now is over homeland security.
He has scraped below the bottom of the barrel. At least Tim Scott is out. I remember when he was with HCA and got millions paid out of Medicare dishonestly, he should have been jailed.
From what I read no back ground checks on people, no wonder none of them pass what my son has to, to be and stay employed with the DOD.

Likely this is what got confused: In 2019, Hegseth urged Trump to pardon U.S. service members who had been accused of war crimes. He advocated for the servicemen’s cases on his show and online, interviewing relatives on Fox News. He posted on social media that pardons from Trump “would be amazing,” and added hashtags with the names of those accused to reporting mentioning his private lobbying of the then-president.
The effort was successful, with Trump that year pardoning a former U.S. Army commando set to stand trial in the killing of a suspected Afghan bomb-maker, as well as a former Army lieutenant convicted of murder for ordering his men to fire upon three Afghans, killing two. Trump also ordered a promotion for a decorated Navy SEAL convicted of posing with a dead Islamic State captive in Iraq.

...........
In 2019, during Trump's first term in office, Hegseth used his platform on Fox News, as well as private phone calls with the president, to convince Trump to exonerate two Army officers accused of murder while serving in Afghanistan and lessen the punishment of Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher. Gallagher was convicted of posing for a photograph with the corpse of an ISIS prisoner, though he was acquitted of fatally stabbing the wounded detainee.
One of the soldiers, 1st Lt. Clint Lorance, was found guilty in a 2013 court-martial of second-degree murder, making false statements and other charges after he ordered his platoon to fire on three Afghan men on a motorcycle. He was later pardoned by Trump. The other soldier, Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, was charged with murder after killing a suspected, unarmed Taliban bombmaker, later burning his body. Golsteyn also received a Trump presidential pardon.
Meanwhile, while serving in the D.C. National Guard, Hegseth was among at least a dozen guardsmen pulled from the mission to secure the Capitol in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack.
In his book, he claims he was removed for having a Jerusalem Cross cross tattoo. But he also has a Deus vult cross tattoo – a symbol rooted in the First Crusade, where it served as a rallying cry in Christian battles against Muslims and Jews. Hegseth also has the words "Deus Vult" -- the phrase is Latin for "God wills it" -- inked on his biceps near the cross.
Today, the words and symbol, especially taken together, have largely been co-opted by neo-Nazi and far-right groups, frequently surfacing in extremist protests, including the violent 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

So when has Trump ever played fair? I'll wait... I think Trump's campaign must have targeted the Hispanic community to flip votes. Whatever was done worked as Hillary Clinton got 67 and 62% of that vote in 2016, but Trump ended up with 54/52% roughly this year (men/women, forget how the split went).

60% of Latino women voted for Harris.
Trump's #'s did increase with Latino men. They were more in line with the white women voted at 54% for Trump.

Read an article last night about some Arab Americans in Dearborn MI. They voted for Trump because they were mad at Harris. They are regretting their choice according to the article. One of the comments in the article was something like all Harris had to do was stop the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. It amazes me that so many Americans seem to forget that other countries are in charge and while we can suggest to Israel what we'd prefer they have a strong tendency to do whatever they want. We have even less influence on Hamas and Lebanon.

Well to do people don’t want to have to see those ratty homeless tents, better to drop kick them to a holding pen in the shitty part of town. Call them mental health facilities so it doesn’t seem so bad on paper. A chunk of the mentally ill are vets with PTSD, but we know how Trump feels about those losers - and won’t people love him when he gets all the crazy people off the streets.

She is just here to gloat and stir up shit now. No real desire to have a real conversation. I hope that is simple enough for her to understand, and there are no grammatical or spelling errors. If everyone blocks her, we will never see her trolling again. And if you don't want to block her, just don't quote her because we who do have her blocked see her posts when-someone quotes her. Instead, tag her in a new post and reply to her there. Then do it. It is amazing if you don't like what someone is saying just block them. Real grown up. No wonder there is so much meltdown right now if people can't disagree with a poster. "SAFE SPACES EVERYONE"

The election brought out a bunch of melt down whiners from the left. I'm not talking to family who supported Trump I just cant! He cannot bring down the price of gas or groceries All Trumps supporters are racist fascits I'm not going to watch the news I'm going to keep my head in pillow Whaaaa Whaaaa Whaaaa....This is starting to be better than when he beat Hillary. The real reason people are upset is that the world they want to live in is not the world everyone else wants to live in and not they are in control. I've only seen Trumpers whining. Why can't we have different political views and still be friends? Because you voted against all of our own best interests. We're all going to have to go through 4 years of hell because you hate people who aren't like you. He can't bring down grocery and gas prices. Trump supporters are indeed racists and fascists. You're a prime example. Yes why can't we be friends, oh I know why everyone who disagrees with you is racist. Democrats are against the best interest of the people. I hope Trump tears the govt all the way down and rebuilds. Justice dept, Dept of education, EPA, way too many regulations out there.

This is the one group, I am willing to give a pass. Not on voting for Trump, that's just asinine, especially if you KNOW he will be worse. However, I don't really fault the ones that couldn't vote for her, and instead voted for Stein, or just didn't vote. While I don't agree with the premise that not voting her would have any constructive outcome for their cause, I get it. The Democratic party's stance on the war in Gaza was a real hurdle for me this election. From an electoral standpoint, they may have made the right decision in the aggregate, but my god, did they fail from a moral standpoint.

(NOTE - I am not seeking a discussion on that, here.) that said, there's enough other things awful about the Republican party's platform/vocalized plans and goals that I find abhorrent. so for me, the decision was easy regardless of this particular point.
