Like most things, the theory of it is better than the reality. And when the reality hits, a whole bunch of "I didn't expect it to affect me" will be said and I'll be here with popcorn and a cocktail. may it all hit quickly. I saw a quote this morning - "Trump supporters getting mad that Democrats are saying 'I hope you get what you voted for,' is evidence that policy has nothing to do with how they voted."

They will just say it is the Democrats’ fault. There are still people who think the Democrats are at fault for Kevin McCarthy being booted from the speaker position. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

As they say, "you can't fix stupid". Unfortunately, we will also be caught up in the mess they created.

My deepest wish for the next four years, is that the bulk of his supporters are not spared the brunt of his policy decisions. It will be a glimmer of solace in the shit show to come.

Just force people to move to these areas. Shouldn't be a problem to resurrect slavery. Trump is going to talk a good game. The will deport just enough people to make it seem like they are doing something, but not enough to hurt his rich corporate buddies. Plenty of people live where the plants are. It's mayo land in Nebraska and Iowa. Nobody wants to do them because the pay sucks and the risk of getting mutilated/killed are pretty damn high. The companies aren't hiring illegals out of some liberal ideal of giving people jobs. They hire illegals because they know illegal immigrants won't report how they are treated and can't risk quitting. A JBS plant in Nebraska recently got busted for having 10 year old children working on the kill floor. How many of these white conservative parents are going to sign their kids up to work a kill floor?

That' why you force brown and black people to move. White people are too valuable to do that type of job. If you kill off some children as well, at least they are no longer a future criminal/s

Kinda defeats the purpose of chasing them out of town back to where they came from if more are brought in.

Not to mention all those environment and OSHA regulations they are going to expect the plants to follow now which will also jack up prices.

I'm especially looking forward to the increased price of produce since the vast majority of the pickers are migrant workers. Also, the local dairy farms are all staffed by Guatamalans. I have no idea if they are here legally or not. All I know is the Trump loving redneck boys aren't lining up to milk cows. So you don't care if someone is here illegally as long as you get your cheap produce and chicken.

The inevitable inflation can be used against the repo-cons during the 2026 midterms. Someone very articulate, think Pete B., should be able to make some commercials on top of Trump’s 2024 claim that he will be bringing prices down.

If there regulations getting in the way of corporate profits, just get rid of them. Problem solved.

They aren’t eligible for social, services. Like it or not, our agricultural system requires illegal immigrants. I’ve worked in the criminal justice field for about 30years. It’s mot the illegals that scare me, it’s the homegrown ones.

Exactly. The 'thuglicans don't want them here but we NEED them - which is something they refuse to see or understand. So your good with illegals because you say "we need them" for cheap labor. With that mindset the thuglicans is not the republicans rather the democrats. Yes I ment to spell it that way I'm good with human beings who overcome hardships to improve their lives.

Yes I ment to spell it that way I'm saying that if trump deports all of them like he's threatening, our food prices are really going to go through the roof because we both know 99% of us aren't willing to do the jobs they do. So yes, from that standpoint, I'm good with them and actually *appreciate* them. More than you can say.

With that mindset the thuglicans is not the republicans rather the democrats. Yes I ment to spell it that way Didn't you vote fir Trump for cheap gas and groceries? How are you going to get cheap groceries if you deport all the illegals? Americans aren't exactly lining up to do these jobs. You'd have to make it worth it. Which would mean raising prices to make up for now having to pay an actual wage instead of per fruit picked and cover the increased costs for safety because I'm guessing most of us like keeping our limbs. I'm fine if you want to deport everyone but it's going to fly in the face of everything else you want. I'm also fine paying higher prices so people do take the jobs. Are you Republicans ready? Like it or not our economy depends on an underpaid lower class doing what we refuse to do. How exactly are you going to make Anericans do those jobs AND do them in a way that gets you those cheap groceries you desire?

With that mindset the thuglicans is not the republicans rather the democrats. Yes I ment to spell it that way Give it a break. You know that these individuals do a job no one else will do. So the choice is accept that, or have someone legal do it. You, who have harped on inflation, should tell us what YOU think the solution should be. BTW, the simplest way to stop illegal immigration is to enforce labor laws and heavily fine the corporations who employ them. Where was this in the Republican platform or talking points. We need to enforce these laws. We also need to either have a guest worker program or raise wages enough that US citizens will do them. But that would cause prices to rise and inflation to accelerate. Then we get to have people like you complain about prices. You would prefer to insult people instead of looking for real solutions
