but TX is pro-life! how is this a thing?? for real, this is obscene, and these children will become fodder for the likes of Alex Jones as did the child victims at Sandy Hook.

Does anybody think if it happens in Texas, to Texas children, that they might start to take it seriously? Nah, me neither.

Thoughts and prayers. 20 dead 1st and second graders up here didn't move them. Alex Jones called it a hoax and them all crisis actors. Maybe that was what went on in Texas. A hoax with crisis actors!
When we finally love our children more than we love our guns something will be done. We apparently haven't sacrificed enough children yet.

I don’t understand how this happened? Texas must have the highest number of guns per capita and therefore must be the safest place in the planet.
Yet we have another tragedy, 14 kids and 1 teacher, 18 year old male shooter who is now dead, not what, 10 days post Buffalo? How stupid are we that we sit around with our heads up our asses while these tragedies keep continuing? We can get safety rules requiring car seats for kids, we can require kids get vaccines before they go to school, but can’t get shit done to stop these tragedies.

Is it again too early to talk about sensible controls of who can have guns? Or does the lack of the mention of school shootings in the Constitution mean these kids are just collateral damage which we should accept to protect our sacred "freedoms"?

Never the right time. And even if we could decide what the right time is, another shooting will occur which will reset the clock. So, nothing can be done. Guess we just have to accept the sacrifice on the altar of "freedom".

It makes me sad, that I'm just not even surprised anymore. This has become such a regular occurrence in America, that I just think "oh another mass shooting" and then go on with my day. I know many other people do this too, because there is nothing at all we can do about it (I already vote in favor of gun restrictions), other than pray it doesn't happen to us.
Nothing is going to change because GUNS! So this won't even be the last time.

Sadly Americans have a love for guns. No amount of legislation, common sense, training can stop these tragedies. What to do?

It only matters if it's YOUR kid... and everyone knows this will never happen to "My Kid" because:
1.) We live in a "safe neighborhood" 2.) No one we know would do this 3.) This is something that happens else where (where the people are way worse than they are here! or fill in the blank for the kind of people who do this kind of stuff: ________________________________) 4.) __________________________________________________________________ (what's your reason why gun violence won't happen in your community?)

Well as one former pro-gun rights poster once said we take our chances when we leave our homes. What a way to live.

The age of the children that are not accounted for are around 10 years old. So at this point they think 4th graders might be among the dead.

How is dental insurance in Texas - hey it was at least a theory thrown out as a reason for the shooting of 10 Black people in Buffalo. There is that whole goose/gander thing...
And notwithstanding the snark I posted above these killings (ALL OF THEM) break my heart

I have exercised my right to own guns before. And I’ve always taken my responsibilities in doing so very seriously.
And the way guns are used to murder innocent men, women and children, still breaks my heart. It upsets me just as much as it upsets a person that has personally never wanted anything to do with guns. I actually thought I was afraid of guns, until my child and my home were threatened and I wanted to be able to defend us if the threat was acted on. And that is when I realized I was really afraid of careless/irresponsible/criminal people with guns.
Anyway, my point is that people who appreciate the right to bear guns can be, and often are, on the same side as people who hate guns period, when it comes to gun related crimes and murdering innocent adults and children.

Authorities have recovered an AR-15-style rifle and numerous magazines, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News.

All you all gun owners need to start saying something: you need to start brainstorming ways to restrict gun ownership (like if you don't retest and renew your license every some reasonable period of time - your guns can be confiscated if you break some other law) . You need to suck it up and pay more for your insurance (and proof of that insurance should be part of buying a gun). You all need to do some protests of your own AGAINST gun violence. Words and no action are just as bad as "thoughts and prayers". Gun violence ISN"T non-gun owners problem. It's gun owners problem. Maybe all you "responsible" gun owners need to take back the gun ownership narrative... (from guns are a god given right. Real men use and own guns. guns are for protection from other people. guns are necessary to protect one's property. ) Maybe all you "responsible" gun owners need to step up and own the gun violence problem, too. It members of a group YOU belong to. Shouldn't you have a say Cause as far as I can tell - you lost the narrative a LONG time ago. And interesting thought - we allow children to be taken away from their parents - when the parents are crappy people. But, hey they can keep their guns...

Updated body count: 18 students and 3 adults are dead. I don't know how many are in hospitals in critical condition. Fuck thought and prayers! Is there really someone out there who thinks it is too early to talk about actual action and can look in the mirror without being ashamed of themselves

Because it's a crime scene, those poor kids will remain where they fell possibly even overnight.

And now we do it again.

Just try talking to some of the members of Congress about this....I have...I don't contribute enough to any campaigns for them to listen to me. If you can figure out a way to make them listen, to make them see the light...I'm all for it. I just get canned response/aka form letters that don't solve the problem and they don't care what I think or say. And I live in a deep red state and yes, we own guns...several...both long guns & hand guns.

And I live in a deep red state and yes, we own guns...several...both long guns & hand guns. you need more people. You need to get a whole lotta gun owners together and on the same page. You need to get media coverage. You need to convince politicians that this something you all care about and that finding a solution to gun violence isn't a liberal thing (haha sorry wittle liberals - got a problem boo hoo!). You need to let everyone know exactly what responsible gun owners think about this and maybe come up with some possible solutions. That's how it works. Cause as of today - I'm going to be asking every one I know who owns a gun - what they are doing about gun violence in America. And if they can't answer that right off the top of their head... then I'm gonna say - "Good to know you are ok with mass shootings in America - and I bet when children die - you smile just a little....Freedom! America!!" FWIW: I'm not saying take away everyone's guns.... I'm pretty sure there's some sort of reasonable way to deal with this.

I also don't understand why some crazy guy had to kill a passenger in the subway he didn't even interact with.
