I'm going to see what the Black Friday sales offer before finalizing the neighbors' holiday gifts.  I'm switching up my original idea a bit and going with beer, wine, handcrafted beer opener, and Ahava goodies like bath salts, bath gel, and body lotion - one big basket for both of them.

Back from the doctor's as of a couple of hours ago. She prescribed an antibiotic, a steriod and Tussionex (yeah!) Now the only problem is the doctor ordered the scrips from my mail order pharmacy which would take days. THey're in the process of reversing and going to a brick-and-mortart but it will take some time. So I wait and cough . . .

She took a Covid+ test and it turns out I have the flu, type A. That's what I get for putting off getting the shot.

Apparently L is into decorating the yard and talked my dad into setting it up.

We are over here across the street peeking out the window and giggling because that is so not my dad.

The inside of the house always looks like Christmas exploded this time of year but my dad has never been a lawn ornament guy.

I told DH we have to up our game. He was not amused.

Walmart just started theirs today. If you order online make sure you refine the retailer to Walmart. They let anybody sell stuff on their site.

Wow, my doctor just called to let me know I also have RSV. Good grief. That does explain some things, though. I don't know if I've ever had it. DS had it as a baby--one leg would collapse when he was toddling around. But he got over it quickly. Do I sound like I'm in denial?

This is a good question.

I'm not ready for my history/existence prior to marriage to be just gone.

I also don't think mom should die alone. I don't think anyone, should, if it can be helped.

I had a few coworkers that died alone. One meant the world to me. The other was just not a great person and burned all of their bridges within a year of being on the job. No one liked the second coworker. And, they went through a lot of stuff. It was just too bad all around. When the second coworker died, I said to someone "I hope they didn't die alone. No one deserves that." My colleague seemed surprised that I would say such a thing.

Mostly I get it out here so that I can let go and move along.

At the end of the day, I know everything will rise/turn, etc like it should no matter what happens this week.

Someone just posted on our neighborhood FB page about two small pigs running around.  Yep, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs for sure    I'm howling because one of the first fun things I experienced as association president was meeting Oliver, a lovely pot-bellied pig who missed his family when they went to work and school and busted out of his yard.  Our security patrol quickly learned that Oliver would happily follow their car back home if they had graham crackers, and they would shove his chubby porcine backside through the fence and hem him in with concrete blocks.

Good advice, notagain. I think what I'll do is spread out the effort to finish on Thursday a.m. instead of Wednesday afternoon. I'll do chex mix tomorrow, rest, then pies on Wednesday and rest before the cake on Thursday. We'll go to DSis's early afternoon, maybe 1:00 or so. Need to load up the car on Thursday night for the early morning drive Friday to set up.

I just can't with tale-spinners.  The folks who tell one story today and another tomorrow and somehow expect you won't pick up on the difference.  I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier of life, or the most highly educated, but I do have a good memory.  And social media lets you look back and go, "Yes, they did say ABC yesterday" while they are saying XYZ today.  

It takes way too much energy to try to keep up with folks like that so I just don't.
