it's been noticed that the "what are you doing?" thread isn't here for some reason. I'm going to look into that, maybe needing some help from moon/Laura as to what happened to it. I honestly wonder if we hit the limit on what PB can support in a single thread. in the meantime, please pick up where you left off, here. if I can resurrect the old thread, I'll merge this one into it. -chiver mod ETA - confirmed, the old thread is gone. sorry, all. we're starting over here.

Thanks Chiver was just looking for it myself. I woke up today to discover that I had one of the gas burners on low overnight. The lentil pasta I make gets put on low after the boil, but usually I catch that by an hour after I've made pasta. Serious cleaning needed on my glass saucepan.

I think the thread got nuked. but that's the thing - how? even when a mod deletes things, like a name-calling post, for instance - it doesn't go away completely. we've got archives that only we can access. I don't see a trace of it, anywhere.

so, back on topic. TGIF! I'm trying to wrap up some work this morning, and pack an overnight bag to head into the city. tonight, we drink for the kids. it's a wine and whiskey tasting event, with silent and live auction items, to benefit Make-a-Wish Foundation. I booked a room at the hotel that's hosting the event, because nobody's driving after a boozy night. it will be great to catch up with the friend that's going with me, I haven't seen her in person since the last time this event happened in 2019.

So was I gira. Where can we chat and vent?
Toddler is at day care today. Hopefully he gets to stay all day. Grandma says she is lonely without him.
So I will do some online genealogy research while the parents work on whatever work they are doing.

Thanks, Chiver! It's been a crazy week. I got home from SC Monday, have been to the dentist and the doctor for my annual physical, had a couple of church Zoom meetings, went out to the church to be there while the new sound system was installed and FINALLY got the handyman in late yesterday to check out my 3 maintenance issues. Parts have to be ordered, of course, but at least we've started. BF and I will head for Omaha after lunch and attend part of the Berkshire-Hathaway meeting tomorrow. I've been there before so no mad urge to be there when it starts with the company movie at 7:30 AM. Good thing- we're staying in West Omaha (hotels get scarce and expensive) and we have to drive 15 minutes to a hotel that has a shuttle downtown. BF just wants a change of scenery and is looking forward to a lunch from Dairy Queen (a Berkshire company) in the exhibit hall. They'll have good prices on Justin boots but I'm not buying unless I find something I can't live without. I have 3 pairs of very good boots (2 Lucchese and the Justins I bought at a previous meeting 10+ years ago) so I'm not feeling compelled to buy anything. We'll explore the around Lincoln (where he has family roots) before heading home.

I think it was me. I wrote a post and it didn't take. Then I couldn't get the thread back. It's probably in my computer going around and around in the ether.

No pampered chef Athena?
I redeemed a free coffee this morning at Dunkin. Stopped by the grocery store and picked up small tortillas to make my own wake up wrap.
I'm trying very hard to eat at home. I booked my trip to Myrtle for my cousin's baby shower and yikes on rental cars. Lots of travel upcoming so I'm trying to cut back on mindless eating out because I didn't have a plan. And I need to empty the chest freezer before we get the new beef order.
I need to do laundry and get some fresh vegetables. No other plans until tonight's baseball game. I scored seats 3 rows behind our dugout.

I'll check them out but frankly I don't need anything in the kitchen. I'm a minimalist- some good knives (and I have those) take the place of choppers, dicers, shrimp deveiners, etc. OTOH, I just got a "surprise" deposit from SS for $217 this morning. I have no idea why. Maybe it's some sort of adjustment for the change I made to collect on my own record - first revised payment was in March. Ooh, free money! (Minus, of course, taxes on 85% of it. )

Yes. I was writing the next post and the thread disappeared. Moon is going to kill me. you're okay. non-mods don't have the ability to nuke threads you didn't start. I'm not sure if you can nuke your own thread, but I know you weren't the OP for the original.

I was reading posts in there and it wouldn't show me the last one. I went out and when I tried to go back in it wouldn't open.

I'm picking up enchilada plates for lunch. It's a fundraiser for a local man that was in the hospital and nursing homes for over five hundred days before he was able to come home, due to covid.

Bummer about the thread. I've been trying to piece together a journal of sorts through old posts, but hadn't made it through that one. Oh well.
I think I lost my wallet for real yesterday. I lose everything...all the time. But usually find it back pretty quickly. But I can't find that thing anywhere. I locked my cards. The grocery store said it hadn't been turned in. Thing is I biked all over yesterday. To and from both kids schools twice, to my parents and back with an extra loop in there. I don't even usually carry my wallet when I'm biking, but I'm pretty sure I was yesterday for some reason. I really hope it turns up.
