Listening to trees being cut. They started with the one on the side of the house. It's in the same corner as my office, but the guy is so high in the air that I can't see him. The one smack in the middle of the yard is the biggest one. I'll have a front row seat to that show as it's directly in front of my desk. I will probably have to take the twins out front on leashes later so they can potty.

P*ssed off at manager for choosing to announce late yesterday that our slides for a huge presentation scheduled for Wednesday have to be completely overhauled and I have until Monday to complete. If I put off enough of a stink he will do them for me, but I have to present them so not a fan of that option.

ugh, Cookies Galore that must have been a big mess, too. thankfully, I was standing right there when it tipped over. the floor could have been WAY worse. just started the 2nd dishwasher load, and will be starting on scrubbing the cabinets soon. I was able to escape today's "training" session after about 45min, but that was still about a half hour longer than it needed to be. I was starting to feel like a broken record with the "there's an SOP for that. ask your boss when it comes up" ETA - at least my background noise for the next couple hours is good stuff. Angels and Demons started at 11, on AMC, if anyone else is interested.

Reading an article on the health disparities between rural and urban America, and how more adults in rural areas are dying from cardiovascular disease. The study suggests that we should expand health care coverage and curb poverty in rural areas. 1) I wonder how researchers can do suggest findings with a straight face.
2) All I have to my rural counterparts: Sucks to be you. Consequences are a bitch. And Just remember, you think health care is a privilege. I'm glad you are willing to die to have the privilege of not having health care.

I feel like I am very stupid at the moment.
Colorado moved from the Pac 12 to the Big 12. Sports is on ESPN +. So I signed up for a year in August.
This morning I received an offer from Sirius for 6 months free of ESPN +. So I redeemed it, thinking I was paying monthly for ESPN +. Account shows no payments for a couple of years. Interesting I am able to watch it.
Called credit card company to cancel recurring payment. Get told there is no recurring payment and when I paid for the year in August.
Call ESPN +. I signed up using two different emails but with the same credit card. Agent put in a request to refund the unused portion of the annual subscription. So we will see what happens. He also told me that ESPN+ is not a stand alone app. You have to have a television provider to use it.
He thinks You Tube tv will be good enough as the other ESPN channels are on it.
I just wish Dish wasn't making me stay on this contract until July.

anyone want to clean my kitchen for me? I just threw my hands in the air and left myself a mess for this morning, after a grease spill. I blocked the pups out of that area of the kitchen overnight, but I just didn't have it in me to clean up that after all the bullshit with the work handover. so I went to bed instead. basically, I was pouring grease from having cooked ground beef for the pups, from the mug where I'd collected it while cooking....into a ziploc bag for disposal. it was one of those "set and stand" ones that you can puff out and set it on a counter and it will stay upright on its own. I use these all the time, for exactly this function, and have never had a problem.....until yesterday. the stupid bag tipped over and poured out grease all down the front of that cabinet, and INTO the cabinet and utensil drawer above it, and then onto the floor. the dishwasher is already running, and I'll have another load ready to go once it's done. I'll be gloving up and cleaning up the mess while listening to calls I don't care about this morning. I'm supposed to go away this weekend (to a friend's place in CT for a house party) and my parents are coming to hang out with the pups. I had been planning to pack while listening to those calls, but I guess I'll be getting a later start to CT than originally planned. It doesn’t help you now, but I keep those plastic butter tubs for this very thing. My mom keeps coffee cans to collect the grease. It then goes in the freezer. Once it's full, you just throw it out with the trash. You could also put aluminum foil in the coffee cup you use and once it's solid you can wrap it up and throw the foil out. We do the same thing with old pickle jars. I have also poured it into a dish, and when hardened just scraped it into the garbage.
