DH threw his back out and is being pissy with me this morning. So my plans for today are going to include all the errands I can think of outside the house, so he and his attitude can have some alone time. I also do need to go to the mall to find some sort of lightweight long sleeve black shirt for an upcoming work event. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised, but my experience is that when I need something specific, I can never find it. Order on Amazon

I am November also! Ditto. The 18th. Me too. There's a joke around here that you can always tell when the big blizzards were based on how many babies were born 9 months later.

Jim Jordan’s doppelgänger was seated behind us at a late lunch. I had a serious double take.

Contemplating an updated wfh wardrobe. This place is heavy camera time for meetings and I'll go up to the office a bit. More importantly is updating my office background. I really want shelves with plants. Lots and lots of plants and full spectrum lights. How about this for plants? link

well, I did a drive-by of finnime's festival and couldn't get anywhere near it. parking was a nightmare. so I kept driving to where finnime's festival was last weekend in the next town over, and discovered a live band at a smaller thing set up by the Lions Club. the singer was from mooch's old band, but I didn't recognize the other two. they sounded decent. the pups stretched out in the grass and we hung out for a little while before heading back home.

Had a good day with hubs today so far. We went to the city and I bought some clothes for grandson, stuff up there sells out so fast. Also they are from Pennys and TJ Maxx so can't be returned up there if they don't fit. I found some slim, skinny pants, bought a 10 and 12, soo will see how that goes Adjustable waist also. He is like his dad was a beanpole. I had too get him 9, 11, 13 and one store in town sold them Shultz and its long gone.
We are getting ready for tonight, well 4:30 in the little town north of us at their old school turned into a community building for them.
I will clean in here tomorrow as we don't need to be at the airport till 5 or so and hubs is taking my suitcase base, so easy peasy. AND I have a mask for this trip back, still need a book, almost read all of mine.

Care to explain how the soft sided carrier makes a difference? I have the same problem with Michi, I have to chase him all over the house to get him in the carrier. I will switch to a soft sided one if that makes it easier to get him in. For me the difference is the soft sided carrier unzips at the top, so I can pick him up and just set him straight down into the carrier and zip it shut. With the hard carrier it was impossible to get him in through the side entrance, and if I took the top off to put him in from the top he would escape while I was trying to get the top back on. My two cats are surprisingly easy to get in their hard sided carriers. Neither wants to get out at the vet's office. The carrier I use opens at the top, so the vet opens the top and gets them out. If all he is doing is shots, he does the exam with Amelia in the carrier and also the vaccine. This carrier came with the cats when I adopted them.

I'm feeling my "over-40" age today. I've been standing on top of a sturdy kitchen chair trying to dust the gap area between my kitchen cabinets & the ceiling. Amazing how much dust can accumulate there. I should be "playing" outside in this nice weather, but paperwork duty has gotten me behind on housework, so I do what I can.

After fixing breakfast I cleaned the bathrooms, made out the weekly menus, and did some bookkeeping stuff and laundry. I'll mop the floors in the morning and maybe work in the yard for a bit in the afternoon.
Monday I want to swing by the storage locker for our Halloween decorations

Who told me it was a good idea to invite a friend from the Meetup group for dinner at my house tonight?
I've been doing the pizza dough, the salsa, dessert and cleaning the house since noon.
She has been asking me to come visit Michi and meet Tina for months.
I enjoy visitors but it's so much work. We'll, at least my house is clean and it smell of homemade pizza in here.
Shell arrive around six. I have to find my energy to clean the kitchen, take out the garbage and take a shower before then.

Guess who spent some hours today, throwing away a bunch of crap in the garage and getting a bunch of other crap off the floor, to make room put a stupid air compressor in a spot where it won’t get run over? Hint….. not me.
It turns out that it apparently fits perfectly between the 2 pieces of the shelving stuff I bought in early 2020, to try to keep things organized in the garage. That is against the back wall of the garage. But a lot of crap had to be dealt with to put it there. And he mounted the hose part on the wall above it, between the shelving stuff that’s attached to that wall.
I am sure that there is still more that can be done in the garage, but I am still considering it a win. He still has a big car speaker that he didn’t know where else to move it to. I suggested the storage room (knowing that it is stuffed) and he said he’s going to take everything out of the storage room and go through it and organize it and throw all the unnecessary stuff away, but not today. I’m not holding my breath.
I am excited to see the garage that may still be more cluttered than I prefer, but less than it has been.
So what I have learned again, or really what has been reinforced again, is that when I can figure out how to make things that really bug me, become an issue for him that he has to deal it, he is more likely to at least somewhat resolve the issue.
That won’t work for every situation of course, but it is something I will keep in mind.
I will keep my car in the driveway for a couple of weeks, then I will put her back in the garage, since I no longer have to worry about running over the air compressor, in addition to all the other crap that may or may not still be on “my“ side of the garage. Once I see what’s what, if it’s still too much stuff on “my” side of the garage, I will see if I can move some of it to “his” side.
On a side note, he definitely can see dirt and crap, he just chooses to ignore it. That was proven the first day I parked my car in the driveway. When he left his car in the driveway at first that evening, I was in the garage and me being me, because the space was empty and it was bugging me, I swept up all the debris that had been under and around my car. When he came outside a little while later, he asked “Did you sweep this side of the garage”, and I was like ummmm….. yeah. So he clearly noticed the difference, immediately.
Anyway, I am glad he finally at least started cleaning up the garage.

Hera sucks to get into a carrier, no matter what kind it is. Althooooough, I did trick her last night and got her right in. She was so pissed at me when she realized it. She was on top of the recliner, I shoved the carrier on one side to block any escape and my hand on the other side. Then used said hand to shove her in and Voila! One pissed off piece of work. They have a soft carrier that I probably should retire because it's been around for about 20 years and been pawed/clawed so the screening is getting a little shot. DH did a repair job some years ago but if Hera keeps up with staying alive, I need something she can't claw the crap out of. Her new med showed up today. I'll report back on if I got it anywhere near her ear tonight. it really does make it look so simple but as the vet's office found out yesterday, she SPESHUL. So simple for a normal cat is hell on earth for this one.

Tell him that anything that belongs to him that is inside that boundary line gets thrown out.

The calico we had was a vet visit terror. They had “straight-jacket” written on the outside of her file.

I hadn't eaten yet, so now I'm enjoying a fresh baguette, OKA cheese and pate.
I went shopping, and ran into a snappily dressed black man. Cashmere coat, nice silk scarf and a fedora. However, he smelled terrible! I shared the bus shelter with him, and had to leave, as the scent was overpowering. How do you tell somebody they really, really need deodorant?

Since I have very few visitors, I keep the plastic carrier on the floor by the kitchen counter. Amelia can't get her fat rear end up there without scratching the cabinets, but she doesn't scratch the cabinets if she jumps on the carrier first.
She is totally quiet in the car. Both going to the vet and coming home to the vet. Maddow makes his anger at being in the car loud and clear. I do not make any extra stops with him in the car.
I have been known to go to my drive thru coffee shop with Amelia in the car because she doesn't make a sound. I won't considerit with Maddow.
I put the carrier on the island usually the night before we are going to the vet. They stick to me like glue in the morning, so it's easy to pick them up and get the door shut.
When I had cats that played chase, I would shut the door to all the rooms except the bathroom. Once the cat went in to the bathroom, I closed that door and it did not open until the cat was in the carrier. I can't catch a cat this is under the bed and going from side to side. They can play the game for hours and I will not be able to catch them.

I made it on time!
Everything is ready. I showered and took out the garbage.
I'm rethinking how much of a social life I want to have.
With prior job I was working from home 4 days a week and I craved social activities.
With this job I go in the office 3 days a week. I'm thinking planning one day during the weekend for social activities and one to stay home, clean , do laundry, grocery shopping and relax

I'm in the process of changing computers. I've had my new computer for nearly a year. I prefer my old computer's key board and scroll bar. I just realized I didn't have YMAM book marked. I also copied my word processing documents that are continually update to this computer. Now, maybe I will be all set. I sure do not want to get away from home and realize I don't have everything. So far, so good.

But I guess I’d have to move my car back into the garage first, to reclaim “my” side of the garage. I will see this evening what is what as far as the state of the garage and what he got done today, and go from there.

The only thing that works with Michi is chasing him around until I can throw a blanket on him. Then jump on him quickly and put him in the carrier. It's a huge hassle. I don't think a soft sided carrier would make any difference. He's very perceptive and the moment he sees a carrier he starts running

I napped. It was good I didn't nap for hours. But, I'm still out of it, and I should still get some stuff done.
