Oh I love it! What an adorable 1920s house! It has been very well maintained. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this house. Can I have the giraffe room? I can see myself living in that alcove with my books. How would the twins be with 3 cats?

I just cooked 2 bratwurst with some sauerkraut, nothing anyone else here will eat. I bought the wurst from the meat market I found and it's awesome. What I could get down home was nothing but grissly stuff, this is tender and delicious. I'm sure its made locally somewhere here. I will get half a dozen or so and freeze them, sooooo good.

I used google docs for a bit for my financial spreadsheets. It was fairly easy to do most stuff, calculations and functions converted over pretty well. But there were just a few things that I couldn’t get to work, fancy graphs and stuff. But I am Excel geek. I should be alright then. I don't use graphs for my checkbook at all. is there a limit on tabs? it's the same file I've had since I joined WIRR in 2008. one tab per calendar year, and then the WIRR paydown tab. I don’t know about a tab limit-the one I’ve worked with had maybe 6-8 years??

Ok, so this is weird. Our neighborhood hospital is a part of a large medical corporation, which owns a lot of clinics & hospitals in our area. I just found out, at DS's doctor appointment today, that they have hired Quest to handle all of their lab work. In fact, Quest will be working inside their buildings. I'm familiar with Quest, having lived "down South" for a time, but there they had their own small buildings & labs. Is this becoming a thing, for the outsourcing of lab work? Maybe it's cheaper for the hospitals than hiring their own lab techs, but the cynic in me is thinking the system (no, I'm not picking on Quest) is going to see more mistakes. What do you think? It took Quest (California) 13 days to report the results of my last lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.). I didn't like that it's nearly impossible to call and actually speak with someone. After spending 28 minutes on hold, I finally spoke to someone (on Day 11 of the wait) who said "we're backed up and it can take 8-10 days to get results." When I pointed out it was Day 11, there was silence. Anyway, I get my labs done at Quest for insurance reasons. But their online portal and customer service (aside from chat bots) seems to be nonexistent. Hope it's better in a hospital situation. That sounds awful. I was pleasantly surprised tonight to already have the results on all of DS's testing today. I'm still waiting for the official report from his doctor, but that'll probably be done tomorrow. I wonder if they work a bit more quickly when they're tied to a hospital group?

Ooh, I meant to say something about the Surface the other day when you mentioned needing a personal device. I bought a Surface laptop in 2021 and I frigging love that thing. Glad you bought yourself a Surface as well! I bought the surface pen so I use that instead of a mouse. Also, I get my Microsoft 365 annual subscription for $70 with Best Buy. I do tend to utilize Word and Excel in my outside of work life, though, so it is worth the subscription. I feel like a pen is going to make me feel like I'm using a hugely oversized Palm Pilot lol.... I had one back in the day at my first real job. tell me more about this Best Buy subscription, please? I'm going to give Google docs a shot after the free trial is over, but that will be a good option if I need it. the one thing I use the most is Excel for my cash flow spreadsheet. anyone know how the spreadsheet functionality is in Google docs? You just search for Microsoft 365 on BB's website and purchase a download. Easy stuff. If Google Docs ends up working just fine for you then free is best!

How would the twins be with 3 cats? You're gonna have to fight chiver for it. Cats are a no go. They've never actually caught one, so I don’t know if they would hurt them or not. Macy cornered one once and has a scar on her ear to show for it.

Google Sheets should be fine for basic financial tracking. It has formulas and you can insert charts and such.
When my former employer switched from Microsoft to Google Workspace, the only thing we really couldn't replicate in Google was our database that we had maintained in Microsoft Access. We ended up using a Google Form to submit data into a Google Sheet and had it display charts on the first tab of the spreadsheet, but we couldn't get it to generate some of the reports that we used to get out of Access.

So wait, is there a code or something? bc the fields I filled in today said the recharge would happen automatically (I'll be cancelling prior) so im confused as to how a BB subscription overrides the built-in one. thanks!

I've never paid for Office 365. Whenever I try to open a file it tells me it's just in view mode and I need a subscription, but that I can use the web version for free...which is what I've always done and it works fine for everything I've needed it for, which is mostly Excel docs.

Nut just texted teen that she can meet teen tomorrow morning for dental walk-in appt.
Lady let me get my hand puppets and explain this to you AGAIN step by step like you're 4...the 3 of us went to first walk-in appt together in April got antibiotics and they said go to dental school to get it pulled. Then in May you gave me medical proxy at that medical group. The next day teen and I went at 530 am to stand in line for dental school walk-in. We were 7th in line, office opened at 8, they took 10 walk-ins so we squeaked in. Dentist said yep needs to be pulled make an appt on the way out. That appt was in June, they tried to pull it but didn't work, make next appt a couple weeks later for more senior dentist to try pulling it. Nope, not numb enough and too complicated, referred to oral surgeon. Called and called to get appt there which you NUT went with us to in Aug. They consulted and said yes pull it. You were present in the fucking room and I was not bc you wouldn't allow it. So I made next appt for Oct and then called and called to grab cancelation spot last week which you then proceeded to ignore paperwork for medical release for anesthesia. Fucking moron.
I'm beginning to think she's both vindictive and stupid. How can she possibly think teen can just walk in original office and have it pulled?
DH's guess is that she is worried that medicaid won't pay for anesthesia. Um, well they will if nut can be bothered to fill out medical referral including ins info. And she could have asked that at appt. I would have had I been allowed to talk to them. Or she could just call and ask now.
Meanwhile teen said another part of tooth broke off last night at dinner so daily pain went from 8 to 12 out of 10. Left msg with social worker first thing this morning...no call back. Will call again tomorrow.

I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, azucena, but that mom needs a hard boot to the a$$. Doesn't she know that people STILL die from bad tooth infections? And yet she allows her daughter to suffer with that bad tooth. I really feel for that poor kid, and am thankful she has you in her life.
