Andi - living vicariously thru your home search. If the sellers let you get away, they will regret it. What's the listing for the next one?

Theo-so sorry to hear about your cousin. Sending healing thoughts her way.
Andi-I hope you can fond the right house for you.
Azucena. I hope BY can find solutions that work for her to maintain good health.
Giramomma-It is wonderful that you can bake for your family on a regular basis. My sibs & cousins will never forget Grandma’s Cinnamon Rolls, or the many treats our mom baked for us.
DS and I again spent several hours at mom’s going through paperwork. DB closed the extra door into the bathroom with drywall. They still have to mud & tape. There were a few pieces of china and mom’s recipes in that room. We moved inside a cabinet in the kitchen.
(Eta. The Room was used as a TV room. My parent’s cape cod had 2 bedrooms on 1st floor. One is primary, other was always used as a TV room. When my patents expanded kitchen in the 90’s they opened room to the kitchen. Dad had ALS. A lift was added that could run from that room to the bathroom for showering, and to the bedroom) The original doorway was under the stairs and could not accommodate the lift, so they added a door between TV room & bathroom. DB is taking it back out for resale purposes)
We are making progress, but every time we think we are nearly done we find another drawer full of this stuff.
My goal is to end up like theo and work with an organizer periodically, so my kids don’t have so much to sort through.

So many young people are dying from cancer. Like, not even seeing 60 young. This makes me sad. My 35 year old cousin with stage 4 colon cancer is now being seen at MD Anderson in Houston because doctors here said they can't help her any more. She just got back from a trip there and she didn't get good news. She had to start chemo again because the tumors in her liver are grown. Doctors said they can't operate so it's chemo or nothing. She has a little guy who just started school. Oh no! I'm so sorry!

Gave my dad grief because L convinced him to replace the toilet seat.
I said WTF and we weren't worth replacing a seat as old as I am?!
He said it was not as old as me.
I noticed he didn't counter when I said fine half as old as me.
I told her work on getting him to toss the shower doors of death too.
I don't think he likes that we've teamed up.🤣

Ugh. I'm reviewing quotes for DH's life insurance. (Whatever he had expired a few months ago, and I missed it in the middle of my depression turmoil.) We were paying $159.00 for $250K which I already thought was hecka high.
These are for 20-year policies:
Initial EFT Monthly Premium1: $354.50 Male Age 61 Initial Face Amount2: $350,000
Initial EFT Monthly Premium1: $404.17 Male Age 61 Initial Face Amount2: $400,000
Initial EFT Monthly Premium1: $447.67 Male Age 61 Initial Face Amount2: $500,000
We're having pork ribs and sweet potatoes for dinner. I still need to doing some gardening this evening. And then that thing called Monday will be here!

My ANNUAL premiums are $200 and $350 for a 250K policy on Ex and a 400K policy on myself. I really don't need it anymore but will keep them until the end of the terms in 5 or 6 years.

My motivation goes up as the temperature goes down as evidenced by the 28K steps on my Fitbit today. Carrot and I did go for a 2 hour hike, but most of it was from trimming and yard work. Earned my tv time tonight!

currently watching SNF and cursing my fantasy football team. I've also done a little more cleaning up of the files I'm gonna need to transfer off this laptop. pup pics I know I have elsewhere, for instance. if I catch grief about the volume of it all, I can be good with just the budget spreadsheet and the tax return files. not ideal, but that's the shit I'd grab if my house was on fire, so to speak.

To celebrate the arrival of Fall, I made a couple of pumpkin pies this weekend. (My SIL approves.) Mother Nature is seriously confused here. Two of my 3 lilac bushes dropped their leaves early, and now my white lilac is blooming for the 2nd time this year.

One of my older son's high school classmates/friends is missing in Yellowstone. They found his campsite and his personal items, but no sign of him since last Tuesday.

I started listening to the Women by Kirsten Hannah. I have been on waiting list with library forever. It is good. Hopefully I can finish before my hold expires.

Just checking in from central California where we're still having summer weather despite what the calendar says.
I discovered in Mid-May that I had scary-high triglycerides, scary-high cholesterol, high blood pressure and waaaay too high blood sugar. That started 4 months of new and changed meds, new doctors (cardiologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, allergist/immunologist and a psychologist), and soooo many diagnostic tests. Short version: I've got gallbladder disease (gallstones) and am not a surgical candidate, I've got Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), heart disease and (now) better controlled T2 diabetes (had it for 20 years, but Menopause made things worse.
Anyway, I spent 4 days in the hospital in August, went through two angiograms, and now have one stent and two unstentable blocked arteries. I am supposed to have a Fibroscan (sort of a special ultrasound) for my liver in the hopes I can avoid a liver biopsy (which, in my case, would possibly have to go through my jugular vein.) I've been working with a cardiac dietician and have revamped my eating. That, along with meds, has my cholesterol back where it should be, my diabetes is getting better, and now my triglycerides are just diabetic high, not scary high.
Getting old (I'm 59) is more challenging than I'd expected.

Take care!
