Oh man, grandson knows how to get grandma. He came in the bedroom, here I am with a nasal strip on my nose and hair sticking out everywhere. I said man grandma looks awful this morning. Little guy says oh grandma you are always beautiful and I get a big hug and kiss. No matter how tough you are that has to melt your heart. He knows the things too say. DD is a bit jealous so she has too hug and kiss too. Sure give good feelings though.

Doing a deep clean in the living space and kitchen. Rooting around in my fall decor bins. Packer game going in the background.
Beef pot roast in the cast iron Dutch oven. Veggies go in, in an hour. Making oven roasted brussel sprouts drizzled with maple syrup to go with. Neighbor is coming over to share dinner with. We have three months to catch up on. She headed to VT for the summer.
We’ve had a preying mantis hanging on the front door since Friday. Such cool looking critters!

I vote for sending the Christmas cards including bonus teen.
I'm home and need to unpack and get to cleaning. I'm also hungry.

My little UV lamps came in. Not bad for $8 each. They are just the right size.
Got them plugged in and set to an 8 hr cycle for now.
Next is a little trellis to get my mom's plant trained instead of sneaking along the floor.
Most of the herbs I put in my hydroponic are taking off too I should have a really nice indoor herb garden going soon.
If I had the space I'd get a second one for even more herbs year round.
And maybe all these uV lights will help with SAD in the winter.

Well, for my birthday, she made me scrapbook page of a picture she found of me and spelled out beautiful in stickers. It's hard to see yourself like others see you. I'm always grateful for that gift she gives me.

So many young people are dying from cancer. Like, not even seeing 60 young. This makes me sad.

Hubs is leaving for Indiana today since he and son got the little tarp building up over his tools. He was sure happy to get that done. So he said there is nothing he can start right now and might as well go. I just ironed his pants and shirts for him to wear to the reunion.
I was thinking about painting, but I think I need to spend a couple of days just straightening and cleaning things in here. We can do it when we come back. It is going to look so nice in here when we finish the painting and get the new blinds up. I can hardly wait, that will be a time to clean the windows inside and out before we do that so all will be clean for the fall and winter.
Hubs fixed some things for me before he left He fixed the cabinet door on the sink and some other stuff.

Arguing with DH. He keeps going through my personal stuff and I asked him to leave it alone. He wants to know if I want to throw things away when I’ve already told him no, it stays. Grrrr!

So many young people are dying from cancer. Like, not even seeing 60 young. This makes me sad. My 35 year old cousin with stage 4 colon cancer is now being seen at MD Anderson in Houston because doctors here said they can't help her any more. She just got back from a trip there and she didn't get good news. She had to start chemo again because the tumors in her liver are grown. Doctors said they can't operate so it's chemo or nothing. She has a little guy who just started school.

I had to use up the last of the apples we picked over labor day weekend.
I was *not* making another apple pie.
I have apple crisp going in the oven. I won't lie. My kitchen smells amazing.
And, because I somewhat have my poop together, I have quick bread for breakfasts this week in the oven at almost the same time.
I just have one batch of muffins, and then I'm done baking. And with the apples.
We got a half bushel. So, that is pretty good.

Do they know how much better than cereal!

Because the cereal keeps the kids full for about 40.23 seconds.
