I wanna be your next door neighbor. What are you putting in the empanadas? I'm just pondering sweet or savory. Probably beef, onions, garlic and poblanos. And cheese. DH loves pumpkin ones, so I might decide to be very kind and do those instead. All of the above please, and you can double the pumpkin ones for me.

Now I want hot and sour soup. The new owners of this place are doing really good stuff, super authentic Chinese, not Chinese-American, so the hot and the sour elements are really well balanced with lots of yummy veggies too. I want to order the steamed tilapia with lotus root, tree ear mushrooms, cauliflower and potatoes. Lotus root and tree ear mushrooms are two of the best things I've ever eaten I had sweet and spicy honey glazed lotus stems recently - they were wonderful

This fucking cat is not going to be of this world for much longer because I'm going to fucking kill her myself! She keeps hiding and fighting me every damn time she gets her meds. She ran over the cup I keep the stuff in and I had to spend 15 minutes searching for the syringe of antibiotic that flew out. I guess I'll know she's really not well when she allows me to touch her without her fighting like it's the zombie apocalypse. That time? Is not now. Jesus this is getting old

We're dealing with double ear infections in our cat too. She's actually not that bad to give her the meds...once you catch her and wrap her in a towel like a burrito...but she is totally on to us and leads us on a wild goose chase all around the house twice a day. I have two people to help with the roundup though.

At 12:22 pm today, my bldg shook for the 2nd time. Then there was a brief pause and it happened again. Six times, that I counted. But I've heard it happen up to 10 times. A LOT of people reported that they heard loud booms, along with the shaking. I didn't hear anything. It was felt/heard by people throughout the valley and surrounding areas. Scary! Lots of places have been blamed for it, but no one for sure. It was crazy! That is crazy! It was munitions detonations at a nearby army base. Something about the weather and the cloud cover, caused them to have a bigger sound and impact, on the nearby cities. (That's what they're saying, anyway.)

I still feel like shit. Now it's coughing and my nose running. My ear hurts.
I busted my ass. Still got a lecture about being behind cleaning samples out of the fridge.
I'm sure more will come. Or maybe she'll be busy with two bigger handfuls she's inherited as part of the reorg.
Took too much dayquil and now I'm twitchy and near tears for no reason.
God I hope I don't blow my interview tomorrow afternoon.

Last night I accidentally dropped my box of Grape Nuts cereal and let me just say - they are almost like being a mini LEGO. I'm still finding the darn things and I vacuumed and wiped down the kitchen floor. Unfortunately, they are almost a exact match to the floor tiles.
I took a bunch of scrap metal and recycled it today. I finally got the rusted and crusty burn barrel gone!

There is now a pastry beater attachment for KitchenAid stand mixers. I bought one. It's for cutting the butter into the flour. I'm thinking empanadas to try it out. That's a great gift idea for my inlaws. I just have to remember it. Ot maybe just tell dh now and he can remember.
