Plumber got here at 3 and just left at 5:30 so supper will be a bit late as I am overheated after being outside for 2 hours in 95 degrees. Damage was $800, he did an awesome job. DH has a serious case of dumb going today and I'm not in the mood. Some of you may remember the bike episode, where he decided he didn't want the $1K bike less than a year after buying it so it was given away. Now he wants to replace the hose and hose box he just had to have 6 months ago for $200 while trying to cheapskate today's repairs. Oh, hell no, that's not happening. And he had the incredible stupidity to expect me to try to sell the damn hose box and hose online. Yeah, like I'm going to spend hours online and in-person trying to get $60 for it while getting stiffed by most potential buyers and having to stay home for many hours to meet up with sketchy folks. Ugh. I am currently waiting for someone to come pick up some items, they were looking for. I hate just sitting and waiting for people. It makes me nervous. (I remember the bike situation.) Good luck.

I found some nice vintage earrings in the lots. I suppose it's one way to quickly find things.
I joked maybe I should get a lot of vintage necklaces. DH may be drawing up divorce papers as I type.🤣
I like the Styrofoam Christmas tree idea with leftovers. I've been wanting to try that or make a hanging one. This is definitely enough to do it with.

OMG, air quality totally sucks. We are off the charts with elm and ragweed pollen plus mold, along with an ozone alert and all the particulate pollution from the Deer Park/LaPorte pipeline fire which continues to burn. I can't breathe, we are sneezing and coughing plus noses and eyes running and all of the above. And that's WITH Allegra daily.

y'all, the universe is reminding me that I'm grounded and everything will work out. Chronicle, an evening news magazine sort of program that's been around since I was a kid, tonight's episode was "Unique Stays". it included a fantastic outdoor music venue that is under the wing of a good friend for marketing, out near Worcester. and then it also highlighted the lighthouse up near Empress, where I took in sunrise on my 40th birthday.
the reason I'm seeing this as a good omen? I don't watch this channel, hardly at all, ever. last night, I fell asleep watching Dancing With The Stars, and it was the channel that cued up when I turned the tv on tonight. I needed to see Chronicle tonight.

What's the best way to search the parent thread for my posts about bonus teen? I'm beefing up my documentation in preparation for social services visit. I've tried searching on 'bonus teen' and only get 2 pages of posts with general teen. I've tried searching for posts by azucena but it shows 2011 to 2023 for some reason and all of the posts would be 2024. Not sure. Sent you several messages with copied post. Page 2913 has many posts.

Gwen only took five pairs of earrings.
Abby does not have pierced ears.
DH has been singing "That was dumb" to the tune of Baby Shark for the past hour.
We could start our own resell business.
I figure let Abbys friends dig through if they have pierced ears.
I'll take out ones I like to make a Christmas tree.
DH said I could do all that and still have enough to supply the entire neighborhood.🤣

Made some progress today. I painted around 4 windows, hubs and I got curtains up in our bedroom window, finally. We both feel more comfortable. I still need to put one in the glass door but it's not where the neighbor can see in. Hubs put DD's up. He took down the crooked blind in the office. Temporarily I have curtains to put in there.
He taped around the ceiling ready to paint it tomorrow. And we had 4 windows that would not close, we were thinking might have to put new in those. He found a simple solution after looking at them. Just took a thin painter edge tool and slipped it in the grove on the outside and the windows went down and are now latched, You can see from the stuff they had under them have been open for years, not much but enough to likely make it cold and increase the light bill. They had taped them and put foam under some trying to stop cold air I'm sure. Hubs thinks some silicone spray will make them slide ok. Sure glad we don't have to replace them.
I painted the baseboard all around the hallway and the entrance way. I thought I could ignore it, but nope it needs it so will do it in the next week or two. All the ceiling vents are washed and clean in that area plus light fixtures. It's going to look so nice and clean when we are done, that is the objective. Cleaned the return jet cover on the spa tub, it was gross and should circulate better too.
So we quit for the day, had baths and now jams on at 6 PM, we are old, LOL! As he says we will slowly get it done, and we will. Besides gives him something to do.
So a nice day with at least one important item fixed, the windows.
Hubs got the curtain down in the kitchen too, filthy, with lots of grease, have to see if it can be reused. I will have to get something strong to wash the walls in there.

The pharmacy just opened and DH's rx is there. Just have to wait for them to fill it. Kiddo has really taken to doing her own laundry, so she's moving her load from the washer to the dryer now. I need to go find something to pull from the freezer for dinner tonight. Notice you have not posted in awhile. How is everything?

My earring lots came in. Good lord 4lbs of earrings is A LOT. 2lbs is too many. Never again. Someone smack me if I go onto ebay again. What to do? Give each DD 2 pounds, one for them one to share? Leave a set every day at place of choice? Make necklaces? Decorate jackets? I'd have the ladies of the house pick out what they want. Then I'd be gifting earrings until the end of time.

Trying to get reimbursed by insurance for a flight on Alaska air. I need a receipt and can’t get it on website I’ve been on hold for 35 min, finally got a nice calm person. Giving her details but was put on hold and …. Cut off. Damnit Maybe try tomorrow Didn't they email you one when you booked the flight? Forward that. If you have to upload it to something, PDF it and then upload.

Gwen has the opportunity to go to Paris with her orchestra teacher in 2026.
After discussing it we put down the deposit.
I told DH that going to Borneo was one of the best things I ever did. If we can give Gwen the opportunity to travel internationally we should.
We have rules. She's going to have to keep her grades up and we'd like her to get a job to save up spending money. Even if it ends up being odd jobs for us.
She is also required to bring me home at least one cheesy souvenir from the eifel tower and bring home European tea.
God I wish I could go with her. I've seen the itinerary and it is my HS fantasy trip.
Ugh. I've wanted to go since I read The vampire Lestat.

Never mind, bonus teen needs me to stay up a little longer.
Yet another new social worker came to house based on my hotline call and schools. At first teen was mad at me but the more questions soc asked of her, the madder she got at nut. I was able to pull together a pretty detailed timeline of our adventures and nut's role in making all medical things tougher, gave a 3 page doc to soc worker and she took 5 pages of notes.
Visit took an hour and included tour of house, kids bedrooms, running water, food in fridge. March soc worker only looked at bedrooms and did not include questioning teen privately like this one did. Teen told her that nut is intentionally holding control in an effort to get teen to give up and move back. She also said that nut hates me and is never going to give me rights.
Babysitting went really well and she made $45 which is a good self esteem boost.
Before soc worker came, nut had called teen 3 times during babysitting but teen didn't answer. Teen answered 4th call about 8 pm and nut proceeded to blow up about all the things without even knowing she'd been hotlined. Nut is sure teen isn't getting better here, her mental health is clearly crappy given the seizures and her grades are bad and she's missing school. Plus she went off on her hair and weight again. Teen said her phone was dying to get out of continued barrage and nut said I see how you're going to be with your attitude and hung up.
Mother fucker, yes teen is still struggling bc nut has with held therapy and appts take so long to get so she's only had 4 sessions on my watch. Years of physical and sexual abuse don't just disappear from one's psyche.
Her grades look bad bc of all the incomplete work. She finished spring with As and Bs and one C bc she worked her ass off and I spent hours supporting her and spent almost $400 on geometry tutor.
And fuck her for commenting on physical attributes at all much less when teen is in crisis.
Nut threatened to sue school bc teen didn't have her permission to re-enroll...that explains the mysterious unenrollment first week of June that school soc worker likely fixed behind the scenes. Nut was prob thinking teen would def move back in exchange for getting to stay at current school. Then she'd have her free babysitter, housecleaner and cook back.
She's also going to sue school bc they violated 'privacy' by talking to me and even allowing me to call in teen's absences. Nut thinks she should have to approve each one. Jokes on her bc per the school, teen is technically homeless since she's not living with a legal guardian so teen can day I can speak for her as unaccompanied minor living in my home.
Nut is also going to sue me bc it's my fault teen is not better and I stole her. She's also going to send police to remove teen. We had asked about that when soc worker visited. She said police would likely come check on teen, listen to her story, call school to corroborate and tell nut to pound rocks since teen is 16.
Soc worker suggested emancipation and we had to educate her that missouri doesn't have emancipation law. She said she's mostly used to working in IL. Wtf.

Soc worker is going to get advice from supervisor tomorrow bc we are tough case. She's also going to contact our legal aid lawyer to see if they have made any progress. She's going to give me a heads up before she contacts nut so we will know when the shit has truly hit the fan.
After talking to nut, teen sobbed in my arms for a good 30 mins. I offered to just listen and not judge or offer help (thank you therapy). Then she said she felt lighter and we joked about some stupid stuff for a bit and then she said okay, now give me guidance.
I compared some of it to my own dysfunctional relationship with my dad and how I had to cut him off for about 7 yrs and he wasn't abusive just not a good dad. Also talked about DHs family and how hard it is to break the poverty and mental health cycle and how hurt people tend to claw any escapees back into the chaos.
I pointed out how many adults have told her in the last two weeks about how this nonsense is her mom's fault and not hers. How her mom is grown and should do better but likely doesn't know how but that's not a real excuse.
She brought up that one aunt has told her she's proud that she's getting out and not to let anyone including her mom drag her back. I'd already been feeling like this aunt has flaws but in general is good influence.
Teen said none of her family is going to understand and nut will make it seem like teen is unruly. I said that's likely true and hurtful but teen is allowed to choose her family and reminded her that even babysitting family already sees she's a great role model to have around their kids. I said maybe just maybe some of her kin will watch all this and want a shot at a better life themselves. That's been my prayer for her poor, unfortunate younger siblings when I allow myself to think of them bc it's hard beyond words to think of them still being stuck.
I reiterated that I didn't exactly sign up for seizures but that she's my crew now and she's stuck with me. Told her I didn't sign up to be 22 and married to chronically I'll husband either and 23 yrs later and I'm still stubborn as hell that he's mine.
Again thank God for my years of therapy with great therapists and for my faith bc it's all that is getting me through. Oh and teen's beautiful smile, wicked sense of humor and the way her 5 foot 11 black self pats my 5 foot 3 white self on the head every chance she gets to walk by including in public the last couple of weeks.

Teen is asleep now after having one episode about 930 that we both predicted was coming after the emotional avalanche of the last few hours. She felt dizzy about 15 mins before which has been a clear sign and then she also commented about feeling generally off so we paused and reflected on how that felt in her body so she could catalogue it for future reference like psychologist accepted. Before this she hadn't had one in a few days.
She also attempted to sing a couple of her fav songs to cope but it was all just too much. I do think she came out of the episode quicker so that's promising.

I may have tried my first carbliss flavor that I don't like. Black cherry. I may have had some candy corn before it. Perhaps that was not the best idea. There's your problem right there. Candy corn is satan's earwax. Peeps are a deposit from Satan's ears too.

Good morning, engaged invisipeeps, holding the world together with love and string as needed. Welcome to Thursday. Already! The week and month are flying past. I hope this day returns to you respite from conflicts and rewards for hard work. I hope no one pisses on your pancakes. Today we'll know if the show this Saturday will be held on Saturday or moved to Sunday due to forecast rain. The wind will still be a big factor but nothing to be done for that. This show is part of two days of a festival at the Cape Cod Canal, including a 5k run, music and a variety of other activities. DD is working hard and with pleasure. She worked an extra hour yesterday as a patient aspirated. It was not her patient but the other nurse was busy with another patient and DD handled it well. She truly enjoys her job. She just needs to develop more physical stamina and she'll be fine. She'll continue with PT, too, for at least another month. I hope all is well with you and yours. Yesterday was another heavily overcast morning, gray on gray at the beach. I took this, of a whirlpool around a rock in the shallows:

I've been to some really nice camps in the summers. Also a few international trips. I've only been international one other time. We could have gone more often if we didn't pay for private school for the kids. It would have been nice to make (a lot) more money, in that respect. More money could have bought us into a neighborhood with great schools at all three levels. 15 years ago, these were 500K-750K. Then we wouldn't have had to pay for private school. And with one or two kids, there could have been room for international travel. I hope in the end, though, the kids value a little slower pace of life and having a really good relationship with DH. Like, one where the kids know him. That's something my parents never gave me. I didn't know my dad in a meaningful way. And what I did know about him, my mom filtered. So. I never heard specifics about going to school in a two-room school house. But I know that apparently, after he was discharged from the service he dated a married woman before he met mom. I know he was thoughtful on their (his and mom's) wedding night when they consummated their marriage. I would have preferred stories about his and his brother, or about my grandparents though,

Well, we are a candy corn household and a peep household. (and a marshmellow household, though one of my kids doesn't like smores. Which, Is like, um,..no.)
Fortunately it's expensive. And with 6 people won't last long.
So it's like the orange in the Christmas stocking for Laura from Little House on the prairie.

Good morning. It is another mysteriously foggy morning this. morning. A little heavier than yesterday, but not so heavy that I can't see 3 deer tails wagging as they browse under cedars near the edge of our tree line. It is heavy enough that I cannot see the mountain across the road and about half of the open field n the foreground of the mountain.
Y'all have a terrific day!
