Weltz after you pay something like $5k you are in the catastrophic phase, after $8k you get into the phase that drug costs are zero, a change this year with the inflation act apparently. Soup my understanding is Medicare will pay for the glasses exam but not the glasses. That is what my eye doc did. That is next for DD and I to get new glasses, I think I will try Costco and see what they offer. We have been paying $1000 each for glasses. And then I need 2 new caps. I've let it go because the dentist I used couldn't do it before I left. I gave the one appt to DD for her tooth as it was broken and had been hurting her. I took her to someone else and he said nothing was wrong with it. There was, so wanted her not to be in pain. Mine are not hurting yet, but dentist said don't wait to long as they will. Yes, I can get an eye exam at my clinic with a $35 deductible, but there's a 2-3 month wait for an appointment. DH paid $119 for his eye exam and his lenses and frames will be in the $1K range too because he wants Silhouette frames and custom tint. He worked the miserable job that made the $$ so I can't complain. I'm actually free loading in a way, but my sweat equity paid into our lifestyle too.

I have the Silhouette frames, light like a feather. However, I think they need adjusted and the clinic where I went closed down. They were wonderful but expensive so likely why they closed. I'm afraid to bend them so will have it done when I get new glasses but would like them in these frames. Maybe can wear an old pair till I get them back. Went to some other place one time and couldn't see out of the glasses. I'm going to try Costco and see how they are. I have one eye slightly lower than the other and some don't get it right.

Just finished pay bills and it wasn't as bad as it could be. I'll reevaluate at the end of the month though... I also got to get caught up on the accounting for my side business. I need to remember to ask DH to go to the post office and check the PO box. I could have a check in there for my side job. Yesterday, my boss told us that she's leaving the company in 2 weeks. It really doesn't come as a surprise and I don't think it was really her decision. She gets to offload her knowledge to myself and other department heads before she leaves. After this, I'm need to write my To Do list for this week along with comb some year-end emails to see if I'm need anything from her. She already mentioned 1 items, but she passed that off at the end of last year, and I just need to continually update it. We already had someone work on it. I just need to look it over and continue to update for new items. I had mentioned something to her earlier about another task. Fortunately, I have her file, but still would like to look it over with her and write down any comments/notes she has to offer.

Back was bothering me, so did the spa tub tonight, luxurious for sure. Had water less hot and still didn't get cool in about an hour. I ran the cleaner through the jets again and it cleaned some out but nothing like before pretty clean. I washed my face in the sink to not get all the makeup in it, I'm sure it would add to the crud.
Hubs fixed the lights in the bedroom, have 2 reading lights you can angle for reading in bed. Cranked up my bed and enjoyed that for about an hour till he went to bed. This stuff is going to spoil me.
Tomorrow will paint around my bedroom windows and DD's plus possibly the office window. Then I can put curtains up in our bedroom. It may be in the back of the house but I feel positively exposed in there. That will make me feel much better, hubs said him too. We may paint tomorrow, if he doesn't I plan to anyway. Going to start on the hallway.
It is quite cool out, 59 now so we have the furnace on, very comfortable in here, not running much.
I'm reading Blood Lure off and on and now am watching Colony again.
Will be in bed shortly.

I found out that in 2024 once I'm out of catastrophic costs for drugs then its zero cost, so that was why my pills cost nothing. Apparently this is new this year. And the costs are to be that for the rest of the year. I only have 3 expensive ones the rest are very cheap. That will sure help a lot of folks. I also read the max deductible they can charge is $545, that's what mine was. I'm paying a higher premium next year I think, it covers more. With Cigna there are 3 levels and I like their plans. I was able to go from my Cigna in Indiana to Cigna in Washington. The licensed broker that helped me made sure I did not have to meet my deductible again. Thanks. I thought your cholesterol levels were catastrophic.

Richard Goodall on AGT is from the town north of us. Everybody around is rooting for him. I hope he wins the million dollars, he has worked as a janitor at a school in that town. He deserves any good things coming to him.
His voice is amazing, hope he makes a lot of bucks in the future. A dealership in town even gave him a new car, bet he can use it.

azucena I'd also continue to have the bills sent to her. Once she realizes that she's on the hook for those bills, I'm guessing she may well decide that oh well, she'll just sign the forms instead. You are an angel. Her credit is screwed and she's been using bonus teen's.Plus medicaid will 100% cover it if she just fills out the paper. I'd totally fill it out but she refuses to give us a copy of teen's medical card. Age of medical consent is 18 in missouri. They aren't supposed to tell me anything so I start each email with I know you can't talk to me, but I will be continuing to share key facts in the hopes that you can help bonus teen. Even sitting in waiting room today, I was legit vibrating thinking that woman could say teen come home with me now and we'd have a huge public spectacle on our hands. And I think there is a tiny, tiny part of teen that might consider it in the hopes that nut would do better. Softball for me tonight and therapy tomorrow. Isn't this illegal?

Good morning, astute and able invisipeeps, growing gardens, managing health-related matters, paying bills, investing in real estate and the next generation. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day provides you with beauty and joy. I hope you have clean, uncontaminated water. I hope all obstacles diminish. Today I need to prepare for Saturday's show on the Cape, which I hope will be in more moderate weather than predicted -- up to 20 mph winds and a fair likelihood of rain. We may not go if it's too rough. Don't want to be chasing the tent across the park if it takes off like a sail. We use 30# of weights on each leg. I can up it to 40#. Hard to say what will be enough. It's a lot of $ to pay and prep to do for nothing if we don't go. Aargh. It's hard being a grownup. Yesterday I did put together the porch glider chair. Was missing 3 nuts in the end; will have to replace them before we use it. It was a bit of a pain to do, but the results are good. I got to the cloudy beach yesterday while it was still dark, so no sunrise but the dark has its own beauty. This is a fishing boat returning to harbor at 5:50.

Cheesy - def illegal. Legal aid lawyer is working on unraveling it. On my list to check in with them today bc teen isn't up to it. Most things pertaining to her mom tend to trigger episodes. 3 overnight and very little sleep for either of us.
DH's parents also screwed up his credit. They got behind on utilities over and over again and used his info and his sis. Took us working with credit counselor in our 20s to fix it.
Mtg at school today about interim accommodations while we work thru 504 process. Nothing has been said about involving nut since school has given me rights thru students in transition legislation.
Got beat pretty bad in softball double header so wasn't quite as fun as last week when we won both. Good group of ladies so lots of laughs and much needed exercise. My whole body will hurt the next 2 to 3 days though bc I'm out of shape.

Finally getting some good rain this morning.
I am getting a blow by blow description from DS while he is getting a body estimate. He has never had to deal with anything like that and it shows. (Someone knocked his mirror off while he was parked at work. Unseen by cameras.)

ah, fantastic. I have a 1:1 with my boss's boss, and an HR rep at 11:40 this morning. and yesterday we caught wind that a senior director "has chosen to leave the company, his last day was the day before". I'll update after the call.
ETA: I pinged my boss to ask if there were any further updates on that other guy, or if there was any impending doom I should prepare for with the call later this morning. Teams was showing the .... that he was typing, and then he just called instead. apparently he has a call today as well, so neither of us really has an idea what's going on

Housekeeping question: Does anyone know what the magic ratio of vinegar, Dawn and water is to clean kitchen appliances and etc.? TIA I think it's a 1 to 1 ratio of vinegar and dawn and then fill up your container with water. It's a lot of suds so I'd start with less and add more if needed. I use it in one of my kitchen scrubbers.

What about reporting her for using teen's credit? It will have to be done at some point when it's time for her to adult. Maybe her getting in trouble could go to show she's unfit and someone else (you) should be POA.

It's going to be a huge mess when she's older. If she's messed up her credit so bad that she decided to scrap it and use the teen's, she's screwing up teen's credit as well. When she goes to get an apartment/utilities or buy a car she's going to have to either eat the bad credit or report her to get it straighted out. That's a hole that is hard to dig yourself out of. That's why I suggested she do it now. In order to get it straightened out ahead of time, but also to show that she's unfit.

My dad is a Jr. His credit got mixed with his father's and he spent years fighting that. He had to prove that each account was not his by accessing the SSN used on the accounts. It was extremely difficult getting the debt holders to share that info.

I think you have said before the interactions with her mom are triggers for seizures for BT. All the more reason why she should not be living with her mom. It isn't safe for her health, along with all of the other things. Somehow that credit card issue has to be stopped. It's fraud and BT will pay for it. BT needs to freeze her credit. My guess is mom is signing her name? That has to be stopped. Maybe close the cards and open new ones in her name only with no one else being able to sign. I know most places don't ask for signatures any more, but that has to stop. She shouldn't be going in to adulthood with facing this issue.

Just getting caught up, sitting in the tea room with a pot of tea and shortbread cookies…..so very civilized, this is a habit I could get used to!
We are 2 nights in Belfast, actually, we are in Bangor….which is on the outskirts of Belfast. Dinner reservations set for 7 tonight. There is a wedding going on at the hotel, so lots of well dressed guests. They have a gorgeous day for their wedding. Met the wedding photographer, and he and TD had to compare cameras.
Not sure of the game plan for tomorrow. I’ve been letting TD plan what he wants to do. I’m just along for the ride!

That's sort of why DH is going to a "boutique" type place. Costco doesn't offer custom tinting for his sunglasses and they don't carry true rimless frames at all. They also will not put new lenses in old frames unless you bought them there within the last 12 months. Costco does work for me because I just have a standard bifocal and no special requirements.

And while we are griping about glasses, my pet peeve is Texas has a set up where prescriptions expire in 12 months, forcing you to get a new prescription every time you need or want to change frames. My prescription expired in late June so I had to get a new one to buy new frames in September. The state called it "a consumer health protection" saying it insured eye problems would be detected early. I call it "income health protection" for optometrists.
