Hi! The time change is not my friend. I'm pretty sure I am supposed to go to bed when it's dark--which is by 5pm these days. Work has been distressing and caused lots of emotional eating; the Halloween candy made it worse. I'd been having my right side sciatic nerve act up again, but it's improved over the last month. That's taken chiropractic, ice, and specific core work and stretching. Next goal is to stop gaining weight.

so lots of new goals with recent events. Last Sunday I woke up Sunday with intense pain after spending the night at mt bf house for a bonfire. She drove me to the ER, I ended up with a 10 cm tumor on my right ovary, which they removed with the ovary and tube. however while in pain before the surgery my blood pressure jumped to 260/140 and I had 2 or 3 brain bleeds in the basal ganglia. I have a follow up on the 28th with the surgeon, and the 1st with a neurologist. so goals are more to find baseline, sleeping, water, walking. fine motor skills on mt left side, Oh my! I wish for you complete and quick healing. Sorry to read about all that but hope that at least with them catching it things will get better once you heal.

I have fought it some, but I'm still in be regularly around 7pm. I might not sleep much, but I need to be in bed.

Don't worry about anything else right now, geenamercile, besides getting better. I had an emergency surgery for the removal of a very large ovarian cyst, and the pain was so bad they put me on morphine. Then, they did an exploratory to make sure nothing else was going on, so I had a large, painful incision to deal with. The healing was slow, and I was out of work for a long time. So, my advice is rest. It doesn't matter what's on the calendar, or anything. This is one of those times when you need to put your own health first and allow others to take care of you. Most likely you've been overworking for a long time, so it's time others see what you've been doing all this time and let them take over. JHMO.

I got some weight lifting in with the arms last night. Just did a 5 mile walk to town and looped the back of the park on the way back. I can't do all of the workouts, anything that works the stomach I have to be real careful with, but I am going to try and use what I can to build some of this muscle back.

That's incredible. Don't over do it or go against any restrictions. You've been through a lot. Give your body time to heal.

I'm not the physical therapist is the only one who did not put any restrictions on besides listening to my body after their evaluation.

I started with light weights or body weight in the morning alternating upper and lower body days. I had really slipped on dedication getting to the gym regularly because I'd rather play tennis and pickleball with people. Even though weights are always the friend that is there. I was tired. Now I am not as tired and getting in the court time My friend also lifts and is complaining of fatigue. She had two knee replacements last summer so she has to be in the gym. I offered advise to cut back on weight amount. She's also golfing. Our golf lesson tired me. I haven't gone out on the course since I am committed to the two tennis teams and cannot be fatigued. I had been having an itchy scalp even with Head & Shoulders. I decided to scrub my scalp with a brush. It did help. The brush didn't tangle in my hair. I used little strokes.

I just find the arm excises boring.... my motivation for them is low. I did get an almost 6 mile walk in today. I was trying to find some protein/vitamin water combo but not luck, I found each by itself but none that were both. I did a battery for my scale, it said 146.6 when I got home.

142lb this morning so I think I lost most of the hospital weight. Yesterday I ended up doing nothing I probably should have walked around the park go to town and my cousin couldn't make it but I just couldn't find the motivation to do that walk again. I ended up just resting and playing on the internet most of the day

Goals for this week is to exercise at least five out of the 7 days. I need to get my water drinking back up. According to this Fitbit I've been sleeping about 10 hours a day. I'm going to talk to the doctor tomorrow about trying to figure out what my diet should be more like to heal. I might need to add some more iron to it but beef still just tastes weird.

@greenamercile, it sounds like you are healing up nicely. I’m impressed you can get in so much walking.
I’m still being very aware of my diet. It’s amazing how much better I eat when I don’t eat out. My food “budget” just goes so much further. That alone has been motivation for me to come right home after work instead of suggest dinner out. Even a quick but not quite so healthy meal is a better choice than most anything I would pick at a restaurant (not going to order plain steamed veggies and chicken).
Using the budget of “bites” (like points in WW), with the Healthi app, I have been making better choices to make my “bites” go further. Like instead of a whole pack of spicy ramen for 17 bites, I’ll have half a pack and throw in eggs and a bunch of frozen veggies, saving myself 8 bites. I was then able to have a square of dark chocolate for 3 bites, and was just as full as if I had the entire ramen pack. I’m trying to look at it as a fun challenge. Not so fun when I run out of bites.
Anyway, that’s my update. I’ll keep moving along!

I think the bite challenge sounds fun. Don't be to impress with the walking when it is the only think you are allowed to do and the only way you have to get anywhere. I need to research more things I can do that do not use the core muscles.
The body Armor Lyte drinks have become my go to drink

142lb this morning so back to pre hospital. I have to get back to drinking more water. I have to take my blood pressure 3 times a day, yesterday afternoon it was high. I realized all I had that day was my cup of coffee and that was it. Drank some water and ate something and rested and it went down. But I need to find ways to lower it.
so goals... Going to eat something small in the morning before work, Drink 60oz of water Keep track of blood pressure

Mid-week I have to go in for my "company-required" physical. DH's company, who holds our health insurance, requires spouses on their policy to go see the doctor every year, or every other year, depending on whatever they decide. I'm annoyed with myself right now because I'm currently 2 pounds higher than the last time I had their version of a physical. I'm going to put in some extra work, and see if I can nudge the scale down...

I'm almost recovered from having bronchitis for two weeks for a result of just two pounds up. The two weeks included a bit of comfort food, Prednisone and no exercise, so I'm grateful it's just a small bump.
Hugs to everyone.

Well, I shocked myself today, as I lost those last 2 pounds overnight. I did do additional activity yesterday, and I'll have to keep it up for my physical. I wonder if I do an hour a day if I can lose another 10 pounds?

The flu is still hanging around the house, but I am feeling better so I need to get back to business.
I started drinking water without ice and it has helped to get my intake up while it is cold outside. I am averaging 90 oz/day, want to get that up to 120. My cup holds 30 ounces so it is just 1 more fill-up, but I try not to have too much after work or I would be in the bathroom all night. I think a better solution would be to make sure that I drink a whole cup BEFORE I leave for work which is doable.

I’ve been consistently below 150 for a month. But just barely - 149.something. Well I’ll keep to 1200 calories for most days but do go over maybe once/week Not doing much exercise so that would definitely help get to the goal of 145. NY resolution??

Resumed exercising earlier this week. Boy, can I tell I was down! Legs were sore the next day after the first session. I'm back to the prior routine except with just half the crunches. Weight up a bit due to Christmas cookies, etc. which I'll kibosh.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
