I am still mulling over my goals. I think I will go back to posting weight once a week and then the first of each month. I am thinking weekly and monthly step goals might be better than setting a yearly goal.

I'm in. My eating was horrible, starting Thanksgiving. In 2022, I'm going 100% vegetarian. That part won't be hard, because I eat very little meat anyway. I would like to lose 7-10 lbs. I really need to exercise more. Good luck to all on your goals!

My trainer handed me my a$$ this morning. For an hour. Now I need an nap but, first, I need to drink my four cups of lemon juice salt water.

I need to exercise, lose weight and lay off the booze.
I also need to find a new doc, since my old one quit a few years ago, and do the subsequent exam(s) and labs.
I was doing well over the holidays, but the fast food on our trip got my weight back up--dammit!
I'm reading a book by Deepak Chopra that I found at the library. It's about mindfulness about eating. It might be helpful with the challenges I've encountered with working from home.
I did get myself some better for me, more supportive shoes, so there's one thing going for me.

Saturday was a decent but not good day regarding calorie consumption. 1,744 calories. There was chocolate cake involved. Cardio yesterday and this morning. For Today—Sunday— I went straight out to the garage gym from my bed. It is not a routine that I enjoy in the slightest, but with my January - March schedule it is the only way I can be consistent with exercise.

I went outside with the kids yesterday and shoveled some snow. And today a slow walk today with them in the 15F weather with lots of stops to look at frozen pinecones and whatever else caught their fancy. But I was outside and moving, so I’m going to call it a win.

My whole family went on a hike yesterday at a nearby state park. Only 2 miles, but lots of stairs involved. It was cold, and started snowing lightly, which made the boardwalks and stairs slippery, but no one fell.
I've been a bum today. As long as I workout at least every other day, I think I should be good. I don't want to chance the gym right now with COVID raging.

1790 calories today. The downfall using chocolate chips as a coping mechanism when I was paying some medical bills and having anxiety about that.

Weekly check in
Here are my goals for the upcoming week.
1. Keep up PT 2. Average 6500 steps a day. 3. In bed no later than 11:00 on work nights. Aim for 10:30. 4. Drink an average of 30 ounces of water/decaffeinated tea. 5. Aim to get out of bed when alarm sounds.

I know I have consumed too much salt the last few days. Hope the weight increase is just temporary. Definitely need to work on stopping the increase.
Have a great week everyone.

12/20/21 218.4 12/27/21 219.2 01/03/22 217 I started IF three weeks ago, tomorrow. I definitely make better choices for consumption and take in fewer items that are going to send my insulin rates skyrocketing. My vast quantities of sugar-laden foods and foods that easily convert to sugar have played too much a part in this journey so I'm glad to be more mindful of what I'm eating. In the past, my "eff it" foods were things like ice cream and candy bars. Now, they're potatoes/chips. That book really, truly changed how I look at the macronutrients in my food and the part they play. While we've been told over and over again that sugar is not good for our bodies in large quantities, but actually knowing the chain reaction that occurs and how it contributes to this visceral fat hanging around makes all the difference. If you haven't read/listened to "The Obesity Code" by Jason Fung, I highly recommend it.

I did have ice cream today, but overall I stayed just under 1600 calories. I only did 20 minutes of cardio because I had headache.

I have been slacking in the water department. I used to easily down a gallon a day. So my first goal is to get at least 6 16oz down each day. I drank 1 while getting ready for work and 1 on the drive to work.

Hope others are doing well!

I was down to 172 yesterday, 173 today. Sigh. I ate properly yesterday so I'm not sure why. Maybe because I ate some salty salami? Seriously my weight loss has been torturously slow for months now. Why can't I be one of those people that loses 20lbs a week?

Why can't I be one of those people that loses 20lbs a week? Don't beat yourself up over a day. You have to look at the trend line not the specific points. Dec 6th I was at 225lbs at the doctor's office which was probably 222lbs if I were nekid when I weighed in. Today, nekid and post-poop, 216.2. But there have been some ups and downs in between. Heck, it's only been a couple weeks since I started IF. I'm most excited to see where I am in another month...in six months...etc. It also depends upon how tall you are and what your revised set weight is. I know if/when I get below 180lbs, I won't be fighting as hard to lose anything. 178lbs, at 5'7", is my sweet spot.

Today was a decent eating day. However, I’ve not done cardio since Monday.

We are in lockdown so my gym membership has been suspended. But it's been snowing here so I'm getting lots of exercise shoveling. It occurred to me that this is a double savings, my gym membership and what I usually pay to have the shoveling done.

Thursdays are pizza days in my house. I had some leftover salmon and red potatoes. Hoping that helps! I have my second weigh in at work on Tuesday. I think I'm doing okay, but have some hormonal fluctuations going on.

Hey gang. Was MIA for most of December - had a death in the family and then the craziness of the holidays. Used all that as an excuse to fall (jump?) off the wagon. Back now and ready to re-dedicate myself to a healthier lifestyle. Even though I've put 3-4 lbs back on, its been motivating to hear a couple people tell me I look like I've lost weight. I'll post an updated weight Tuesday, along with some short- and long-term goals. Keep up the great work everyone!

Hi Kids! Well, as I suspected, I regained 3-4 pounds over Christmas, so I'm fighting to get back to where I was pre-holiday. I've got between 2-3 pounds to go. I'm doing my daily workouts, but frankly this below zero weather brings out the worst in me. I crave all the food I shouldn't touch. And, if I had the option, I'd just hibernate until the weather is warmer. But, I'll keep doing my routine until I get back on track.

Yesterday (Friday) was a decent eating day--I'd say weight maintenance level not weight loss level. Today (Saturday) is a day with our children and Miss Grandbaby. I'm going to not have much this morning and at lunch in anticipation of a larger dinner and grandparent treats that Grandpa loves to take Miss Grandbaby to go get.
It's 35º this morning where our sons live, so I need put on a few layers and then walk the RV park for at least 20 minutes this morning. I'm putting that here in this thread to hold myself accountable. This is a day that I do have time to exercise, so I must do that. I'll update this post when I did. Again, I'm really just talking to myself at this point.
