Weekly check in Only goal met was water. I am anticipating a very stressful week, therefore the only goal will be the water goal of averaging 45 ounces of water. 01/01/19 177.2 01/01/20 165.2 01/01/21 169.0 01/01/22 167.2 02/01/22 166.8 03/01/22 169.0 04/01/22 167.8 05/01/22 166.0 06/01/22 166.0 07/01/22 164.2 08/01/22 162.6 08/08/22 163.8 08/15/22 164.2 08/22/22 164.2 But you're at the same weight as last week. I consider not putting on weight as a win.

Up this week for the first time during my challenge, 206.6 this morning. Pretty sure I know what happened. Still on track with my challenge, and already planning for my next one.
Keep up the good work everyone!

A weekend of few restaurant meals out, a family member's BBQ, and some anniversary cake resulted in a 3-pound weight gain.

I know the feeling. It only takes me a week of not watching what I eat and not exercising to go up 3 pounds. It's scary.

Well, my doctor called today about my test results. She said everything looked good. My A1c went down to 6.4 from 7.1. I'm now at pre diabetes stage, instead of full blown diabetes as I was before. She believes I can come down to 5.7 and that would bring me into the normal range. That would be awesome. It's scary because she halved my Metformin dose, as I'm making improvements to my diet and exercise, and I will have to rely more on myself and less on the medicine. So now I have a goal to reduce my A1c for when I see her again in February. She said if I get to 5.7 in February, she'll reduce my dose then to the minimum.
Her only concern was that my B 12 vitamin was low, within normal range but low. So she said I have to get a supplement and start taking it daily.
Some very good news at a moment when I'm not doing well emotionally.

Thank you. It is great news, although I'm a little scared that my Metformin dose is now half of what it was. On one hand, I'm glad because I don't want to depend on medicines for my health. On the other, it means now I need to bring my A1c down to 5.7 with less help from the medicine. It would be great to bring my blood sugar into the normal range. The doctor believes I can do it.

Did not hit the water goal.
Not setting a step goal this week. Water goal will be average 45 ounces of water a day. It is going to be another stressful week. Not sure if part of weight loss is just water.

Ava, excellent job! We went camping over the weekend, which included a bit of high sodium foods. Between that and a round of Prednisone for something, weight remains a bit up. However, I'll remain grateful and focused.

Up again this week, but only one pound. I had a 4-day girls weekend, and we walked a ton. I tried to make some good food choices, while still enjoying myself. So I’ll say only a one pound gain is a win.
My first challenge ends this Saturday. Ready and excited to jump in to my next challenge right away on Sunday. It’s been working for me, and I’m excited to continue the progress and hit my goals!

Thanks for all the well wishes and the votes of confidence. It means a lot I don't know if I can do it, but I'm going to try. It would be fantastic to be in the normal range for blood sugar.

Very honest end of the month check-in: -Down 3 pounds since August 1st, but up 5 from my lowest August 19th. Prednisone and celebratory meals out contributed. -15/31 days exercise: Sciatica stretches, crunches, leg lifts, yoga. Crunches increased to 3 x 30 reps, leg lifts to 15 each. When I first started months ago, I could barely do 2 x 20 crunches. -Haven't been on the treadmill since late June or have used the hand weights since early July. -Watching sodium intake like a hawk. -Keeping up on my water intake. -Keeping stress at bay. -Getting at 9 hours sleep nightly. (ETA: Well, on the nights I don't toss and turn, LOL.) Here's to a new month, everyone.

Okay I am back. 145lb this morning. So doing nothing pretty much keeps me in the same area. I would like to lose another 10lbs, and then that should be a stopping point. I would also like to tone up, especially the upper body. I have no muscles up there, it has always been a weak point. I am just not sure which one to focus on for figuring out meals.
Goals for the week,
Work out at home with the weights I have when I get home from work. (This will be as soon as I start feeling a bit better, oldest brought home an annoying sore throat virus that I woke up with yesterday. Feel better today but still drained some. No fever and with her it lasted like 3 days. Also Thursday I will be going out after work so not that night)
Make sure I get enough protein in my meals, I tend to be very veggie heavy.
Take my vitamins because yea I still suck at doing that each day.
Reevaluate next week.

Somehow only up 0.1 lbs this past week. Must subconsciously be making good choices, and moving around more than I thought. Lots going on at home right now, so decided to start challenge #2 this coming Sunday.
Keep at it everyone! Small changes add up to lots of progress!

Lost the prednisone weight and then some. Minus 6.2 pounds in 6 days, for a total annual loss of 33.
Hugs to everyone.

We had company this past holiday weekend, and I served up too much food. At least I didn't regain as much weight as a "normal" holiday weekend. So, back to losing weight. At least I'm in better shape, and have a better attitude, than a mere 2 years ago.

Scale said 141 this morning. I am guessing some of that is water loss from less salt in my snacking this past week. I did work out 3 times. Thursday was a complete non healthy night for eating went to the pool hall with my friend, this Thursday looks to be the same. Friday I went out to dinner with my cousin, but that was a small local restaurant that uses all fresh ingredients, I am not counting that meal as unhealthy. Today I am meeting my aunt for brunch, another local restaurant but we will see how healthy I am. I am walking the distance to town and back to help out. I did not make the protein goal each day. I don't think I had any yesterday, and Wed it was pretty much the egg that was on my salad at work and that was it. Vitamins I think I made 5 out of the 7 days.
Goals this week. Thursday just isn't going to be a healthy day

Never thought I'd say these words: Last Wednesday while doing crunches I pulled lower abdomen muscles. After much Dr. Googling, I confirmed that's what it was which is fine with me rather it being digestive, etc. As of today, I'm getting back to feeling comfortable enough to work out. We shall see.

I'm doing well with my exercise. Food-wise, eh. I'm only so so on that.
I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago b/c I was having some digestive issues. I was a little unhappy with the scale there (but i had all my clothes and shoes on so in reality the scale wasn't that bad). I do think the doc appt and the meds he gave me helped me, b/c I'm feeling significantly better. Sometime soon I should probably hop on my own scale to see if I'm in line with where I want to be.
Hopefully now that I'm feeling better, I'll be more inclined to keep up with a healthy lifestyle. It's hard to stay on track when health issues crop up!

And 144 this morning. Went out to a bar last night with my cousin we had fun, not healthy choices. Besides that this week was pretty much hit and miss with all the goals.

Just back from the beach, where I ate all the food! Shocked DH, as he is used to seeing me eat small portions of everything. Like if I make any kind of sandwich I'm only eating half at a time., and the first night there we shared an app and I ate a huge mushroom burger and truffle mac and cheese on the side. (Definitely recommend Repeal Burgers in Virginia Beach.) DH said he doesn't know who I am anymore. 🤣
Scale shows 201 this morning, but likely a lot of water weight since I am showing dehydration signs. So, first up today is lots of water and I am at hour 16 fasting. Will likely end that soon as I need to hit the grocery store for produce.

Not doing great with eating. Just got back from a cruise, but all my walking kept weight the same. BUT…I'm preparing to retire the end of Oct, bought a house out of the area (closing 9/30) and packing up a place I've been in for 31 years, so to say I'm stress eating is an understatement!
it's all good stuff, but stressed none the less. I'm eating food that's quick and easy, like pizza. I pray I get back on track.

Already this morning I was back down to 199, even after pizza for dinner. So far today I am at 18 hours fasting- might try to make it to 20 to get back on track. The next couple of days will likely be mostly salads w/ a protein until I get back on track after vacation.
Still need to work on raising water intake.

ners, hope you're feeling better. Saturday DH and I went out for Thai appetizers, and I usually gain a few water pounds due to the sodium. I was mindful about my choices, ate only half and brought the rest home. And let's just say I could tell I didn't exercise while my body was recovering from the muscle pull. I restarted last Friday and already feel better.
