Did yoga today. My body feels much better. I need to do yoga. I know that. More and more, feel it. But I hate the idea of it. I keep trying to find someone I like on YouTube, someone that doesn't have that "annoying" voice but I haven't so far. And I really need to stretch all the tense muscles before that just ... crack, yikes. In short, do you recommend anyone I should check out? I just read in my AARP newsletter that you can access yoga videos on aarp.org

So I'm 61 lbs down since Jan 1, 2021. I only walked the dogs twice today because of the cold so I went to the gym and used the treadmill to make up for the missing walks. Then I did my swim/water exercises.

Weekly check in
Hit step goal. Hit water goal if you take an average. 2 nights had food after 9:00 PM. Need to work on getting out of bed on time.
Not sure what to expect this week. I am getting my booster on Friday evening.
Here are my goals.
1. Continue drinking water. Try to average 17 ounces as day. 2. 45000 steps. 3. Get out of bed on time. No more than 1 snooze. 4. Try to get into bed no later than 11:00 on weekdays. (Preferably by 10:30) 5. No eating after 9:00 PM
My weight is still below what it was when I broke my arm. However, I need to keep it that way and it is beginning to creep up.
Have a great week everyone.

I take vitamins twice a day and, each time, I fill a glass with with a bit of lemon juice and three cups of water. This helps me get at least six cups of water each day. I'm not always successful about taking my morning vitamins on days that I don't work but I do take them every night because my hormone pill is part of the mix at that time. Out of curiosity: Why do you aim for so little water? Or is that a baby step to increasing the goal down the road?

Great news! My DH went shopping for fat jeans, and was so disgusted looking at his profile in the mirror that he decided he was just going to lose weight instead, and stop the late night snacking (Personally, I think he looks just fine, but this helps me avoid it as well. I have zero willpower when others around me are eating things I like.)

Cardio on Saturday but nothing on Sunday. No binging, so that’s good. Not tracking in MFP very well though. Weight is not moving either direction.

Made it to my first lap swim at the Y yesterday! What a great workout. I only did 20 min, it really kicked my butt. Looking forward to the next one. I'll post a weight update tomorrow. I'm down a little from last week already, but hoping for a "productive" day today and down a little more by tomorrow morning. Keep up the good work all! ETA: Well I didn't hit my goal for the week, but still down from last week. I'm disappointed, but I guess not surprised. If that makes sense. New weight is 205.6, down almost 7 overall. Still feeling good in general, and happy with the changes I'm making. Shooting for positive progress again next week. Doing another lap swim tomorrow, I'll try for 30 min this time.

Good news and bad news here. The bad news is, I regained some weight over Thanksgiving (doggone pumpkin pie!) so I'm 2 pounds higher than my best right now. The good news is, I had my physical yesterday, and for the first time in awhile, my bloodwork was absolutely perfect. Every single item was "within normal range". In the recent past, I've generally had a couple of items that were outside of "normal". That was really good news!

Thank you for the suggestion, nidena, I've never even looked at that website, but it seems that there's quite a few different yoga channels on YouTube. I think trying few of those out last week, I did more yoga than in all of my life beforehand

62 lbs down this morning. I bought a sweater size medium today. Last year at this time I was an extra large.

Looking for little victories: I only had two pieces of chocolate at work today. I will not have wine tonight, so that's the third consecutive night without wine.

Well, so much for my normal exercise routine tonight. I just found out I might be getting company tomorrow morning. (Yes, I know. Housework counts as exercise.) My original plan was exercise, and writing Christmas cards. (Tell me again why people plan things like driving to see people when there's a blizzard on the way?)

Five weeks into saying I want to lose ten pounds by December 31st, I have lost exactly zero. I did go up three pounds and have now come back down to where I was on November 8th.

I am on the last hole in my work belt, guess it is time for a new one. DH had carved 2 new holes in it for me a couple of months ago. Scale not moving a lot though.

It was literally one of the shortest visits I'd ever had. If it was even a 1/2 hour, I'd be surprised, because they hit the road once it began to snow. This morning, FINALLY, I'm back to 30 pounds lost. Yes, Thanksgiving did it (and my love for a good piece of pumpkin pie). Not expecting any major changes between now & Christmas, so I'll just keep on keeping on...

Weekly check in. Hit my step goal. Hit my water goal. Only one night eating after 9:00 PM. Need to work on getting out of bed when the alarm goes off and going to bed earlier. That being said I need to get in some steps and do my last set of home PT. Upward creep of weight stopped last week.
This week's goals:
45,000 steps. Drink at least an average of 20 ounces of water. No more than one hit of the snooze. No eating after 9:00 In bed no later than 11:00 preferred by 10:30.
Have a good week everyone.

Oh. My. Word! I bought myself a cute set: workout leggings & matching bra top. I thought I wouldn't be able to fit into them for a few more pounds yet, but I couldn't resist trying them on. Wow! My thighs actually look really good. And, if I was a Kardashian, I'd be posting pictures of my booty. I am shocked & amazed that I actually look good in the leggings. I still need to tone my stomach some more, and my upper arms, but I actually surprised myself today. Life is Good!!

Well the scale finally moved. As of this morning, I am 6 pounds away from being under 200 for the first time in over 5 years. TBH, I was happy enough with my clothes fitting better. I think my happiest weight was between 170 & 175 when I got married. Any lower than that and I start to look anorexic, IMO.
With the short week before the holiday I am going to up my daily step goal from 15,000 to 20,000, because I know I will be more sloth from Thursday - Sunday.

I have been stuck at 62/63 lbs down for a while now. I've been good at eating clean but it's been too cold to do all of my walks every day. My focus now is to get through Xmas without binging on carbs.

I started Intermittent Fasting last week--dinner to dinner--after a few friends recommended it. I've fasted in the past but never intentionally so I'm going to see how this goes for this month.
I bought a scale at Costco yesterday. I got tired wondering how accurate the ones at the YMCA are--one is one where the weights are at the top and you slide them but it's in the bathroom and who knows how many times it's been kicked or whatever and the other is stored in a closet and pulled out to weigh people. Mine has found a home under the rack in the kitchen and I can slide it out when I want to step on it. This morning it read 218.4. Although I'll step on it often, I'm going to compare only the Monday morning readings to each other.
My goal is to be out of Plus Size clothing by May 2022. I want to be able to wear cute/snazzy business casual and dressy items to work and Plus Size options just...aren't. I want to look forward to getting dressed for work. I think it would help me want to go to work on the days that the brain gremlins are arguing.
One day at a time...

I'm at -31 pounds this week. Frankly, I don't expect to get any better between now & Christmas. I don't go crazy on the treats now, but I won't give up pie for the holidays. But, I WILL continue to exercise. I now fit into another pair of jeans I'd thrown in the back of my closet. After New Year's Day, I'll probably go through my pile of jeans, and see how many I can get into. This is the part of dieting that is fun.

I've forgotten to check in for a while!
I am not binging at all, so that's good! I've gone down two pounds, but that's not impressive. Cardio three times in the last week, so that's better. Not tracking calories at all, so that's not good.

Just started reading The Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung. I'm only a chapter or so in but I had to force myself to put it down to go to bed last night. So far, it's discussing the correlation between the dramatic change in the U.S. Food Guide in 1977 and the resulting distinct increase in obesity in America.
How "Eat Less, Move More" doesn't stick in terms of results.
How reducing calories in the short term ALWAYS results in a regaining of the weight that was lost and usually in the form of fat.
Very interesting read. I'm looking forward to continuing it this evening.

More energy, better skin, better sleep, no more sniffles...just to name a few. It has been life changing for me, and I don't say that about very many things.

It definitely aligns with what I've read in the Wheat Belly and Undoctored books by Dr. William Davis. I'm tracking my calories just so I know I'm not reducing them. I don't want my body to think I'm attempting a deficit.

I carbed it up yesterday so I need to go back to very low carb today. To be honest there was nothing I ate that was so wonderful. I got an ice cream maker for Xmas so I'm going to attempt a sugar free Raspberry Sorbet.
