A gentle reminder to be kind to yourselves.
If you didn't eat the way you had planned, that's okay. The next snack or meal is an opportunity to eat the way you did plan.
If you didn't get as much activity as you had planned, that's okay. Every next moment is an opportunity for activity.
Don't beat yourself up or you run the chance of living your life with a multitude of bruises from your own thoughts and words.
If you wouldn't say it to a child who is doing their best, don't say it to yourself either because you, like that child, are doing your best.

Friday I didn't make it to 10,000 steps but I made it to nearly 5,000 and had 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. Yesterday, I surpassed 10,000 and today, I'll surpass 12,000. I'm sitting at 11,940 right now with an hour before I fall asleep so I know I'll make those 60 more steps in going to the bathroom and then going to my bedroom. lol And it's a short week for the office, like for many people, this week so that works in my favor. More time to get steps in.

Weekly check in
Hit step goal. Improvement on water. Only one day of eating after 9:00 PM. Need a lot of work on alarm. Did okay on arriving at desk on time.
Monday and Tuesday are going to be very busy days at work. Because of the holiday my payroll deadline is early.
Goals for the week include 1. 45000 steps 2. Improve water consumption. 3. No eating after 9:00 PM 4. Alarm - work on getting up when alarm rings. No more than 1 hit of snooze button. 5. Get to desk on time.

It was such a busy weekend, that I didn't get in my usual steps, and now I'm paying the price. After the dentist this morning, I've got a bunch of phone calls to make, then I need to get my steps in. Yup, it's a Monday all right...

58 lbs down!!! I never used to get it when my dieting friends would care so much about one pound but I sure do now 😁 I'm at 177, being under 175 by Xmas would be great!

nidena, I concur with ners, I cannot like those words of encouragement enough! Yesterday I started tracking what I'm eating and being more conscious of portions. What a difference! Over lunch today I'm heading over to sign up the whole fam for membership at the Y. I was impressed on my tour last week, and if (sadly) we don't use it, we can always cancel. But I see it as a great opportunity for all of us to get in some activity, especially during these cold winter months. And the obvious help on my weight loss journey. Keep up the great work everyone. I'm so inspired by the progress I see here!

With one thanksgiving meal this last weekend and at least one this coming weekend along with my period, I’m not weighing myself this week.

AF has also returned for me with a vengeance after a 6 month leave of absence. I really thought I was DONE. Even my fat pants are snug right now.

Pictures are supposed to be motivational, right? Here’s one from this weekend of my granddaughter and I making pecan pie. I’ll use this to compare at every five or so pounds lost.

Both Wednesday and Thursday I did a great job on calorie consumption and having a reasonable amount of carbohydrates.

I don't know if it's the hormones or what but my waist is going in the wrong direction. I'm feeling so out of a shape that I want to be. Hell, I even look pregnant which is SOOOO not a good look when you're not. Ugggghhhh!

Thinking about joining Planet Fitness after work today. I need something to get me out of the house (and moving) during the winter.

I have a membership there. I just can't win the war with my head about whether it's safe. I'd feel much better in my old county where vaccination rates are way higher. My DH keeps saying he is going back and he probably needs it but he hasn't gone yet.

My DH keeps saying he is going back and he probably needs it but he hasn't gone yet. Yeah, we gave up our gym membership at the original shutdown in March 2020. In some ways, it was just the final straw. Since we live in such a small town, DH wasn't allowed to just "be" at the gym. Everyone wanted to talk to him about something to do with work.

I will likely join. I got the tour, and they were not pushy at all - I liked that. They had a lot of equipment, were not super crowded at 5PM, and the people working the front desk did not look like supermodels. No one there did, which made me feel more confident. Our house is too small to do much exercising in (at least until the kids move out). It is only an issue in the winter when it gets too cold to be outside. Plus my SAD kicks in when it starts getting dark early. I am hoping that hitting the gym after work, since it is usually getting dark by then, will get the endorphins moving and help with that. Add in that home is pretty chaotic and sort of out of my control right now and doing something just for myself is a foreign concept, but I need something besides work and home.

Did yoga today. My body feels much better. I need to do yoga. I know that. More and more, feel it. But I hate the idea of it. I keep trying to find someone I like on YouTube, someone that doesn't have that "annoying" voice but I haven't so far. And I really need to stretch all the tense muscles before that just ... crack, yikes. In short, do you recommend anyone I should check out?

Yes, I tried that one few times couple of years ago and it was a little bit less "annoying" than others (so sorry for being such a snowflake, something in their voices just gets to me, and I quit while fuming ). I also have foam rollers that I like to use, when I can get myself to do it, and have found some exercises on YT, but I'm always on the lookout for more.

Making some progress these last few days and it feels great! Weight as of this morning was 207.5, which is down almost 5lbs from when I started. The tracking (loving myfitnesspal once again!) and accountability here are a big factor, so thanks again everyone. I'm pretty proud of myself for doing so well at TWO Thanksgivings over the long weekend. And I made it to the Y for the first workout today. Scheduled to do lap swim in the morning as well. Feels weird to say, but already looking forward to weighing in next week to see where I'm at! Keep up the great work everyone!

I also have foam rollers that I like to use, when I can get myself to do it, and have found some exercises on YT, but I'm always on the lookout for more. Return and report time! Last night I went on YouTube and found Yoga with Adriene video. I got through it and the exercises were great but all the talking was very distracting for me. I still got through the whole thing. Afterwards I looked at the other videos that YT recommended and found a shorter one by another person. I was intrigued so I played that one and liked how much less talking there was. I ended up doing another one and liking it as well. I remembered that years ago when I was first looking for yoga videos for me, my kids were young so they were doing yoga geared towards kids and all the recommendations were probably similar. Yes, I looked up Adriene as someone mentioned it even then, and she seems nice and interesting as a person, I could probably hang out with her and chat but to actually do yoga, focus and relax, that wasn't working for me. I am curios to see how it goes from here. I'll try few more of the other videos and maybe I can watch Adriene's videos without the sound since I liked the workout. Thank you for reminding me, it got me started and looking at least!

Went on the elliptical tonight.
DH has been gone for work last night and tonight. I did NOT binge eat AT ALL! I’m honestly quite proud of myself. Usually, I’d take this unsupervised time to have brownie batter or something similar.
I’m still up a few pounds from the last time I weighed in.
