This seems apropos to this thread: I had one the other week! Pretty good. My favorite guava gose from a local brewery is back in cans. Life is good.

I'm watching too many bar tending videos. Now I think I need a bar spoon, 2 kinds of jiggers, a cocktail mixing glass, some trays to make oversize ice cubes and some "coupe" glasses! I really wish I was comfortable going to the bars because there are some drinks I want to try, but don't want to invest in all of the ingredients until know if I like them. Like an Aviation. Tonight I tried a gimlet. It was OK, but I like other liquor better than gin with lemon or lime.

I had never heard of a gimlet before a large group of us went out after a day of remodeling a friend's salon. one girl in the group ordered a vodka gimlet and the rest of us were like whaa....? that said, you can probably find a decent sale on bar tools at either Kohl's or BB&B. I bought some silicone ice cube trays at BB&B to bring with me to wherever I end up after here, after finding I liked them from using them in this rental. maybe $15 for two sets?

DH took a cooler to his sister's house and unloaded her bar coolers into it. I haven't looked to see what we got. She's moving south and it's too much of a hassle to move it 14 hours.

Get yourself creme de violette and Maraschino liqueur! I make aviations often, they are one of my absolute favorite cocktails. Plus, once you have Maraschino you can make Hemingway daiquiris. :-) I love gimlets. If you like a classic daiquiri then you'll enjoy a gimlet. Lovely summer sippers. I have these Nick and Nora glasses for classic cocktails (well, I bought a two pack, not a giant set of 12): www.riedel.com/en/shop/drink-specific-glassware-on-premise/nick-nora-041701205

I have a lemon and some limes, so that means tonight is a cocktail night!
Definitely starting off with an aviation then moving on to most likely a caipirinha.

So a big biker friend of mine posted a picture of the Corona Premier on his social media page and included the word nasty.... Let's just say he doesn't like it either, LOL! On a DVR'd rerun of Guys Grocery Games last night, one of the professional chefs made what he called a San Diego Smoothie. It contained the usual ingredients such as yogurt, berries and ice. Oh, and a bit of whiskey. Guess who's making one this weekend? Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

I had a margarita earlier this afternoon. Now I’ve moved on to vodka and Sprite Zero. I foresee at least one more drink my future tonight. It’s been a week and I’m ready to relax and tune out for a bit.

I kind of like hard seltzer! Goes down easy. This reminds me of a conversation with my cousin (B) at a bar one evening. Me: Let's do a shot! What do you want? I'll buy. B: I don't know. I never do shots. Me: What about Southern Comfort. Do you like that? B: I don't know. I never had it before. Me: I like it. It's sweet and it goes down easy. B: Like me? Me: (Points to the corner of the room) Go over there and think about what you just said!

It's supposed to be 100 degrees today. So to prepare, I have made a big pitcher of Sangria.

I am having a margherita. I need to finish the tequila so I don't worry about that glass bottle breaking on my way home in the rv. 😎 I will have several more. The 'kids' are having a rough time in ER this week. So many people, so much covid, too much dying. They are getting a trial by fire.

Sorry to hear about your kids having to deal with this at such a young age. I have a close friend whose son is doing his residency in Florida this year and she is worried. One of DH's cousins is finishing his residency in NY and has seen too many deaths also.

there's a guy I know from my music cruises, his go-to drink is Captain and orange. it actually tastes like a creamsicle. but damn if my teeth didn't hurt after taking just a sip. Monday is already living up to its hype. prosecco has been opened, with a splash of Cran-Pomegranite juice.

That and with the amount of sugar in that I'd not last long on something like that. I can only drink one margarita because they're so sweet. And that was before I went to unsweetened almost everything.

likewise on the margaritas. I usually have them pour mostly seltzer with a splash of the sour mix, that helps.

Yep, count me out on sweet drinks as well. However, I love creamsicle anything. The past few months I've been enjoying vodka with club soda and orange cream flavored water.

Well, we were drinking at 9:45 this morning. We stopped in the middle of our 4 mile bike ride for Mimosas at the new bar in the local nursery. ETA Image from their Facebook page.

that looks so relaxing, a great break!
after making a few calls this morning, and running around a little over lunch today, I just cracked open a bottle of prosecco to celebrate that I have an ACCEPTED OFFER for the house I looked at and just LOVED yesterday. WOO!!!
