Here is a source that lists every state with their current numbers of Coronavirus cases, deaths, etc. You can click on the source links to the far eight of the page for your state statistics. Some do an interactive map by county, some just have a list of cases. www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/?fbclid=IwAR2uBN4t68ssk2c9o7bwC5lcPwXn7zy39HVGBS4kBCa_0Qv0S4ebeOo-4vwThis is also a world list for all countries availabe and updated daily. Indiana has a pretty easy map of the counties, some states just have a list, but still it shows the areas of your state that may be in poor shape. If you live on a border of a state, I suggest you also click on that ste and check nearby county numbers too. Good luck. There is also another page on the homepage showing a second by second increases in births and other categories for the world, etc. Click on that and you can see the world is a happening place as the numbers fly by as they are updated...... I apoligize if there is already a thread with this source......

If a moderator thinks this is a good source to have for the board, please pin the thread so it does not get lost. If you do not think so, that is fine too. Kind of scary.......

Washington has dropped to 5th place with the lowest number of new cases. Gov Inslee must be doing something right. but, YIKES! Look at Louisiana!

Mardi Gras The state to really pay attention to is going to be Mississippi. They aren't just doing literally nothing to stop it, the Gov'n overrode city & county orders to close businesses & shelter in place. He's making it worse!

Has anyone figured the percent of infection to the population of your city and/or county?
H. did. It is alarming. The place we are now has high population so the infection rate is like .00000something. Where our summer home is, low population, 7.+% I also think cities where there are huge medical centers could be counting all new cases for that city or county.

I'm in one of the smallest counties in Georgia & we're batting 100%. 2 cases & 2 dead. Yesterday our cluster of small towns all ordered a shelter in place. 6 small towns & they all did it at the same time.

This is pretty much meaningless at current levels of testing and never an exact calculation in the best of times.

Our state is reporting number of hospitalizations along with number of deaths. I am following these as probably a better indicator of how we're doing than number of positive tests.

which, of course, is why Trump has gone full attack on him.

My DD is an EMT in ND rural area. They had to transfer a minor who said she had Covid-19 but it turned out she was lying to anger her mom. I'm sure Mom is p.o. An expensive ride. Anyone returning to ND is automatic 14 day quarantine.
All of the data we receive is confirmed reports from the medical front. Who knows how many are at home trying to get through the illness.
Tomorrow will be an explosion in the data since this is the weekend.

I'm waiting for the GOP voters to demand that pregnant women get $500 for their fetus, since they claim that fetuses are children.

Anyone have a link on what Gov. Inslee actually did? Gov Inslee just announced enforcement guidelines for the stay at home order again, smart, effective leadership.
the best way to navigate this is to put in EARLY restrictions, and ramp them up over time.
that is what they have done in every successful case of combatting this virus.

Indeed. Looking at the charts showing how long it’s taking for each state to double the death rate, WA is at 7. Compared with 2, 3, and 4

Washington has dropped to 5th place with the lowest number of new cases. Gov Inslee must be doing something right. but, YIKES! Look at Louisiana! Washington has now dropped to tenth, after being the first place to really have an outbreak. They initially had more cases than New York. New York now has 14 times as many cases, and that multiplier continues to grow. Is that the result of strong, decisive action to shut things down, rather than encouraging citizens to go out and live their lives as NY officials initially did? California has double the population of New York and one-eighth the cases. Again, they acted relatively quickly to shut things down. Donald Trump and the sycophantic red state governors are finally starting to get on board, although some are still acting against the leaders of their larger cities. Their toadyism has cost thousands of lives so far, with the potential for far more. How many will be enough, and will voters ever hold them accountable? Not hopeful. Not when the Blamer-in-chief can invent more targets, and spout more and more lies. From The American President, this sounds, as an indictment of at least a segment of the American people, pretty spot on.

The problem with comparing areas is there are so many other factors. I heard the NY governor and Florida governor debating this - NYC is densely populated with a large chunk of the population getting around on the subways and buses, which can retain the CV 19 on metal surfaces for a long time. Florida is more spread out, but has many, many retirement communities with sensitive populations.
However, those that got on the social distancing/ shut down all public areas/theaters/sports events/schools before the virus got a strong foothold are absolutely doing better than those who dilly dallied. Neither NYC or Florida did a good job on that, IMHO.

They did start fixing their problem sooner than most Republican governors, but New York does still have unique problems because of density, as mentioned. I am currently in Florida before returning to Washington in a few weeks. Comparing Florida with Washington, a week or so ago Washington had a few hundred more cases than Florida. Now, Florida has a few thousand more. Florida finally issued a stay home order so they may start to control it better going forward. Very inconvenient for me though, since they closed our community pool.

Here's another excellent site for Covid-19 tracking. If you've been checking out the worldmeters site and found yourself irritated that clicking on a US state did not bring up graphs, you can find those graphs here. dj posted a link to this site weeks ago. It's from the NYT and it is paywalled. However, it may be a part of the Times' free coronavirus coverage. If it is part of the free coverage, setting up a free account that will allow you access to this coverage is easy. (It is also very easy to resurrect an old account if you have forgotten your password). I wish that I had better information regarding whether there is a way to get to this site for free and how to do it but I got bored on Sunday and renewed my paid subsciption to the NYT. Perhaps someone who isn't paying the Times a dime could do some investigating and report back to us.
