Tbe staving off depression alone is worth ten times that, azucena . What a good idea.
Thanks for the encouragement. I slept like a rock afterwards so maybe it will help my insomnia by resetting my hormones. My second appt is tomorrow. Feels like a lot to spend, but for something like this I need to loosen the purse strings - I can afford it and probably can't afford not to.

I made some steel cut oats in my instant pot. I have leftovers enough for breakfast for the next three days.
The instant pot does a really nice job with steel cut oats.

After a stressful few days, I treated myself to chai tea both before and after my appointment with my therapist.
Talking to my therapist did me a world of good today.

I'm working from home today and tomorrow. better to save myself the germs from public transportation AND walking in whatever this afternoon's weather is called, while I'm still sick. it's about 58 degrees here, and breezy. pups and I are out back on the patio until it starts raining. this might be the last time I get to work from back here.

I will have Thursday and Friday off this week. I am looking to get my third tattoo and possibly do some early Christmas shopping.

I got a hotel room for Wednesday and Thursday night to save myself a 4 hour round trip into my training class this week. I'm trying to fight off a cold, so running myself ragged would not help.
Also in this category, I'm meeting my brother for dinner tonight.

When I was still working, the office had to be 40 miles from the temporary location, so we got a hotel paid for by the government.
After all these meetings about dad and my own call back on the mammogram, I am going to take a nap.

I was working until 11 PM last night because some other team did not do their work. It was still not resolved when I woke up at 3 AM, so I went back to bed and slept until 7.
I am still tired, but not as much as I would have been if I had stayed awake since 3.

Ha! Got all of you beat. There was a whole list of stuff to do today, dusting among the things on the list. I took care of myself and didn't dust.

Considering I am going through the most challenging situation ever of my career, and the anxiety that has come with it, I appreciate y'all being here. Because of the nature of the issue, I don't have much RL support. My goal will be to accomplish at least one thing daily. Tuesday evening: Worked out. This is a big deal since I haven't done this since early September. Thankfully, I have been able to stave off depression by keeping busy and working out will help.
Wed: DH woke me up when leaving before 5, and the above mentioned stress kept me awake. I took the extra time to lay out my yoga mat, do some stretching, and then journaled a bit. Later I had a dentist appointment, met with sis and niece to review some of her upcoming wedding things, and then walked the entire loop of the indoor mall. I took the day off. This AM: Slept in, had a leisurely breakfast and reviewed yesterday's Christmas purchases. ETA: And strolled into work just after noon.

I bought two new pairs of black heels at DSW. No more shoes falling apart while I’m wearing them. Plus, I’m going to see Doobie Bros tonight!!

I took a break from work and took the pups to the dog park earlier. after lunch that I intend to enjoy on the patio with a glass of wine, we're going to hit the canal for a walk. today is beautiful, and it's going to be shitty again the next few days.

Another rough night. Up from around 3:45 to 5:30 AM tossing and turning, so of course I didn't want to wake up when the alarm went off. No time to exercise this morning, but I am eating a healthy spinach salad from home and will take my usual vitamins after.

Life has been challenging. Today, I got my head out of my butt, and forgave me. It took a whole lot. Now I can move on. Great day.

Aldi already has Winternacht Christmas cookies and Stollen so I started out the day with a generous slice of Stollen with my coffee.

I get up, toilet, eat a bite, drink a little and go back to bed. I lay there as quiet as I can. Soon I'm asleep again.
I used to have pillow fights and cover wrestling trying to get comfortable. Something else that worked well. When I wake up from a restful sleep, I leave the pillows and covers exactly as they are. I get back in that position when I go to bed. My late brother gave me that tip.

I am resting my muscles and joints today. About every 2 hours I could rest my eyes or go to sleep. I've had electrolytes and enough protein and fluids.

I got my heat ducts sealed on a special offer. SRP payed most of it. Then I paid $135 check. I will get rebate check of $100. Soooo $35 to seal my heat ducts. I was a bye at Tennis and didn't know it. I came home and got a lot of extra house chores done.

Welcome to the thread IG and Nikki.
I'm finally not hurting. I worked out last Thursday and then we spent the weekend in the Dells, so I climbed a lot of stairs for waterslides and walked a lot. I also drank a lot. Didn't eat a ton. Spent a decent amount of time in the lazy river AND in hot tubs.

Great job for everyone STARTING to take care of themselves. I'm learning that in order to survive today, you have to take care of yourself, sometimes first. Otherwise, you're just doing damage control. So, since I ignore me most of the time, I am working on health (did my six month doctor appt). Health wise, I'm pretty good. Appearance, most days, I slog through. So, I'm paying more attention to how I look to me. I started last night by taking a nice hot shower and deep conditioning my hair. Still not happy with the cut, but, at least I don't look like a wild haired person. Waiting for it to grow out, but, I am managing that. I started looking at my attire. I haven't updated clothing style for quite some time. . It shows. Took actual time and picked out three new tops that I LIKED instead of just being functional. I hope to, each day, find decompress, me time. Not take care of DH or pup, job or family. It might be only 15 minutes, but, it will be better than nothing.

dogmom, sounds like the tops you chose brought you joy. Hi everyone! I've been out of town, hence not posting. And, naturally, I've been doing a terrible job taking care of me. Last week I did make an appointment with an actual cardiologist scheduled for a couple weeks from now. There's been an issue come up a few times while in different doc's office this past year, but they don't seem to find it urgent enough to send me to a specialist. So, I'm taking charge and will go from there. Other than that, I've made sure to take my vitamins, eat a daily salad, and drink water. I'll make a point of doing cardio, etc. this evening after work.

I exercised 3 of 4 days of the long weekend, including Thanksgiving. I took Saturday off to houseclean.
