I booked next year's big cruise today. interior cheapy cabin with a pair of low maintenance girlfriends. AZ is booking tomorrow (we book on seniority, he's "only" been sailing 7 or 8y lol...) and will be booking nearby. I'm winding down and heading to bed soon. tomorrow is back to a 330am alarm. just need to do this for another week and a half until I can start taking the train at more normal human hours. my.golden retriever is pouting in the bay window after a pretty fun-filled day. that makes me really sad. Welcome to the wonderful world of parenting!

I normally work 7a-5p Mon-Wed, 7a-4p Thurs, and 7a-Noon on Fri. Today (Thurs), I will be at work until at least 5p for a staff awards event, so yesterday I went ahead and left at 4p. And when I got home, I mowed the back yard (mowing the lawn is a meditative activity for me), we took the dogs on a short walk, and then had left over smoked ribs that C made this weekend. It was a great evening at home, and I ended up with over 17k steps for the day.

I went to the gym and lifted weights. I also used the Precor. I'm bad about doing cardio. I also read the newspaper while riding the recumbent bike. I quit the paper because every subscriber is charged a different amount for less and less content. I alleviated my concern about a tennis group that I have nothing to do with but who gossips unmercifully about me when I recalled Ex 14:14. I do not understand how they can beat the drum that I am ruining the intermediate tennis program when there is no interaction. The mob of bullies that they are is what is ruining the intermediate program. I also see a religious denomination issue.

I woke up about 6:30 a.m. and over came my soft barrier of the full gym bag with towel, etc., for the small one and shower at home. The scale was friendly and showed body weight reduction. A small triumph leads to more success. I'm trying to drop the boredom eating.
Two people were disappointed the Sunday newspaper was not at the gym. We don't know if it's stolen or what. Big Lots has the rose bistro set that I wanted for $99. I told myself I already bought it. And how do I feel now? I would seldom sit at it. Of course, today is cold and rainy. I could use the set for outdoor art. So back I am on wanting it.

I just did what I wanted to do. I worked hard for about 4 hours, about my limit. But I then had to go out after my bath and take down my clean bedding. The sheets were all dry, the mattress pads almost. I threw them in the dryer. They all smell so good, I love sun dried things.
It was a good day, the flowers are just looking beautiful. I used the rooting stuff on the new plants, I'm sure it won't hurt them.

I sweated in pickleball. That antiperspirant is supposed to last 48 hours. It lasts maybe 2. As I was leaving I see a guy with a drenched shirt. Okay, mine wasn't so bad.
I could smell myself burning fat. The remainder of the day was very pleasant until the quinoa recipe.

On Sunday I made/supervised my 11 year old making muffins from scratch. Ok, I got to cut the fruit as we didn't have any blueberries so we had blackberry/strawberry muffins. Then I went and played in the yard for like 6+ hours. The yard looks so much better now. I'm stiff, sore and sunburned but proud of myself.

I got my hair done today, first time since January.
It needed it, and it looks great. Balayage. But holy mother of pearl it cost a ton. A ton.
I switched to this salon because my other hairdresser was making some comments that I didn't enjoy (judgmental, racist, etc.), but darn if I couldn't get 3 dye jobs for the price of this 1.

Yes, yard work fulfills so many things in me - fresh air, sunlight, hard work, exercise, a feeling of accomplishment, and likely to last longer with kids coming along behind to mess it up like housework. I've decided it's completely okay to prioritize outside work for all of these reasons especially since it's just a week or two before it's too hot to do it anyway and then I can go back to doing inside work.

The yard still needs more work. But I've got 3 black trash bags of weeds/grass; plus a big pile of brush from the trimming I did. And we're not discussing the twigs and sticks I left in the yard because my arms were shaky after using the trimmer on the bushes. My problem is that I"m not good at making time to go back and keep on weeding the flower beds over summer.

I played tennis with friends this morning. The bad thing was I was trying to hit an overhead and the ball dropped and hit my upper lip. The sun was in my eyes so that didn't help. It's okay. No swelling. H. is familiar with hits to the mouth. I did have my mind on something I should have left behind. So far, I have eaten nutritious food. The weather is sunny and beautiful after so many rainy days in May. Of course, after the Memorial Day weekend which is kickoff for camping.

I went to my doctor today for a 'refill' checkup on my antidepressants. So I'm good for another 6 months. I love that she has 7am appointments. So nice when I can get them. We talked about camping and trailers too.

I washed my face!
And for the past 2 - 3 months I've been following a new routine as suggested in the Style Thread in YMOT: I wash twice daily with plain water, following up with Cerave in the a.m. and retinol cream in the p.m. and twice a week I also exfoliate. I also now am the proud owner of a foundation cream, which I've not really used in the past. Plus some new lipsticks, which I also use several times a week.
I feel better making an effort and believe my skin looks better, too.

I'm watching Good Omens on Amazon Prime this week - 1 episode a night. DH is watching it with me. We're both enjoying it. He's never read anything by Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman, although he's seen both Doctor Who episodes that Gaiman wrote. But it's making me ridiculously happy to watch it with him.

I decided to take a day off from dealing with Dell. It's consumed too much energy since Saturday and I need a break. Moved to tomorrow's agenda for that reason.

Someone else took care of me today. I went to visit my 90 year old friend. She won this in a church raffle and gave it to me. Brand new, in the box, never been opened. I'm going to make cream of leek soup when I get around to buying some leeks.

We're only 3 episodes into the series, but OMG David Tennant's swagger.

Dell called and is sending me an email. It may delay my response to Dell's upper management until tomorrow while I digest what they told me.

Wisconsin Beth - We were commenting that we think the direction was - Ok Tennant, pretend you're an exaggerated Gaiman. Okay Sheen, pretend you're an exaggerated Pratchett. We also noticed the new witchfinder's tie (when going to the job he immediately lost) was The Doctor's scarf.
And so, to stay on track for the thread, we are also watching an episode of Good Omens each night, as a way of decompressing. Today, I will go to Weight Watchers, then go have dinner with BFF, BFFIL, and BabyBoy(BB). That does mean I will get home too late for an episode tonight, though.

I’m getting my hair cut and colored. And, bc I’m lazy, I’m picking up a pizza on the way home for dinner. All of this is making me feel good today!

I did dynamic stretching this morning. Bared my soul on one of the narcissist thread. Washed the sheets and made the beds. Cardio dance. Nap after lunch then movie with friends. We ate out, caught up, and made plans for next week.
