I like this idea! It's still early in the day for me, but I'm about to get dressed and go to the barber for a hair cut. I always feel better when my hair is on point. I'm going to the grocery store afterwards, I'm ready to get back on my clean eating kick. BF wants us to ride our bicycles after he gets off work. Riding my bike is a great stress reliever for me, but I'm lacking in motivation at the moment. We'll see.

Running/exercising is usually the only self-care I manage most days. This morning, I did 3 miles after I dropped the kids off at daycare.

Yesterday I used an audible credit to get the new Carolyn Forche memoir, What You Have Heard is True. I am traveling this weekend, so I will get to listen to it then. I am super excited.

We will be off to the cardiologist soon. I'm asking if I can go back to the fitness center to start walking and working out again, they may require approval.
It is beautiful out, so going to the city is a good thing. When I get home may sprinkle my phosphate that is left on my fruit trees, I have more on order.
Need to make appointments for DD and I to go to chiro and get massages, ahhhh.

Today I booked my registration and travel for a writing conference I want to attend. It's being run by one of my favorite authors. It won't happen until July, but I am super excited.

I bought flowers, 3 bundles at Fresh Thyme were $12!! It fills my large vase. Their flowers are so pretty.
Dinner was another baked blackened salmon, steamed green beans and fingerling potatoes,
Not another heart attack, he says about the same, but with the higher cholesterol thinks I need statins, we are going to try a shot twice a month that is very expensive if the insurance approves it, I self administer. He has assured me no intense muscle pain, we shall see. Have to have lipid test first. He is going to give me samples.

I’m waxing my legs this evening. Tuesday is my “I’m not parenting” night (DD has a class) and usually I clean or do other chores. If I get done in time, I might give myself a pedicure.
ETA: that means if I’m sober enough to paint my toes. Leg waxing hurts! so I numb the pain a little.

So, a lot of my self care currently consists of saying "No". My cousin decided to take my Mom and her Mom out for dinner for my Mom's birthday. I didn't know about it until a couple hours ago, and politely declined to go.
I'm still doing laundry and getting things together to prepare for my work week that starts tomorrow. If I'd had advance notice, I would've gotten those things out of the way yesterday or earlier today. I keep telling people I don't like last minute stuff, but they don't listen! It seems like everyone believes I just sit around and twiddle my thumbs all the time, waiting on somebody to give me something to do.
As it is, I am now enjoying having my house all to myself for the first time in almost a year. That's a pretty big deal to me.
So, the self care part was saying no and sticking to my plans for this evening so I won't be frazzled for the next few days.

It may seem petty, but I hate when people put me on hold - especially friends. It seems like I am not that important as whatever call is coming in and I refuse to stay on the line after that.

I'm with both of you. I do not like last minute invitations and if we are together or talking on the phone and I'm told I will call you back, I have a call coming in.

I slept for 6 hours last night. It was glorious.
If I can get my tax stuff done at a decent time, I'm going to knit and watch one episode of tv.

I have been leaving early from the office this week - exactly 8-8.5 hours after I get in and trying not to work more.
I am also taking off Thursday and Friday since I have a lot of vacation and need to chill for a couple days.

I'm getting my nails done tonight, and my hair done tomorrow, in prep for vacation on Friday! It's a terrible time of year work-wise to be going on vacation, but I just don't care. I need a break and that's important too.

This morning, I took ibuprofen within an hour of realizing I had a headache (instead of toughing it out for 3-4 hours, like I normally do), and given that I still have a headache, I just took another round.

Last night I went to sleep on time. And actually got some sleep! I've had sleep issues for years, but it's been a bit better this past week or so. Maybe that's a sign that I'm on the right track with making myself a priority and taking better care of me.
I'm cooking sides for the roast I had cooking in my Crockpot while I was at work today. I haven't been cooking regularly or even often TBH, but I'm trying to get back on track with eating less processed and restaurant food.

I was up to late last night. Hubs wanted me to help at the old church where we take care of the yard. He spent part of yesterday and most of today picking up stick off our 4 acres. A tenants brother showed up and he said, talked and talked so delayed him. I was going to go to the church and drive the truck and trailer around the yard while hubs picked up limbs.
So instead I mopped, vacced, and did laundry and would relax in between. I want and need to wipe my kitchen cabinets down. If you get close to the bottom ones they have spots all over and above the stove I can see grease. Need to get on that.
Today was beautiful outside, had windows and doors open.

I went for a walk after eating lunch. there's a music venue a couple blocks away from my office, where I'll be seeing a Friday night show for a couple artists from my cruise. I bought my ticket yesterday, no fees at the box office. this morning, I hit up the group I'll be meeting and offered to grab tickets for any of them that didn't already have theirs, to save them fees. I picked up some today, will be going back for a couple more tomorrow for late replies. it's gorgeous out today, I did not want to come back inside.

I went out to lunch with my mom.
My MIL is taking my older son tonight and dropping him back off on Tuesday. So only one kid this weekend instead of two, which is a nice break.

Hot tub was relaxing but weird by myself.
Did a 30 minute chair massage at the airport just now. Feel like a whole new person.

(Says the overworked woman who should have realized her sinuses were clogged that bad, before I had to take a sick day)

I did not sleep well. Up several times. I felt like fingers touching my temples, one side of my mouth and then all over my face. Later it felt like similar on my brain. It occurred to me that I might have some kind of migraine. Or attack by mentalists. Or medicine side effect.
I pulled out of the groggy and went to cardio dance. I am looking for billiard tables to play with my grandson. The bowling alley didn't have any. The old gym downtown doesn't. The college is out unless a student.
H. was going with me to the senior center but got busy selling something online. I drove across town. 15 minutes before they closed early. I paid my dollar and used my brand new pool cue for 10 minutes. The senior center pool table area is closed all of May.
More good. I had a pickle for snack. It's a beautiful day.

Slept great last night. Pickleball with weight lifting and run/walk while waiting to play again.
I used to run in my 20s. H. beotched me out of it saying he wouldn't pay for my knees. The new surface on the running track feels like it is body friendly. Day 3 of not getting a reward ice cream cone!
