I couldn't drag myself out of bed for a morning workout today. I usually try to workout a couple mornings a week, so I can spend more time with DH in the evenings after work. So, I'll be walking on the treadmill tonight when I get home. I used to be so much more disciplined about getting up in the mornings to work out. I really need to get back to it. I feel so much better during the day when I can make morning workouts happen.

I'm down another .3 pounds today. Decided to weigh only once a week now and picked Fridays. I'm at 187.3 which is down a total of 9.1 pounds from my starting weight (the highest weight I could find in my scale app from back in September at 196.4).
My treat food tonight will be red lentil curry. I'll use light coconut milk and add orange veggies probably carrot, bell pepper, and sweet potato with the onion. Not sure if I'll use rice or just eat a big bowl of it. I'm saving something like pizza or nachos for tomorrow.
Aiming for another day of getting at least 3 quarts of water. I think that really reduced my appetite yesterday. I'm not sure if being properly hydrated will always have this impact or if eventually it "wears off" and I did use MIO drops for the 2nd and 3rd quarts of water I drank. Trying to limit that to 1 quart only today.

I am not going to lie, the last 2 days I have not eaten the best....and have drank a lot of alcohol. The first night I went and stayed in a hotel with my husband for some alone time from our kids and dogs. I had 2 drinks and a huge dinner. Then yesterday I went with my friend for pedicures. I didn't eat a lot, but I did have 2 drinks.
Those were my only 2 planned bad eating days for the month. They have been planned for weeks. So, I should be good and be able to eat better and limit my drinking to 1 glass of wine a week.

I've decided to weigh myself on Mondays and Fridays. I am down half a pound since Monday.

I still hav not weighed. I really need to remember. I just never weigh myself so I never know.
I am going to see if I can find some really good arm exercises. I also started doing lunges with weights even though I hate it. I'm starting to get used to it. And I bumped up my weight on the squat machine to 160 pounds. It wasn't horrible.

I really want to get my arms toned way up and am considering adding a gym day for a total of 5. This day would primarily focus on arms. Is that crazy? How long do you spend on weight lifting in a session? If you have two arms days, two legs days, one core day, five days makes sense to me.

So, I weighed myself - this morning - since you weigh less in the mornings right?? 158.5 - I was pleasantly surprised - I thought for sure I was in the mid-160's (because I have been there). So, that will be my starting point. And since I was under 160 - I ate a donut this morning at work - it was a small one and totally worth it. Walked on the treadmill last night for 25 minutes - 3.7 pace and hills. It felt good. I also didn't sit on the couch until 7:45 - I go to bed at 9:00 and read for 30-45 minutes. That was a success too. There have been times I am camped out on the couch by 6:30. I often find myself in the same type of rut. I’m only about a month ahead of you in getting out of it.

I’m annoyed about it, but I also don’t have the willpower to do it on my own.

How long do you spend on weight lifting in a session? If you have two arms days, two legs days, one core day, five days makes sense to me. Not very often. My routine is probably what needs to be tweaked. So Monday and Wednesday I do a half hour of floor exercises, the 20 minutes of spin, then 10 minutes of stretching then an hour of zumba. Tuesday and Thursday are half an hour of weights, then 20 minutes on the elliptical or treadmill, 10 minutes of stretching then an hour of zumba. I don't really have arm days or legs days. Maybe I just need a dedicated arm day.

I would have peed the bed had it not made more work for me. I'm now at work, and getting out of my chair is, um, interesting.

I've been trying to work out in the morning. If I wait it becomes less likely to happen. I worked out on Sunday, Tuesday, and today (Friday) this week. I plan on working out tomorrow too.

I'm extremely grateful that I just had 18 days off work because it helped me establish a workout routine. I've worked out five days in a row this week and I am planning on today being my rest day. Tomorrow I will do an hour long barre video. During the week I will stick with 30-40 minute videos since that works best with the whole work/cook dinner/relax/sleep schedule.
Last night I did a short walking video. It was fun! I opted to do that versus going to run club with my husband because I wanted to avoid beer (our club meets at a brewery). I am planning on Sunday being a beer day (Go Birds!) so I am NOT having beer until then.

I am still waiting for my new foot brace. I called today, oh was delayed because of the holidays, oh really, has been way longer then the 2 to 3 weeks, she said should be by the end of next week, so we shall see. I don't think I can do much without it.
DD is my big worry, I told her today, lets just start out slow with her walking up and down the basement stairs twice and out to the mailbox. I want to start her out gently. Poor girl is 5'3" and now weighs almost 195. The doc thinks its lack of activity, she lays in bed all the time but also the drugs she takes to help control her anxiety etc. She will never be thin and its going to be a huge fight but I will do it again. I have to be able to walk better myself though. Hubs thinks its pointless for me to try to help her, I said I just have to.
I have weight watchers and Mediterranean cookbooks ordered. I am going to work from the food end and try and to reduce the calories in. She will eat it. I also bought a sushi kit, yes I could make it without it, but got nuri and the sushi rice. She loves vegetable with avocado, carrots, celery and rice. We found the really good pickled ginger in New York so both of us are happy with that. I am not making any new years resolution. For me I intend to lose weight if I can. For DD, will work with her and try, with hubs, its entirely up to him. I can present good healthy food. He will just likely eat more, we shall see.

She did do it, not much but any activity for her is better then nothing, we will do this once a day, then next week try to add a 3rd trip up and down the stairs, its good for her and me.
Tonight will not be a healthy meal, or I should say not low fat. I found baby back ribs in the freezer, making some baked beans, and mac salad. Last night hubs didn't get much so feeding him tonight. DD will eat ribs and mac but not beans
I am anxiously awaiting my new cookbooks and sushi kit, to add low fat variety, hopefully.

Ah well, I don't consider having 2 alcoholic drinks two days in a row to be a lot And for me it is the unplanned eating and drinking that is worse than the planned. That's what I am trying to get a handle on now.

My drive in is about 45 minutes and home about 65-75 minutes. I thought that I'd use the time not commuting to work out or even go work out at lunch, but I haven't done a dang thing.

For your DD I imagine more activity will just help the anxiety as it should increase her endorphins and improve her mood too. Don't you have a dog? Will it play fetch or go on walks with DD? That might be something she is willing to do too that will get her heart rate up.

No, she won't do that, and BJ is almost 15. I got her to walk to the mailbox. Tomorrow we can go all the way around the circle drive. As sedentary as she is likely the stairs gets her heart rate up.
I'm doing this to get her back to the fitness center. I'm waiting on my foot brace to come in to see if I can go back to walking and exercising more, she won't like it, but I will keep encouraging her. We went last winter then I started having issues both foot and heart and had to stop.

Just have to see what I can do, one day at a time. With her, simple requests can deteriorate into a days long fight. Somethings are not worth it.

Bobosensei- I really like intermittent fasting. I aim for a 16 hour fast, but it usually ends up being 17 or 17.5 hours because i finish eating dinner before my eating window is up. I typically eat between noon and 8, but you can do whatever hours work for you. There are also a few different types of intermittent fasting. This is easiest for me. I did it religiously for a month last summer and lost 10 pounds and felt great. But then I stopped doing it and with the holidays I gained everything back. I don’t drink coffee, so I do plain water only during the fasting period. I’ve been down a pound a day so far this week. Obviously that rate is not sustainable, but it’s definitely motivating me to stick with it. The first few days are hard but then it’s easy. You just have to distract yourself.
