So...cookie dough for lunch was probably not my best choice. My second adult beverage is not my best choice. Do not be too hard on yourself. Tomorrow will be better. I had 5 beers last night if it makes anyone feel better about themselves.

And I baked cookies so DD would have something for her lunch. I ate 7. Today is a whole new day, right?

Yes. The clock has been reset. I'm so excited it's going to be in the 60s today. I'm taking the twins to the park. They need to run. They're starting to get a little thick.

I had three bourbons. I sweated it out just now, lol. I did 50 minutes of B3. A 10 minute thigh-awakening warm up, a 30 minute video that incorporated weights a good bit, and a 10 minute restorative video to cool down and feel my zen. Let the day begin!

I'm about to pour my 2nd glass of wine as I sit and relax with football. I have been all over my house all day, up, down, basement. too bad the Sweatcoin app doesn't track steps indoors, b/c I would have maxed out today. I do feel badly that I didn't take the pups anywhere today in the nasty rain. if those of you west of me had a beautiful day, there's hope for tomorrow.
so for now, it doesn't look like I'm getting that two week head start on my new normal, but that may change as I talk to more people on my way out. I have a lot of things to say, and the powers that be haven't wanted to hear any of it so far.
oh, and weight - I hopped on the scale this am, now that AF has left me for the month. I'm back where I was before Christmas, just a few lbs up from baseline. I can work with that.

I know it's only Jan 5,but I haven't cheated with my eating yet. Not one bad bite. But....I haven't increased my exercise as much as I planned to.

I think I'm going to try to concentrate my workouts more. I was trying to always spread the exercises across my whole body every day. I think I'm going to concentrate them and see how it works. Monday and Wednesday will be arm days. Tuesday and Thursday will be leg days. I'll go one more day for core. Probably the extra day will incorporate a little arm and leg too since I won't have zumba. Monday through Thursday will also include zumba since I can't give it up. Maybe I'll do it for January and see if I build more muscle. I'll keep you all posted.

Today we are meeting DS2+GF for lunch and then taking DS3 to the train station.
So back on a strict diet after lunch today.
I weighed myself this morning: 137.5 lbs/62.5 kilos, so I gained 2 lbs/1 k over the holidays.
Now to lose the last 5.5 lbs.
I'm still on a reduced schedule this week, so less walking/running around than when I'm working.

I am not going to lie, the last 2 days I have not eaten the best....and have drank a lot of alcohol. The first night I went and stayed in a hotel with my husband for some alone time from our kids and dogs. I had 2 drinks and a huge dinner. Then yesterday I went with my friend for pedicures. I didn't eat a lot, but I did have 2 drinks. Those were my only 2 planned bad eating days for the month. They have been planned for weeks. So, I should be good and be able to eat better and limit my drinking to 1 glass of wine a week. Ah well, I don't consider having 2 alcoholic drinks two days in a row to be a lot And for me it is the unplanned eating and drinking that is worse than the planned. That's what I am trying to get a handle on now. It is a lot for me as of late. When I was going through my really rough year and having constant anxiety attacks, I was also drinking a lot. I don't think I was at the point of needing an intervention or anything, but it was a lot. Now I try to limit my drinking to just a couple a week. Many weeks I go by without drinking at all. I am not against drinking or anything, I just wanted to get mine under control before it became a problem.

I tried that intermittent fasting. I failed. I tried it and thought I was going to die of starvation after just a couple hours. I was a huge fail.

I canceled my Shakeology shipment. At the end of the day, I just didn't feel good about spending that much money on a protein shake. We are trying to pay off debt and it is really expensive.
I have been doing ok with not eating out. We had a couple of planned meals out because we had tickets and hotel reservations before I started this thread. I didn't go too crazy, but I probably could have made better food choices when I ate out.
I have been doing a much better job cooking at home. That has saved us a lot of money, and it is so much healthier than eating out.
Smoking-well I failed the last couple of days. A situation happened a couple of days ago that really stressed me out and I smoked a couple of cigarettes. I threw the rest away last night, so I am trying to not buy more. I am not sure why this time it is so much harder for me to quit. When I quit many years ago, I did it cold turkey with no problems. This time....it is much harder.

Anyone in for a plank challenge this month?? I know it's the 6th already, but that means less days to actually have to do it!
I did 1.30 this morning. I'm going to try to increase it by 3 seconds every day which should get me to just under 3 minutes by the end of the month. I've tried that before and could never manage more than about 2 or 2.5 minutes at a time, but maybe this is the year!

I need to be on my computer to write out my plan and goals. BBL.

Regarding planks: My PT home routine is 30 seconds--regular plank 15 seconds--right side 15 seconds--left side Repeat 4 times (for a total of five sets) Do every other day; gradually increase time
My current level is to complete that three times. My first goal is to get up to five sets. My second goal is to increase time. I won't even state a time increase until I've gone a full week completing five sets.

Isn't it interesting how we all have different approaches? I've always heard of it being a certain muscle group day. When I was consistently weight training, in my early 20s, that was what most people I worked with did. The reasoning was that muscles need a chance to rest in order to actually grow.

Forced rest day for me. We went to a fundraiser at a bar last night and I stood for over three hours. My hip is throbbing. If I didn't have places to be and an Eagles game to watch it would be a pain killer day. It's all good, gotta listen to my body!

I can’t believe how expensive Pilates is. 😢 I agree, yoga too. Do you have a smart tv at home? There's a ton of both on youtube. Free, and I don't have to go out in the cold.

You have to buy special footgear as well. $20. The intro class is free. Except for the $20 footgear. Like hospital socks. I think I’ll cancel the intro class. No need to get pressured into an unreasonable expense.

I never bought any special socks for pilates. In fact, everyone in the class usually is barefoot in class.

I'm joining this thread as well. I need a couple of complete lifestyle changes.
I'm a baker and my job is to make delicious hand rolled and filled croissants and hand cut and decorated cookies. Temptation is literally right in front of me whenever I work. I also have a bad cracker and cheese habit. I eat lots of healthy foods as well, just too much of them.
My cholesterol is high and if I don't get it under control I'm going to have to take medication every day, which I've been ducking for a couple of years.
I need to shed 40 pounds. I'm short and currently resemble Winnie the Pooh.
I need to figure out a reasonable sleep schedule. Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays I get up at 1:30 am to go to work. Fridays I get up at 5 am. The other three days are all over the map. DH works M-F until 5 pm then we eat dinner between 6 and 7. So I don't want to go to bed immediately after dinner. Next thing I know it's 9 or later and I only have a couple of hours to sleep. I am perpetually sleep deprived. Which makes me hungry as well as tired. I do nap some afternoons but that just makes me go to bed later.
I also am completely inflexible. I was pretty much immobilized for months when I shattered my elbow. Walking is fine. Sitting is fine. Bending, stretching- not good at all. My left elbow has limited mobility and will never get any better. It also hurts all the time and that isn't likely to change. It's the rest of my body that I can and should do something about.
On a positive note. DH has agreed to go to the gym with me. I'm thinking twice a week with him-Saturday afternoons and Wednesday after work since I'm off that day. He's a somewhat reluctantly agreed to go at all. He leads a very sedentary life. I can go other days after work without him.

zibazinski I'd go to the introductory class. Don't worry about the socks. I have wanted to do Zumba but I am too lazy to commit to a class. Here they're either evenings or Friday mornings. I don't teach on Fridays but since I don't, there's NO WAY I'll leave the house on Friday mornings if it's not a matter of life or death.
Also I am in an amateur theater troup and I have rehearsals two nights/week this year (till late Feb). I refuse to commit to anything else, the theater is already too time-consuming.
I found some Zumba workouts on YT but I want to be alone to do them. (DH works from home.)
