I think that same Cleveland picture was used to describe a pre-election trump rally too. The trump campaign got called out that time also. I was right. It is the second time the Cleveland pictured was claimed as a trump rally. But it was Laura Ingraham who claimed it in 2017, and not trump's people (though one can say Ingraham is a major supporter/backer and apologist for trump). Is This a Photograph of the Trump/Cruz Political Rally in Texas?

Okay, I clicked on your link, read the article, but I do not see who originally posted the Cleveland photo on a twitter account. Can you tell me what Republican person or group posted the original tweet? For f... sakes, anyone can post anything on twitter. If it does not lead back to an actual Republican supporter of any significance, it is just bullshit being put out there by anyone. countrygirl2 said the repubs did it. Even the Cleveland newspaper did not post a source in their article that I could find. Is there an original source of the original posting that I missed?

I'm not shuddering, I know there is more at stake in this election then any in my lifetime. The repubs know it too or they wouldn't be disenfranchising voters. They are being foolish, the dems may not take over this year or next or even a few years after that. But us old white folks are dying off, its a matter of time until the country changes. The wisest thing would be to see illegals are educated, we all have healthcare. They have a way to come legally and being included so that they can pay into taxes also, and not stay illegal and work under the table, getting but not paying. Everyone needs to be treated with respect. If this does not happen we will end up with an unstable government and fighting from within that will destroy the fabric of our country. We have a chance to be inclusive. The repubs are fighting the inevitable, its not going to end well. It may even happen in my life time. With the massive debt we are creating we will end up a 3rd world country.

If you feel so strongly about allowing them in the country, I think you should put them up in your rentals free of charge for a couple years so they can get on their feet. You can do the talk. Do the walk.

I don't feel strongly about them coming in. They are already here, you are kidding yourself if you think you are going to keep them out. I don't like the idea our country is changing either, but it already has. Your hero reagon started it, if he hadn't given amnesty back then and if through the years the laws against employers had been enforced by both parties we would not be where were are now.
We lived in Texas for 30 years, I saw the mess, I saw the problems. but the rich wanted that cheap labor. They left us all to deal with their problem they created, they made enough money off them to live above it. We moved back because of his mom but that wasn't the total reason, I didn't like how it was either. But instead of legally doing what needs to be done to fix it, they are just blustering and going on.
Tell me how you are going to fix it? None of you are doing it, employer sanctions is the way, no jobs, no draw. Then yoy have to get Americans to work at those jobs that pay little and live 10 to a house, good luck with that.

It is not racism as claimed. It is to recapture what is, or was good about America. If you do not follow laws, you have no country. You expect our state and federal government agencies to pay the migrants because they are poor and pay for their healthccare at the hospitals, while ignoring the citizens, and yet you also demand our government help the citizens when you know there is not enough money to take care of our citizens let alone illegal migrants. You know they are coming illegally and you throw your hands up and say oh well, what can we do it about it? We can not stop them so let them in. Sorry, we send troops to protect foreign country's borders and yet you say we cannot protect our own borders because it is not fair to anyone who thinks they can move here. Kruschev was correct, we are soft and will be buried.

DS was venting about our election as well as Georgia's. He's already sick of voting for the lesser of two evils. Welcome to the real world where moderates don't run and rabid people do.

If you think trump is fixing anything better think again. All he is doing is destroying and giving more money to people like him. As they are saying on Squawk Box and the stock programs when he goes through with this 25% tariff after the first of the year he is going to crash it all. Some are arguing otherwise that china will blink, I don't think so as many others don't. All he is doing is blustering, threatening, giving tacit approval to people like this bomb guy and making us the fools of the world. He could be effective if he were doing it right. But these companies even if they can't buy components are not bringing these jobs back so dream on. This is short term, that is going to cause inflation, maybe shortages, and loss of markets, long term, way more involved in that not going into it. Just got up, not in the mood this morning.

It is not racism as claimed. setting aside your assertion that anyone claimed MAGA is "about racism" for a minute, how about this for a suggestion:
it is not about either of those things. i will also add this: "self sufficiency" is very different when you are Trump than when you are somebody who was raised in a ghetto by a single parent. $1M is not a "small loan" for most of us. i know, because i got a "small loan". i worked like hell to get a "small loan" for $25k so that i could buy marketing materials for my first business. it was guaranteed by a state agency because my credit sucked. and mind you, i came from a relatively privileged background. anyone with less of a background would never have got that loan. and that, in essence, is the issue. "self sufficiency" is coded language, imo. it makes one feel good about their fortune. and it allows you to disparage those who have none.

Whatever you think the problems of this country are, the one thing that can be absolutely guaranteed is that Donald Trump does not give a damn about solving them. Donald Trump is the biggest liar in American political history, and quite possibly the single most dishonest and corrupt person in the country. He is out only for himself, and if he can fool enough unthinking and unseeing people into following him in the belief that they will benefit too or that their concerns will be addressed it is only in service to his own interests. He has no core beliefs other than what benefits him. He preys on the fears and the hate of those most eager to be fooled, and this country and this world are and will be far worse for it.

Also, how do we know they pay more than they take with their free health care and kids in school with no English skills? Among other handouts.

Do not worry about dj. He has already said he is not only leaving the US in a couple of years when he retires because he is so disenchanted, this means California as well. If it was utopia as claimed why leave?

there are about (10) different ways of figuring it out. if you don't buy this article, i can find a really thoughtful analysis from a guy at a Libertarian think tank that backs me up: side note: please ask Google first. you are wasting my time with these readily provable facts.

With all of the Illegals, that are not reported ,, paid in cash, under the table,, how do we know that? Do not worry about dj. He has already said he is not only leaving the US in a couple of years when he retires because he is so disenchanted, this means California as well. If it was utopia as claimed why leave? 1) because healthcare in the US is 2x what it is everywhere else in the world, and there is no universal coverage.
2) because i would rather live in a stable democracy than a declining one. yes i think that.
3) because this country is run by idiots currently, and i don't see that changing soon. 4) because this place only thinks it has culture & history. other places actually have it. 5) because i feel more at home in other parts of the world than i do here. 6) because i am tired of waking up with blood on my hands for our many nefarious exploits.
PS- i never claimed it was "utopia"- only better than most or all of the other 49 states. i have considered living somewhere else but where would i go that has a better climate and is more socially liberal in the US? nowhere, i am thinking. NOTE: i don't hate America, if you are wondering. i DO, however, hate that we are doing so many things wrong in this world, and are doing nothing to fix those things.

With all of the Illegals, that are not reported ,, paid in cash, under the table,, how do we know that? Also, how do we know they pay more than they take with their free health care and kids in school with no English skills? Among other handouts. i never made that claim. i have spent a lot of time researching this, and i think that there is a range of possibilities here. if you take the most conservative claims, about half of all dollars spent on "illegals" is recovered through taxes. some liberals claim that ALL of it is covered, but i think that claim is equally outlandish. the most believable claims are that immigrants cover about 75% of their benefits through taxes. PS- nobody gets free healthcare, ttbomk. what are you talking about? PPS- i know quite a few dreamers. they ALL (every one) speak PERFECT English. probably better than most posters on this board. so, i am coloring that one the shade of shit, as well. among other claims.

One really does have to admire your dedication to making yourself look bad.

Bullshit. These migrants are not respecting our country or it's citizens, or our laws. If you feel so strongly about allowing them in the country, I think you should put them up in your rentals free of charge for a couple years so they can get on their feet. You can do the talk. Do the walk.

I don't like what has happened and is happening. But no one wanted to fix it, everybody kept pushing it down the road. The fix trump has isn't going to do sh**. It's just going to waste more money. The people reaping the money off them don't want to change it, they are getting rich. They have already sold their souls, they can live in enclaves or in another country with people paid to keep the secure, what do they care. We are seeing that now.
Our country is in a world of hurt. I told hubs the other day if it wasn't so cold there I would actually consider moving to Canada but at our age we just need to finish this out. I never thought I would live to see the day we have people supporting someone like trump. We have already lost our democracy and our goodness I think. To see people at those rallys is very disturbing, maybe we really are in the end times. I thought that was silly, now I'm starting to wonder. He is actually evil and they seem to not even see it but lap it up. We just had past presidents, members of the free press, and representatives threatened with death and then a lot of jewish people killed and he just acts like its nothing. No sympathy, back screaming his venom again tonight. How is anything going to get better. I worry even if we vote for dems will they actually be counted. They said a president doesn't make that much difference, now maybe people will see it does. Will we continue as a democracy or will he actually turn us over to putin. I just cannot put forth the seriousness of this situation.
If the dems don't take over at least the house I will start stocking up big time. If they do they may be able to slow this mess down and fix a little of it. Let's hope.
