According to another poster on this thread it is a Republican plan in place to kill them off. I am not interested in what might or might not be posted some where...just answering a specific post by a poster. And all I was saying there is a poster here who claims that is why there are fewer people over 65. I do not believe it. The poster made the claim.

I'm 71, not a liberal and not shuddering. Early voting starts Oct 25 and Trump should be shuddering.

The day of elections huge numbers of liberals are gonna find an excuse not to go and vote. Conservatives on the other hand...and that’s because most of the conservatives are retired people and they look forward to doing something every day!😂 Thats how polls become irrelevant. hmmm...so your suggesting that there are no liberal / moderate seniors...once they hit 65 they just vanish ...poof ...like that? Interesting...…. The number of liberals of retirement age is very slim. It seems that once one retires he/she becomes a more conservative person!🙈

If it doesn't go blue then we will see a decline with tariffs and all. The prosperity carrying over from the Obama years won't continue for ever. And the farmers next year, well, many will be bankrupt, never to return. If it continues and dems have a decent candidate we will be ok. If we lose in November the fabric of this country will never be the same and we will be the worse for it. It's possible if the repubs are in again then 2020 may never happen, he may just declare himself supreme leader and elections be damned. Would anyone rise up? Be mighty hard too. Isn't this the same claim you and others here made in October of 2016? I think it is time you give this President an atta boy and admit to everyone the country has not declined or fallen into anarchy with his election. Unless you count the democrats and socialists who are flailing towards anarchy by trying to destroy the country today. Man lost the popular vote by almost 4 million...true more folks were not happy with Hillery..[hard for me to understand...if it's Bengazi, server e mail problems making the difference, give me a break...maybe Bill and the pants suits] Then on day one he starts with the ignaugeration crowd, somewhere in there Obama ordering wire taps, then the popular vote going toward Hillery reason was illegal voters...then p off our allies...p off our oldest allie the Brits to the point he couldn't go into London...had to sneak in to see the Queen for a quick Tea, in and out...she didn't want to be there but being a good trooper and for political reasons but son, husband grand sons and wives missing purposely , then is 15 minutes late...one IS NOT LATE TO SEE THE QUEEN...IT'S NOT DONE...screws up trooping the troops...approaching 5000 lies...stock market down over a 1000 points... I'm just getting started....a atta boy? Has any POTUS done anything to split the country so far apart as this President...and revels in it...Every rally he calls out the Democrats and REPUBLICANS who don't kiss his butt....

That makes them “Trump not like’rs”!😂 Possible but interesting thing happened there a few weeks ago...bunch of the guys and gals brought in their absentee ballots...We all got them about a month ago...[not me, I was just there] and they sat around a table with a few pitchers and went over the ballot...discussed certain parts...the Judges , if any one had ideas of or familier with..took a vote on who to mark...also the different proposals on the ballot...there were a lot of em and when it got to actual people to vote for , offices ….it was almost uniformly down the line a vote for a dem....Possible also a reaction against "Trump not likers"...but I am talking about seniors...vets...some lifers...u would think life long conservatives... Me ..? I just sat there, threw my 2 cents in on a few and drank the Beer and ate my Bacon, cheese burger..I just did my ballot today.

Can you explain how you lost drug coverage under Medicare?
I do not understand your statement.
Did you lose drug coverage under Medicare, or your supplemental policy, or did the policy drop a specific drug you are on, and you now have to pay out of pocket?
Losing drug coverage and losing a prescription because it has been dropped from a plan are two distinct and separate things.
From what they have said they no longer have this plan but they did not offer me the option of another one, so sounds like they want me to go. I went to an insurance broker, explained on the declutter thread since I was saying I didn't get much done today and told about it. So no point in writing about it twice.

I'm feeling okay. I live in a swing district and I just answered the door for some folks out stumping for the gal that I'll vote for. The incumbent has been in office for something like twenty years, isn't down by much in the polls, and there are rumors that his party just cut him loose.

My 64 year old sister and her 65 year old husband, life long GOPers, loathe Trump and won't vote for him - don't know if they've stopped being GOPers, if they just aren't voting for anyone right now, or if they've aligned with a third party.
I suspect their two grown daughters, both dems (and the oldest one pretty militant about it) might have influenced them.

Okay, from what I am comprehending, Medicare did not drop it, but your supplemental plan was discontinued. Not the same thing.

I just think liberals should not take anything for granted. The rabid trump voters will likely be out in force. Here they are very low information.
We have a camp retreat in our little town, it needs money. The lady over it is repub, but she is careful not to be political. This week she is having a luncheon for dems but its primarily to support the retreat and get money, she has had the other party do the same. She got attacked pretty badly on facebook today, its horrible. What trump is doing is tearing this country apart even at the grass roots level. You have these people here that are poor, no education, loving him screaming and yelling and lying about stuff and carrying it into our little community. We don't need this at all. We need to be pulling together. And you can say the dems are creating hatred all day long the only place I see this is trump saying so And he has baited Maxine Waters till of course she has lashed out I would too. I don't agree they need to go after people in public but she has no other way to do it so understand but don't approve. His lack of respect is horrible. Nothing good is coming of it. I only hope in our next election cycle its better, but with him running it won't be. He appeals to the lowest common denominator of people. I am so saddened by all this We need to be one country again and include everyone here as part of it and make us all proud to pull together again. Will never happen under him.
He is supporting the scum of the world, the dictators and killers of the world. Will we survive this as a country, I don't know. I'm growing old hope I live to see it getting better then it is now.

Paul Ryan is making an appearance in NYS to help some struggling republican congressmen, including mine.
The Dem challenger has raised more money than the incumbent this quarter, and it's all personal donations, not corporate. The R incumbent is running scared.

If they stay in we will lose medicare and everything, they will kill off a bunch of us old folks, by design I'm sure. I just lost my drug coverage under medicare, sigh. Right when I really started having to use it. I do have a good compounded drug for my foot its diclofenac 1.4% and lidocaine .333% of course topical, it really helps, but its cash out of pocket. Hope all mine wont' be. Can you explain how you lost drug coverage under Medicare? I do not understand your statement. Uhhh, it may be small but she still has native American, and I bet she was told that all her life too. She was not lying. I think if I were her I would retest anyway. However, I would not say anything else about it, trump has mocked and prodded the poor woman till she did this. What a piece he is.

My area is also a low information area....check out how our schools are doing & our local paper has gone down to only 4 days a week now. Also, check out how this area votes...it shows. If there is such a poll, check out which tv channels are watched most...they only quote/repeat Fox in our rant/rave column in the paper. They only know what Fox tells them. Same for my fairly well educated son...and I called him on it night before last. He had no defense cause he knew I was correct....he was brainwashed in the military cause I sure didn't raise him to be conservative. If not for unions where I worked years ago, he would not have had the very few advantages that he had growing up.

My prediction. Republicans pick up two Senate seats. Republicans lose 13 House seats, plus or minus four, but keep the House. i give your top prediction fairly good odds. maybe 50/50. your bottom prediction would be a wild outlier. there is a 10% chance that Democrats will take less than 19 seats. they need (i believe) 23 for a majority. edit: i got to thinking "what would be the equivalent of VB's prediction for DEMOCRATS". the equivalent would be the Democrats flipping something like SEVENTY seats. so, yeah. not going to happen.

Trump tells AP he won't accept blame if GOP loses HouseWASHINGTON — Facing the prospect of bruising electoral defeat in congressional elections, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he won't accept the blame if his party loses control of the House in November, arguing his campaigning and endorsements have helped Republican candidates. In a wide-ranging interview three weeks before Election Day, Trump told The Associated Press he senses voter enthusiasm rivaling 2016 and he expressed cautious optimism that his most loyal supporters will vote even when he is not on the ballot. He dismissed suggestions that he might take responsibility, as his predecessor did, for midterm losses or view the outcome as a referendum on his presidency. "No, I think I'm helping people," Trump said. "I don't believe anybody's ever had this kind of an impact." Complete article here: Trump tells AP he won't accept blame if GOP loses House

The Republican voters understand this. We are still in the process of draining the swamp in our party. Until then, we know he does not truly head the Party. I do not disagree with Trump on this issue. When we actually have a majority of politicians in DC actually backing the President on his program proposals, then we will hold the President responsible for it's success or failures, as head of the party, as well all voters.
