Impeachment (of anyone) by the House is like an indictment. It leads to a trial by the Senate. They vote to remove. So basically, Kavanaugh could be impeached but it's not likely the Senate would remove him is my guess. Especially after all the fireworks to get him on the SC to begin with. I can only hope that the House would only impeach anyone at this point on grounds that were so solid that removal was a forgone conclusion and whoever does a Nixon.

Similar process as for a president
House - impeach ( majority vote )
Senate - conviction or not ( 2/3 senate vote to convict )
( High Bar )
I think a threat to impeach , has led to a person resigning and be done with it
(yakety yak -meant approaching midterms the politicians seem like they are are into chattering ,idle and/or foolish talk ---"silly season" time)
Ah. Thought you were jumping on the insult bandwagon. Z .... No , I moved on ; I do try to be constructive unless ; the devil makes me do it . OSU won , Browns won ... life is good . ( as long as my husband , my kids , and my 1/2 year old grandson are ok , I'm good ).

As to the Supreme Court , I am going to wait and see how Chief Justice Roberts handles his role with this makeup of judges.

If he cares about the reputation of the court and his place in it as Chief Justice, he will be walking a tightwire.... If he doesn’t care then we’re going to see some pretty partisian outcomes...

If so then another sad day for the country.... If..and it is a hugh if...If there is evidence that our POTUS did wrong...a indictment is brought against him and if case eventually ended up in front of SCOTUS , I just don't believe with the way the court is set up now and with two justices appointed by him...that a impartial verdict could be had... Also, and more likely , Mueller feels he needs a sit down with the Donald and is stone walled, refused, thus either have to move on by Mueller or a subpoena by the courts and Donald fights it and that appears before the court for a decision and yes I know that previously the court has ruled that a POTUS has to honor a subpoena ..but I don't have confidence that this court would do so...same reason as previously stated. Naturally those are just my feelings on the matter...no special insight but actually I don't feel I am alone in feeling the court is weaker and is to partisan now to be a effective last legal resort for court cases.. Don't believe I am alone in my feelings.

Dezil , .
I do have alot of concerns as well. As I have said elsewhere , I have great faith in our young people. The ship will be righted and as a group there will be atmosphere with increased empathy again. I really believe that.
It is revolting the behavior of Donald Trump. ( I know some people like some policy ) . I is disturbing others are morphing into mini Trumps. Be it cult like or rationalizing that ends justify the means , that won't last forever. Enough parents out there make their children aware that the behavior of Trump is everything that they should never aspire to mimic or embrace.
And if all else fails , he is mortal.

AS I don't mean to be rude .
With all due respect, I had a long day at work , and work I love. I just need to take a break at home , so tomorrow I will be at my best helping some of the patients our group sees with paranoid delusions.

You think we conservatives are not pushing back against the Liberal Witch Hunt?? Pointing out the disgusting behavior, of the lynch mob!! The GOP has the house, the senate, the executive office, now the supreme court, and all the GOP can do is whine about 'witch hunts' against them.
They have to paint themselves as victims to try to lure voters into voting for them - out of pity.
Poor, poor rich white men, how mean everyone is to say nasty things about them, like how they grope women, and screw around on their wives with playboy bunnies....

Sorry, I have too much empathy and humility to be a Trumpette - the two very human emotions Trump completely lacks.
I'm already a conservative in some ways, but conservatives are as rare as unicorns anymore.

It's going to warm my heart to see Sen Collins replaced by Susan Rice in 2020... She's a pro choice moderate Repo. Something you all claim to LOVE, at least with after McCain was died. Odd. Yes, the left could always depend On McCain to screw up an important vote for the Republicans, and now they know Collins is not a guraenteed vote. Depressing for them.

The Kavanagh confirmation is the final proof that the GOP party is dead. There are no longer any moderate republicans, there are no 'republicans' at all any more - no more fiscally responsible, limited government GOPers.
Instead, we have the Trumpette party, who gloats in having a whiny, petulant partisan SCOTUS candidate who cries during his Senate hearing about the Dem funded Deep State making him a victim.
Kavanagh has demeaned the SCOTUS, and has pulled that dignified assembly into gutter partisan politics, and no matter how long he serves on the court, he will always be the tainted judge.
Republicans are not dead. They finally had enough of the democrats and drew a line in the dirt that was being thrown. I think the fact that they now knew Trump would not back down and retreat by withdrawing the nomination gave them the cahonas to actually act like a political party welling to fight. Either that, or they knew they had nothing to lose Regardless, withholding the accusation until after the questioning was done, was the last freaking straw for Republicans as well as most Indepenednt voters in the country. Dems cried "WAR" and Republicans said, "bring it on, and give us your best shot".

That’s twice you’ve “yawned” at someone’s comments. But you say you don’t want to be rude and stoop to the level of some posters here so which is it?

I haven’t “snitched “ on her. It’d be nice to have a poster who could present another point of view without insulting anyone who doesn’t agree but it seems the bandwagon is just too enticing.
