Hey friends time to get on this train and get rid of this baby weight. The 4th one has been a different beast and my body really wants to keep those last 10 lbs. I call it my tacos and margaritas weight mom got me a fitbit for Christmas so I am starting there with just moving.

These last 2 weeks have been a disaster diet-wise. That's getting straightened out again starting tomorrow. Ended the year with a couple good workouts leaving me sore because it's been too long. Ready to go--have a great year everyone!

I'm going to try tracking here for my workouts - I have the goal to do 4x a week at the gym for at least 30 minutes. I'm changing up how I work with my trainer so my focus is consistency.

Weekly check in. Last week's goal was 50000 steps. This was exceeded by 9700.
Last year step goal of 3,500,000 was exceeded by 30.000. My weight stayed about the same.
For 2018 my step goal is 3,600,000. My weight loss goal is 20 pounds. I will post my starting weight tomorrow.
This week's goal is 70000 steps.
Have a great week everyone.

I'm starting at 167.7, but this is PMS week so I'm retaining water and will have a couple pounds loss without trying by next week.
My first goal is getting back to the gym, and drinking more water. Some time this week I'm going to get fitted for running shoes, and buy some good running bras.
I took before pictures. It isn't a true before since I already lost 20, but I decided I need to see where I am starting from. Can't decide how often to take new pics. Monthly?

Do you use MyFitnessPal? There's a place to put pictures there every time you enter your weight.

Omg, I gained 4 pounds in the last week! I can tell by the looks of my belly. I felt like a garbage can this last weekend. I'm glad I feel like the desire for sweets is out of my system. My feet are too dry for my scale to get my body fat %, but starting weight is 155.4. I'm 5'6.5" with a large-ish, strong frame. I add the extra 1/2 inch because I'm noticeably taller than my friends that claim to be 5-6, but I'm not up to 5-7. I'm okay with my weight right now, or around 150, but it would be nice to lose more, too. I don't want to gain any more, though. I worked too hard to lose the last 30 pounds. Most of all, I need to stay healthy and active because I'm getting older, and if I don't, it'll catch up with me quickly. Goals: lose the last 5 pounds, or 30 more, or anywhere in between Eat veggies at least once a day, learn to cook more of them in a variety of ways Drink more water that is not in the form of tea. Exercise at least every other day, find a new one for variety and challenge.

Happy new year everyone! Another chance for a fresh start.
Last year, my goal was to get in better shape/more toned. I did well with that - went to the gym pretty regularly through about April, then as the weather improved, skipped the gym and went hiking about three times a week. My legs were looking much more toned. Then somewhere around September/October all motivation left, and I haven't done much at all.
I'm having surgery on my foot in February, so I have a month and a half to make some improvements before I'm on crutches for six weeks and fall even further into the flabby abyss.
This year's goals:
Gym three days a week - this is my hardest thing to accomplish. The gym is packed by the time I get off work and I hate going Lose the four pounds I've gained recently - I'm small, so a few pounds makes a big difference in how I feel and look Complete the Manitou incline in under 45 minutes this summer link hopefully that link works Average at least 50,000 steps per week
Good luck to everyone with reaching your fitness goals!!

My goal for 2018 is to lose 30 pounds. Annual step goal 2.6 million Goals for this week: 50k steps track food using weight watchers every day Jillian Michaels workout twice DH got me a samsung gearfit 2 for Christmas. I've always had fitbits, butI felt like the gearfit had way more features for less $$. So what do I do? Dropped it last night face down on the bathroom tile and the screen shattered. I'm still wearing it today because it still works to track steps. I just can't check text messages or notifications or I'll cut a finger.

I want to lose 10-15 pounds this year. Time to actually get serious about it! I ordered a bathroom scale today and will get it on Thursday. I think that will keep me more accountable because it will be more accurate than the scale at the work gym, and I can't be taking a regular field trip to the gym bathroom all the time. I mean, I could, it would just cut into my work time and I feel awkward going to the changing room during work hours to weigh myself and someone is getting changed or showering. I should also actually start using the work gym again as well. Maybe in February when all the resolution people quit. I think I am hovering around 156 pounds. Thursday evening/Friday morning I will weigh myself so I have a proper starting weight rather than my guesstimate. When I lost 37 pounds in 2012/2013 my end weight was 143. I am 5'5" so this ~145ish weight means a consistent size 8 in pants/size 6 in dresses. I can still wear my size 8 jeans, but there is more tightness. So long as I am below the mental hurdle of 150 pounds then I will be happy. I am just terrified of creeping back up to my high of 181. Activity-wise, I just need to get my ass moving more consistently! I have been slacking on my home PT exercises and I do feel it in my hip and groin. While the weather is too cold to even look outside I should use this as an excuse to get back in the habit of my daily strength exercises. Once it warms back up to the 30s/40s then I will be better about my walky jogs. No excuses when it hits 50 degrees!

When I had foot surgery, I could not put weight on my foot for two weeks until I transitioned to a Velcro boot. Also, I had trouble keeping the swelling down, and I was icing it every hour. Anytime I walked in a store or outside, the swelling increased, so exercise was out and I gained 15 pounds even though my diet was consistent. You will lose the weight once your exercise is back to what is was prior to your surgery.

Yesterday, since I was off work, was a good exercise day and an ok calorie day. Not only did I work out, but then after the gym we put our Christmas stuff away, finsihed putting together our new dining room table, cleaned, rearranged, etc etc. So not a lot of steps but a lot of moving around all day.
I've decided 2 health related new years resolution.
1: More consistently eat veggies. Even if it means eating more corn (one of the few veggies DH and I agree on), I'm doing it. I try to always have frozen veggies around and I try to make them for dinner regularly, but DH likes different ones than me, and he doesn't believe every meal needs a veggie. Or, he thinks an iceberg lettuce salad (read: lettuce, maybe green pepper, and cheese) is an acceptable veggie. So, even if he doesn't want to partake, I'll make a veggie side for myself. I do a decent job at lunch, since he's not around to derail me, so making it a consistent dinner thing should get me to the recommended servings a day most days.
2: Hit 425,000 steps each and every month. I had 2 months last year over that amount, and 2 months where I was within a few thousand of it. So, while I likely won't hit it every month, it seems like a good goal. And, knowing that's my goal, I'll be more likely to take 1 or 2 extra walks to get me there.
As it was 5* here this morning, goal #2 is going to be hard to hit this month!

I saw my old BFF after Christmas and she kept commenting on how "skinny" I was. I'm not, or at least I don't see it - I think it's because we only see each other about once a year. My pants are tighter and I haven't been eating well. Thank God I work out regularly bc I'd be HUGE if I didn't. I started up MFP today and am doing okay, but it's only 9:40am so... lol. I've given myself 1500 cals/day. A teeny bit on the high end, but I'll start there for about 2 weeks or so to get back into the swing and will probably take it to 1400 once I'm used to eating well again.

I have about 25lbs to go to drop all the baby weight - I want to do it this year. Over 2017 I managed to drop probably 15-20 of it? Hoping I can do better this year!
Eating has been not great quality but not much quantity lately because of the antibiotics I'm on, trying to get back to the WW tracking this week even if I don't do well and snap myself back into eating better.

My 2018 fitness goals:
1. Weight at 150 pounds or a size 10. The size 10 is more likely to happen as I want to build muscle mass rather than drop weight.
2. To be able to do a 5 minute plank.
3. To be able to do 50 pushups.
It will probably take me all year, but I'm going to give it a try.

I really don't want to go to the gym tonight. I got a visitor and I'm all bloated and crampy. I'm going, but I really don't want to.

I'm waiting till my next transfusion appointment, then I'll let it rip. I want to get a starting weight, and I already know my game plan. I'll be posting my plank exercise results once a week on this thread. Losing weight is secondary, strengthening my core is my goal!

Dh, the kids and I are signed up for a Tae Kwon Do class tonight. It's a 30 day free trial. After that's it's pretty painful but no reason not to try it for a month. We get to be in class together which I'm super excited about.

I have weight goals, but I still have so many hang ups about weight, and mostly can't deal with other people's hang ups about weight that while I have them and quite honestly I'm obsessed with them, I'm trying not to focus on them.
I am thinking about tracking my activity though. Maybe make an official goal of 150 minutes of exercise per week with an eventual goal of 300 minutes per week once I'm at my goal weight.
And increasing my water. I might be lying to my doctor about how much water I drink. The first ingredient in diet soda is water so really it counts--I've made my own diet soda so I know the entire bottle is water with just a little bit of stuff added in. But I could probably handle drinking the appropriate amount of unadulterated water a day on top of my soda habit.
