Dh, the kids and I are signed up for a Tae Kwon Do class tonight. It's a 30 day free trial. After that's it's pretty painful but no reason not to try it for a month. We get to be in class together which I'm super excited about. I want to try martial arts too! Let me know what you think! Will do!

Thinking about taking a pole dancing class. The same gym also has twerk, chair dance, hip hop, and pilates. I might have to check them out.

chen35- I was reading WAY too fast and read that as "my goal for 2018 is to lose 30 million pounds." Ambitious. Started off pretty good! 2/2 on workouts at the gym and I took the dogs to the park yesterday. If I can get my shoulder to stop aching I'll take them again today but the youngest one pulls so much that it's making the pain worse. My garmin is still not syncing with the computer and online forum so I've just given up for now and track it on my phone. I am awaiting an Amazon delivery with my new gym bag (current one is falling apart) and a new bullet journal so I can make pretty pages like chloe!

I did better drinking water today. Not getting 10,000 steps. The crud I've been fighting over the long weekend is definitely a sinus infection. I have zero energy. Luckily I already had an appointment scheduled with my allergy doctor for Wednesday.

My goal is to lose 25 pounds this year. I would like to lose at least 10 of it by April but I guess I will see how it goes. I want to get back to exercising but with taking care of my parents and working full time and battling chronic fatigue I haven't had much energy or time. So maybe if I mainly concentrate on my eating habits and try to get in a bit of exercise I can lose some.

So, you all are going to make my legs fall off, lol. I got home from work today with only 1,200 steps. I wanted to hit my 10,000 so I jogged around and chased the kiddos through the house, then paced while I worked. Get ready to go to bed and see that I was only 500 steps behind the person in front of me, so I got up and did laps around the hallway. I may be a tiny teensy bit competitive

So the gym wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. There were a few extra people and I saw 3 or 4 people touring when I usually only see 1 or 2 a week. Maybe people are dragging their butts on getting started.

My complex has a workout room, which I sometimes use when I don't want to drive the 15 minutes to the gym after work. So last night, I went to walk on the treadmill and hit my 10k steps for the day. It's a small room (2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a bike, some weights, plenty of area to do core). There was one person there when I got there. 20 minutes later, every machine was filled, there 2 doing weights, and 2 doing core! So, even though I would have liked to have walked longer, I got off the treadmill in case someone else wanted it. Well, as I was cleaning it off, 3 more peeps walked in, and one walked right over to the treadmill and loudly said "MINE!" and hopped on. Never have I seen that many people in the workout room. I didn't even know it could hold that many! Thank God tonight is my group workout at the college's indoor track and field building. I think I may have to rethink my workout strategy for a few weeks til the rush of new year's folks dies down a bit.

So i hate the treadmill and I'm not doing it anymore. I'll stick with my elliptical. I'll add in some of the spin class and see how I do. I don't really like it, but I like it better than the treadmill. I also ditched the fitbit. I'm tired of being married to it. I get in plenty of steps every day.

My step counts are practically negative lately. I just want to hide under the covers all day, and when I am walking around, I'm putting my hands in my pockets because they're so cold. I'm hoping the draftiness of my house is lessened once we get drywall and insulation in the coldest room behind the garage in a couple months.

I'm fairly certain mine wouldn't register any steps in my pocket. It doesn't register anything when I'm waving my arms all around while exercising. My DH put the bigger band on when he changed my battery, so I tried putting it around my ankle (risking people thinking that it's a tether!) It's not quite big enough for that, unfortunately. I guess I'll just go back to ignoring my step counts like I have been!

It takes me at least 1,000 steps from getting out of bed to leaving the house for work. I take it off to shower, and put it back on after I am all dressed. From there I am basically running out the door. It's amazing how little I really do move during the work day! But you are motivating me - I may not catch you but Im gonna try!!!

I saw my old BFF after Christmas and she kept commenting on how "skinny" I was. I'm not, or at least I don't see it - I think it's because we only see each other about once a year. My pants are tighter and I haven't been eating well. Thank God I work out regularly bc I'd be HUGE if I didn't. I started up MFP today and am doing okay, but it's only 9:40am so... lol. I've given myself 1500 cals/day. A teeny bit on the high end, but I'll start there for about 2 weeks or so to get back into the swing and will probably take it to 1400 once I'm used to eating well again. went over my calories due to dinner. Starting again today.

DD(5yo) and I loved tae kwon do (or karate--I'm not really sure, and I don't know that it really matters at this level it's really, really basic). Ds(8) and dh, not so much. Ds was intimidated that he couldn't keep up with the sit ups and push ups and I was like--kid you should have looked back at your overweight middle aged mom if you wanted to feel better about yourself, although I tried to phrase it a bit better. Dh freaked out that he and I were the only adults in that class, and said that he didn't like all the yelling although he was the first to admit how ironic that was. There were adults in the class before and after ours and they said the first few classes never had many adults, but the end would always have a full line of grown ups too so he's freaking out over nothing.
I'm not sure that I can get either of them to try it again, but I am hoping ds will. He said he would at least help me with my sit ups and push ups that we're supposed to practice everyday, and I think tonights class is more about form and technique so I'm hoping to gently encourage him.
It's $250 a month though if we sign up there. I'll see if I can find some cheaper places around the area that we can still go to the same class and see what I can find. It's not like we're going to do it all year. If we stick with it for a quarter that would be pretty amazing. The activity was great. I was sore last night, but not crippled. I had multiple moments of freaking out and wanting to turn back, but pushed through it so it got me out of my comfort zone. We need activities to do together too which is why I liked this. It seemed like something we could all start at where we were at.
Dd was SOOOOOO cute. She was the smallest in class so she was the leader and had a bunch of single lines to say to the class and was just really adorable at the punches. She is our little extrovert so she'll jump into anything. Ds worries so much more about appearances, but he has had other classes that were really hard in the beginning that he ended up really liking because he stuck it out so I'm hoping I can get him to give it another try. Dh is the problem in my opinion since he didn't like it he's quick to dismiss it.

Over time my hunger automatically went down. What you see above is probably 80% of what I usually eat. But thats because I ate way too much over the weekend and just did not feel like eating yesterday. Normally the above would include an oatmeal bowl for breakfast and some sort of fruit for dinner.

I do meal prep, but there is too much temptation at work. And at home. Basically I have no willpower, lol. Last night I got home and was starving so started snacking before I was finished heating up my soup. Today I had some oatmeal with pb and flaxseed for breakfast and I just had lunch. It was a lot, relatively speaking. I do need to get back to grazing rather than large meals but it's hard, especially at home.

I'm trying to lose 15lbs this year. I take very little exercise and need to find a way to incorporate it into my life. It's hard to do because I hate it! I'm going to sign up for the step challenge and try to be encouraged!

Find something you like and do it.

Thanks for adding me to the challenge sarcasticgirl. I'm currently second last and that's only because Lizard Queen hasn't uploaded any step data!

I just ate a chocolate covered marshmallow. No regrets. I'm still under calorie counts for the day but dinner will have to be pretty small. That's okay.

I actually made it to One-derland!! 197.5 pounds. All by being sick and not eating. Soooo... now I am about to kill it by having pizza. I will be working that off through frustration and the impending blizzard though. Oy. Driving home from work will lose me 5 pounds easily.

I want to lose 10-15 pounds this year. Time to actually get serious about it! I ordered a bathroom scale today and will get it on Thursday. I think that will keep me more accountable because it will be more accurate than the scale at the work gym, and I can't be taking a regular field trip to the gym bathroom all the time. I mean, I could, it would just cut into my work time and I feel awkward going to the changing room during work hours to weigh myself and someone is getting changed or showering. I should also actually start using the work gym again as well. Maybe in February when all the resolution people quit. I think I am hovering around 156 pounds. Thursday evening/Friday morning I will weigh myself so I have a proper starting weight rather than my guesstimate. When I lost 37 pounds in 2012/2013 my end weight was 143. I am 5'5" so this ~145ish weight means a consistent size 8 in pants/size 6 in dresses. I can still wear my size 8 jeans, but there is more tightness. So long as I am below the mental hurdle of 150 pounds then I will be happy. I am just terrified of creeping back up to my high of 181. Activity-wise, I just need to get my ass moving more consistently! I have been slacking on my home PT exercises and I do feel it in my hip and groin. While the weather is too cold to even look outside I should use this as an excuse to get back in the habit of my daily strength exercises. Once it warms back up to the 30s/40s then I will be better about my walky jogs. No excuses when it hits 50 degrees! Got my scale today! I am 154.4. Okay, not bad. I can do 10 pounds, if I really put my mind to it. Weather is hurting my hip today. Boo. It's $@&! cold so I made pasta fagioli for our dinner. I am avoiding the temptation of having just another little ladle full.
