Of course not. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Carry on. My wayward son...

Why is it that on this board - like every thread - if someone doesn't agree with you, they are missing the point? This board is loaded with really intelligent people. They aren't likely to be missing any points - just disagreeing with them.

Some people seem to only post to argue or put others down, so it goes. Message board imitates life!

I'm glad there is arguing (although I prefer to call it debate). I've learned tons from people here when a subject is debated. I'm not ashamed to say I've changed or at least had to rethink my views on a couple of subjects after listening to both sides. I think it's great!

You aren't going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours. I too have learned other points of view from many here and changed my opinion some.

I just get moved a little off center. Never going all the way left or right. I like hearing what people with different backgrounds/experience and living in different parts of the country/world have to say.

Believe it or not, being on these boards has made me less conservative...yes, I used to be THAT far right! Reading about families very different from what I always considered "the norm" made me realize that who the hell am I to judge what someone does in their own home. I'm still not budging on the bathroom/locker room issue, though!lol

I don't think there are too many truly ugly people.
To me, ugly means there's something repulsive about your appearance.
I think there's a difference between ugly and unattractive. Unattractive just means you aren't attracted to the other persons appearance, which is true for me in most cases. But by the same token, I'm not repulsed easily either. For the most part, I don't feel one way or the other.

That's a good point, Phoenix. I'm not attracted to everybody I see, but that doesn't mean they are ugly.

Phoenix, didn't you post a picture one time so we could tell you if there was something off about your appearance because you weren't hitting it off with the lady-types? I'm sure you had a lot of encouragement before you did that, but you did post a pic for everyone here to judge. Kind of like that website in the OP, only we "know" each other here. IMO, that is an example of a time where asking "Seriously, is there something wrong with me physically because I'm not seeing anything and maybe there is something" could be helpful. (In this case, we all found out Phoenix was a hottie, so unfortunately couldn't be like "YOUR HAIR IS DRIVING AWAY ALL THE WOMEN!!!")

Also, maybe it's because I'm one of the few who actually looked at the linked site, what we did for Phoenix is exactly what the sub-reddit is for. Dudes were asking for opinions because they were in the process of losing weight and wanted to know how they were progressing, or someone had acne scars and wanted to see how noticeable they are, etc. Sometimes the people we know and love won't give us their real opinion, or they are and we (general we) think they're lying or trying to spare feelings. Hell, my hair is a giant pile of insanity but I'm always told otherwise. Maybe I do want to hear something constructive with a viable solution! Actually, yes. I wish I knew someone with my exact hair type (super dense, fine, wavy, with some random stick straight pieces in the front - a ball of mess) and they would give me a wonder product! Every other product recommendation has been a dud.

But I also think there is a constructive way to tell someone and then just a flat out mean way. I want constructive advice not just "wow, that some unfortunate hair you have going on"...lol

Every other product recommendation has been a dud. My DD's is close. Hers is very curly in the back and straight in front. She's almost 3 so I'm kind of hoping the straight stuff is baby hair (but at this point I doubt it). She wears a lot of ponytails with headbands. It's going to be a problem later on I think. Let me know if you figure something out!

Your family and friends will tell you everything is fine. And acquaintances and total strangers will tell you everything is fine because they don't know you. But I didn't post a pic because I thought I was ugly. I was more or less looking for honest feedback.

She found my round brush the other day and asked me about it. "Oh that's when Mommy used to actually have this thing called free time and I'd straighten my hair". . Memories.

Lol! Again, from the threads I've read on the reddit page, it is constructive stuff. I just clicked on one and the consensus is this guy is cute but getting rid of the facial hair would help. People seem to be supportive, especially when people post that they lost a lot of weight. I've seen it happen with people I know and big weight loss, you end up needing to change more than clothes (i.e., hair style).

I am impressed with the replies people are getting on that site. It is nice to see people helping others instead of cutting them down for a change.

I don't have the straight stuff in front but mine is very very curly underneath and curly/wavy else where. It's such a pain in the ass to get a cut because almost no one understands this concept. Lucky for DD, I've been cutting her hair! I don't know if this will work for you but I really like the Aquage smoothing shampoo and equalizing detangler. I also used Beyond the Zone noodle head curling crème on wet hair and drying with a defuser. That's all for wearing curly though which I'm guessing you don't do.
ETA- maybe the products will help Lena?

My hair is so damaged by now, I don't know if anything will help. But also - they kind of changed after I had kids. They are not straight but also not curly. Just a mess. I need to get a haircut again, going to try your woman - see what happens
