"Oh, you do know her!"
Tormund and the Hound were hilarious this week. Tormund was funny last week, too.

I really think the pacing is WAY too fast lately, and a lot of it seems "forced" or illogical (even for GOT)
I mean the whole Sansa & Arya thing......well maybe if I really want to know my sister's motives, maybe (just maybe) I should ask my all-knowing brother instead of stirring shit up with her--don't ya think?
The raven flew awfully fast from the wall to the dragon queen
The king zombie dude can javelin a flying dragon, but he doesn't javelin Jon & the crew while they are trapped on that little island / center of the moat
and that's just without thinking hard........

I love the pacing of the new season. The last few seasons have been way too slow and boring. Great episode, two boring episodes, great episodes, two boring episodes, etc.
Bran won't give up that info.
They were on that island long enough for one dude to freeze to death and the water to freeze again. It didn't seem like a short time to me.
The night king needed a Dragon in order to kill more people. Killing Jon or Dany doesn't help his cause. Everyone knows he's coming. He needs to strength his army.
I did wonder where the dead people got the giant chains though.

cktc - I have yet to watch a single episode of GoT. Plus, someone sent me this spoiler alert so no need for me to watch it now.

Bump bump Anyone catch the premiere? I did.
I enjoyed it, especially some of the Dany snark, but in other ways I found it a bit lacking. I'm hoping it was just necessary set up for the remaining five seasons.
For instance, I could have done without all the Cersei/Euron back and forth. I didn't like him in the books, and I don't like him here. He's just a blah character to me.

I caught it. The only sad thing for me this season (other than the show ending), is that my vacation is scheduled during two middle episodes, and I have no idea if I'll be able to see them before I get back (I'll be in Sweden). So, my vacation also needs to be a full hiatus from all social media, because people love to post stuff about the shows. Fortunately, I'm fine with this, since I like to completely disconnect when I travel

At least I'll be actually down in the Grand Canyon rafting, so no chance of being spoiled on anything.

I will say Game of Bones is not living up to *either* of the word's connotations this week.

It definitely felt heavy on the staging for the season. Long awaited reunions and reveals seemed to fall a bit flat. I did enjoy some of the callbacks to season 1 with the climbing and Bran at the end.

Who thinks Sansa is going to hook up with Theon? Well I did. Episode 3 was way more than I expected. I thought this would be the major series ending story but I guess we have to go back to King's Landing for some excessive smirking.

I thought this arc would take us through episode 5. I’m a little shell shocked.

Who thinks Sansa is going to hook up with Theon? There's already one couple on the show that features a man without his man-parts, so two would have been overkill. I think Sansa/Tyrion is a better storyline.

I think Sansa/Tyrion is a better storyline. I don't think Sansa needs a love interest. Her experience with men has been... not great. She could just hang out and be single forever. But I don't think that will happen, because she's also at this point the most likely of the Starks to make other little Starks to hang onto Winterfell. Also pretty sure she's technically still married to Tyrion.

Oh, I don't think she needs a love interest either - however, I hope she gets a happy ending whether it's single or with someone. She's had it rough and has come a long way from spoiled Winterfell brat.
I also think they are still technically married, though the marriage was never consummated - it seems like that matters based on something said in episode 1 (?) of this season.

We always watch GoT a day late, so I just saw Episode 3 yesterday. I don't think Theon is dead. I also think Sansa is still married, so that could be an interesting twist to the tale.

Episode 8.4 was a great big downer. I know its GoT and beloved characters die, but I at least liked the possibility of some happy endings. At this point, if a character survives they won't have any meaningful relationships.

I'm disappointed. I thought Theon would have a miraculous reanimation. Is anyone else surprised by Brianne and Jamie? I didn't see that coming!

My husband. Our conversation on Sunday night: Me: Can you pause? I need a wine refill before Brienne bangs Jaime. Husband: WHat! Brienne is NOT going to bang Jaime!!! *2 mins later* Brienne bangs Jaime.

She's been into him for like 5 seasons! Of course it was going to happen.
He's totally going to die though. After stabbing Cersei through the belly. Or maybe he'll kill both Cersei and Dany - cut down two Mad Queens like he did the Mad King.
There's a lot to go through in just two more episodes.

It was going to be either Jaime or Tormund. I really wanted it to be Tormund.
ETA: I wanted to discuss how terrible this show is with instant nudity. Have they never heard of foreplay? Kiss once, and bam, off go the clothes.

On the plus side, I'm probably not going to be terribly sad when the show is finished.

Great episode. I think even better than the battle against the dead.
Lost a couple of characters I really liked though.

Great episode. I think even better than the battle against the dead. Lost a couple of characters I really liked though. Disagree. They turned Daenerys mad in like 2 episodes. Jaime and Cersei’s deaths were awful. Clegane bowl was a disappointment. Arya turned coward for no reason. Whoever writes this show is obviously ready to do just about anything else.

I think D has been going mad forever. She has never been sane with her actions. I wasn't surprised by that.
I liked the Clegane Bowl. I wish it was more exciting though and not interspersed with Arya shots. Qyburn was shocking.
Jaime and Cersei was slightly blah. But ever since he left Winterfell, we knew he was going for her.
I wouldn't call Arya cowardly. She was scared. She was scared back when that girl was sent to kill her in Bravos. She was scared in the library at Winterfell during the battle when the dead were everywhere.
I don't think this episode turned everything on its head and was unexpected. We have seen glimpses throughout the seasons of these characters acting in these ways. It just all came to a head in this one.
I do wish this season was longer. I feel they are trying to wrap everything up too quickly.
Was it worth the two-year wait? No. Is it decent? Yes.

I don't mind that they turned her mad. I figured that's how this was always going to end. I'm unhappy with how him fisted they went about it. I don't feel they earned her burning thousands of innocents in the streets of kings landing. She had NEVER gone after non military targets/enemies before now. Are we to believe she suddenly unleashed on women and children because they feared her? Please.
Cleganebowl was...meh. Unless Gregor was just toying with him, the hound should have been dead in a few hits.
Don't even get me started on Jamie and Cersei. What a narrative let down that was. Just terrible.
Not sure I think Arya turned cowardly. I think they were trying to get her to finally "see" the value of life after turning into a mini murder machine for the last 3 seasons. Whatever. All they are really doing is making sure she gets out of there in one piece so she can kill the next big bad.
It's reading like rushed fanfic, and I'm just sad they are crashing so spectacularly in the final stretch.

Dany's decent into madness felt so rushed and telegraphed. It didnt make sense to me at all. The last couple episodes everyone pretty much tells her she has to do nothing and wait around for Cersei to surrender or she will kill all these innocents. Then she just swoops in on Drogon, no armies required, and handly defeats all of Cersei's forces by herself. Without any unnecessary bloodshed. Then instead of claiming victory and personally executing Cersei she decides to kill everyone and not Cersei because she wants to be feared? It just doesn't ring true with the her character as depicted on the show the last 7 seasons. I get it in the book. Her character sucks in the book and pretty much just thinks about sex all day, in the show she's always been more about people and compassion.
Also Jon was super useless. He's supposed to be this great leader, but instead of commanding the Northern forces and actually having some control, he just walks around saying "everyone stop please!"
