DH and I watched Season 1 through 4 on DVDs from the library. He didn't turn on subtitles so we missed a lot. One of the DVD episodes was scratched so that was missed.
Lo and behold, we were getting free HBO on Sunday. H found GoTs and watched most of season 5. 7 hours he said.
I watched several episodes. Had I known, I would have stayed home. We did get to see the start of season 6. We'll just have to wait for the DVDs in the library. I want to find someone with HBO to go visit.
Will the Red Woman rise or expire in her bed. That was a shocker.
Tyrion's quick mind and ability to survive is my favorite.
Ramsey scares me. There are psychos walking around who have watched and filed away his torture tactics.

I'm pretty sure the red women will wake up, put on her necklace and be beautiful again. 1. Because she is very important in a lot of speculated developments. 2. Because she has be seen in other parts of the trailers.

And now, let's discuss episode 2, shall we?I thought that the Tyrion-and-the-dragons storyline was nice. It takes a lot of guts and fortitude to face down dragons so you can unchain them. It's frustrating not to know what's up with Dany ~ but I understand that they can only fit in so much in a one-hour episode.
I actually felt sad for Cersei and not getting to go to her own daughter's funeral. I am expecting a big showdown between the KingsGuard/Jamie Lannister and the Faith Militant one of these days.
Ramsay is just as reprehensible as ever. Why on earth Roose would let him near with a knife we'll never know ~ Roose knew what a monster he was and Roose was a pretty smart strategist. And I think that we all thought that Ramsay would go after a new baby brother or sister.
I was growing tired of Arya the beggar getting smacked with a stick by the waif ~ so let's hope the pace of her storyline picks up a bit.
Bran's back! And the Children of the Forest chick (Leaf) seems to have gotten a nice makeover. Loved the vision/flashback of a young Eddard, BenJen and Lyanna. And Wyllis! (Hodor! Hodor! Hodor!) I like knowing Hodor's first name ~ not sure why.
You know, just as soon as Jon Snow was stabbed to death, didn't we all think "Hey! Maybe Mellisandre the Red Witch can raise him from the dead?" Wonder why it took Davos so long to bring that up. Still ... glad it happened and have to say watching her wash off that hunky torso was nice. Wonder what everyone will think when they see him up and walking around? Are his Night's Watch vows done ... since he died?
You know, if I were the ruler of the Iron Islands, I'd probably have a sturdier bridge between two towers in my castle for use during gale force rainstorms. Just saying. And why didn't Balon have a kingsguard or something? Anyway ... looks like there will be some sort of showdown between Yara, Theon and Euron GreyJoy to see who will rule the Iron Born.

Some thoughts I was a little surprised to see Jon brought back to life so soon. I thought they would drag in out longer. LOVED Tyrion and the dragons. Theon said he is going home, but is that the Iron Islands or Winterfell? In the promo for next week, the Umbers say they brought Ramsey a "gift". What (who) might that be?

What is the cost of the rolling pin in American dollars?
I sent an e-mail on their contact page. I just did some pottery where the rolling pin would make a cool something. I would have to wait until fall to make anything.

I have one of her dinosaur rolling pins shipping is super fast, the rolling pin is cool, and her cookies are yummy! I might have to get a game of thrones one too... How much it is in dollars will depend on the exchange rate and your credit card. I order in euros with my no-fee card for the best price.

Thoughts on Episode 3 .... It looks as if they're going to drag out the Tower of Joy storyline for a while, it seems.... Oh well, at least Arya got her eyes back! (I was growing a bit bored with her blindly getting smacked with a stick for three weeks in a row.) I thought the scene between Tommen and the High Sparrow was interesting. I think the High Sparrow is skilled at manipulation and getting others to follow him .... and it looks (to me) that he sees Tommen as a (possible) future convert .... or at least a young man in need of guidance and influences other than just his mom. I'm missing Margaery .... I'm ready to see her back in action, in some form at least. Where's Bronn been? We haven't seen him yet this season, have we? Samwell! I'd missed him and Gilly ~ glad to see them again (though I can always live without barfing scenes). ALWAYS. I would totally play drinking games with Tyrion. Looks like next week (episode 4) we get to see Petyr Baelish/Littlefinger again ... such a weasel. I've decided that in a perfect world, Arya and Brienne would BOTH get to kill Ramsay at the same time ... one with Needle and the other with Oathkeeper.

Episode 4 3 different sibling reunions in this episode.
Tyrion trying to do what he does best in a tough crowd. Everything at King's Landing bores me.
Osha is brought back for all of 2 scenes. WTF? Can I ship Brienne and Tormund?
And Dany takes down the Dothraki with no help from dragons, just her bad ass self.

Brienne has a boyfriend ... Brienne has a boyfriend! (Well, an admirer at least) Loved loved loved how he was manfully eating his meat and wiggling his red eyebrows at her. The look on Dolorous Edd's face was classic! Just classic.
Sansa is sure coming into her own. From a sniveling scheming teenager in Season 1 to a woman to be reckoned with in Season 6. Nice.
When will people learn not to screw with Daenerys if they know what's good for them? Stormborn and Unburnt ~ you go, Girl! That was an awesome ending ... especially since I was a bit bummed about Osha.
As for Ramsay killing Osha ... my one consolation is that it was fast for her ... he didn't flay her alive or let his dogs eat her. And it was nice to see that excellent actress come back and have a few last episodes and scenes.
Jon Snow's man bun sort of annoys me. That is all.
Nice to see Petyr Baelish the scheming weasel back. I would like to toss him through the Moon Door for setting Sansa up with Ramsay, but my feelings are mitigated by the fact that he murdered Joffrey.
I think Tyrion's doing his bet to rule Mereen with Dany gone. If nothing else, he is buying time and if he can at least temporarily stop the Sons of the Harpy from rampaging and murdering, that's good.
I feel sorry for Theon, but I'm still mad that he murdered those two boys and killed a lot of others. But maybe he can be of some help to Yara.
I like Margaery's grandma ... she's feisty and devious. And I like Margaery. And we sure haven't seen much of Jamie ... just one short scene tonight. Is Bronn gone, or what?
Good episode.
(Brienne has a boyfriend ... Brienne has a boyfriend) ....

Be careful ~ for the internet is dark and full of spoilers.... Tonight's episode of Game of Thrones leaked early and some people are watching it online and talking about it. If you don't want spoilers, stay off GoT fan pages. (Of course I watched it)

I just lost this show so much! I got HBO Now just so I can keep up with it. Ugh. And I want Dragons so bad. Heck, I'd be with Danyareous to have these Dragons! I spelled that wrong without a doubt. Emilia Clarke is <3

Wow. Episode 5 ... just, wow.
I was in tears in the scene between Dany and Jorah when she orders him to find a cure. I hope this isn't the last we see of him.
I'm crushed that they killed off Hodor, Summer (the wolf), the Three-Eyed Raven, AND Leaf (one of the children of the forest) all in one scene ... Hodor! Hodor! Hodor!
Sansa is sure grown up and coming into her own .... though I'm not sure why she lied to Jon and company about what she learned about Blackfish. In any event, she did a marvelous job standing up to Petyr Baelish at Mole's Town.
I did enjoy Brienne's comment about Jon being brooding and then said "and that Wildling with the beard" LOL! Yes, Tormund was still making googly eyes at her.
I'm glad that Yara and Theon escaped getting murdered by Euron Greyjoy.
I suspect the Red High Priestess will be a problem in future episodes ... but this was great fun to watch tonight. At some point, there's only so much that they can do with Varys and Tyrion, Grey Worm and Missendei "administrating" with Dany gone ... so this was nice.
Wonder if Arya will assassinate the actress, or not. I suspect she's willing to kill people for a good reason, but less willing to kill people just because some has paid for it.

Also, I usually zone out during the opening credits, but today I noticed that when they show Winterfell, there is a flayed man sigil laying on top of one of the spinning gears. Anyone notice how long that's been there?

This week's episode, while entertaining as always, felt like a bit of a letdown tonight.
We've been waiting since pre-season teasers gave us a glimpse of a showdown on the steps of the Great Sept with Jaime Lannister and the High Sparrow, and that fizzled away like a firecracker in the rain. When you're expecting a big battle and there isn't one ... it feels a bit anti-climatic. Margaery is a smart one ... my guess is that she's pretending a false conversion and manipulating her husband as well as the High Sparrow. Time will tell.
There wasn't even a big confrontation between Samwell Tarly and his mean dad, Randyll. Sure, his dad was a mean jerk (which we already knew) and he was rude and told Samwell he had to leave ... but that wasn't really surprising in any way. Heck, the fact that he was willing to raise what he thought was Samwell's bastard son and give a job (albeit in the kitchen) to Gilly was actually more than I would've thought. I completely understand Samwell leaving with Gilly ... but his taking the sword seems a bit out of character for him. After all, it was supposed to get passed on the the eldest son when Randyll died ... and he's not dead yet. Still, with Valyrian steel in short supply and White Walkers getting ready to swarm over the wall like the zombies in World War Z, having a nice sword like that is always a good idea.
I didn't think Arya would murder an actress just because someone paid for it ... she's too nice and idealistic for that. Her style is more like Brienne's ... she's willing to kill those who need killing or who deserve killing ... she's not the type to do it for cash. (She'd make a poor sell-sword, too, I suppose.) I am ready for her to either escape or kill the Waif ... and was disappointed that so much time was spent on watching another play when we could've already had that showdown.
Surprise, surprise, it was Benjen who saved Bran and Meera. That was one plot twist that I think most of us saw coming. I would like to know what the heck Benjen has been doing running around by himself (and a horse) for the last 5 seasons ... but I suspect we'll have to wait. Bran's warging flashbacks tonight really felt a lot like filler ... sort of a placeholder until something else happens.
Cersei isn't holding my interest these days. She doesn't have enough position and power to be running around wreaking havoc ... and by now her "not so secret" romance with Jaime is getting a bit ho hum and old. I think Jaime could do better ....
Dany already had the Dothraki following her because she walked out of fire.... I'm not sure tonight's episode of flying in on the dragon did much except to let the CGI people show off their stuff. It sort of felt like a place filler, too. A majestic and rousing and really cool place filler, to be sure.
Previews ... yay, it looks like Bronn is back. I am ready for more of Jon, Sansa, Brienne, and Tyrion .... maybe next week?

I'm just happy Arya is no longer no one I think she'll be safe as long as her direwolf is out there with her pack. The episode was pretty slow tonight. I also think Margery is a smart, calculating girl, I have no idea where they'll be taking that storyline though. I hate that they only have 10 episodes a season, there are so many things to cover! Good for Sam.

George R.R. Martin sure like it when people stab the Starks, doesn't he? So .... who is going to show up and help a bleeding Arya? Are Yara and Theon in Bravos? What about Jorah Mormont? Or the actress she saved? I was a bit disappointed that she let her guard down and the Waif got the best of her ... I was hoping for Arya to pull out Needle and stab the Waif .... oh well. Cersei seems really underutilized this season. Margaery is doing a great job playing her part. I hope she gets the best of the High Sparrow in the end. I thought Lady Mormont was a hoot. I'm not really into the whole Blackfish siege storyline. Maybe Brienne will show up and make things more interesting? So ... are Meera and Bran still ice fishing and camping with Uncle Benjen? Wonder what Tyrion is up to ... he's one of my favorite characters and I love his snark.

Arya will survive and add a name to the list! I'm not sure where she'll go, or who she'll trust, but she has to survive :/
The first 30 seconds of the show... I knew it!

Some thoughts on tonight's episode ... in no particular order:
Dany showing up and walking in having been dropped off by Drogon was pretty cool, but it didn't really fill me with any specific emotion ... I just thought "I'm glad she's back .... this storyline had been dragging on for too long."
Speaking of storylines that outlived my patience ... the waif is dead! The waif is dead! Ding dong The Waif is dead! I was so tired of Arya sweeping and training and getting smacked around by her ... I am relieved that this story arc is done. But ... after having this go on an on forever ... we don't even get to SEE Arya kill her? Really!?!? I feel like I've been short-changed. I am sorry that Lady Crane who was trying to help her was also killed ...
Edmure Tully ... you know, the actor who plays him (Tobias Menzies) plays a weasel I loathe in Outlander, and it's pretty easy to just picture him in Game of Thrones as another weasel I loathe. It's not like he's a Ramsay Bolton or Joffrey, but I still can't separate the two shows and the two characters and him turning on the Blackfish just seemed a bit ... weaselly.
The Brienne scenes were all stellar ... and the ones with Bronn and Podrick were a joy, too. I'm glad Brienne got away (and that Jaime let her.)
Uh oh ... Cersei's plan was to demand trial by combat and have her FrankenKnight squoosh her opponent. I doubt she will fare as well in a trial before 7 grouchy Septons. Maybe she'll just have FrankenKnight kill the High Septon before the trial? During the trial?
So .... is Bran just hanging around in the snow with Meera and Benjen? How cool that the White Walker army seems to be patiently waiting for the upcoming Battle of the Bastards to actually DO anything else, right? Do you suppose they will EVER give us a big reveal about the Tower of Joy?
So ... Sansa wrote for help ... and presumably it will arrive for the next episode?
So ... after a mass killing in episode one, is the Dorne storyline just completely over with?
A good episode ... clearly building up to what comes next. Tyrion teaching others how to drink wine and tell jokes was fun.

In addition to the above...
The first scene with The Hound was like a B-horror movie, I laughed and I liked it. The second scene with him was better, and I enjoyed him taking the boots.
Arya is back! I actually liked the way she killed the light, the waif helped her learn to fight blind, but should have practiced fighting blind herself, I guess.
I liked this episode--not a ton of action, but good.
