All the constant complaints on other threads is depressing. Misery loves company and I’m making a resolution to stay off them. Too bad there isn’t a delete the entire thread choice!!!

It looks like by Sunday we will be back to "normal" temps for at least two weeks in January, which is awesome!

My neighbors have been dropping off warm clothes and blankets for me to donate with my mats. I have delivered 2 carloads full (and I drive an Acadia!), and I have at least another ready.
And a neighbor asked me if I could teach her how to prep bags for the mats. Her MIL has Alzheimer's and they need an activity to keep her occupied. Popping holes in bags is super easy. I sent the neighbor home with a box of brand new bags that had been donated for her MIL to work on. Win for everyone all around ♡

Today I'm thankful for a warm house and no need to go anywhere until the ice melts!

I’m thankful that it’ll warm up soon and hopefully stay that way. I still have heat but some areas don’t. I should have gotten up and worked out since I was up early but will stay in warm bed and play on phone until I go Volunteer.

14-Year-Old Raised Enough Money To Send 1,000 Girls To See ‘A Wrinkle In Time’One little girl just pulled off a big feat. Taylor Richardson, 14, created a GoFundMe page in November 2017 with the hopes of raising $15,000 to send 1,000 other girls to see a screening of the upcoming film “A Wrinkle in Time.” As of Friday, she had raised more than $18,000. Richardson wrote that she chose “A Wrinkle in Time” because the movie’s main character is played by a young black actress, Storm Reid: “A brown girl front and center who looks like me in the role of Meg, a girl traveling to different planets and encountering beings and situations that I’d never seen a girl of color in.” “Most impressive and importantly,” Richardson added, “it’s a fantasy film that is not about some white boys fighting evil, but about a black girl overcoming it.” Richardson is no stranger to achieving big things at a young age. She was named one of Teen Vogue’s 21-under-21 in 2017 after she launched another GoFundMe campaign that raised thousands of dollars to send more than 800 girls to see “Hidden Figures” last year ― and helped inspire multiple similar efforts. Add the USPS to the good guys. 4-Year-Old Bakes and Sends a Birthday Cake to Her Mom in HeavenIt has been two years since Bella Graham lost her mom, Jessica, to a sudden illness. But that's not stopping the 4-year-old from celebrating her mother's birthday and sending a cake to heaven. Bella’s grandmother, Laura Fisher, told Mom.me that Bella started expressing concern about a month ago that her mom wouldn't have a birthday cake in heaven. "She was becoming stressed about it, so I decided to tell her we could mail a cake to her (mom) in heaven," Fisher said Fisher, a baker in Edgewater, Florida, made a small two-tier cake (one was red velvet and the other was vanilla) with Bella. The grandmother decided to go to the post office the week before she planned to "mail it" and explain the situation to the staff, who were happy to accommodate. On Monday, the grandmother-granddaughter duo boxed up the cake (complete with some flowers drawn on by Bella) and took it to the post office, where workers opened a special line for people shipping to heaven only. They stamped the box and guaranteed her cake would arrive before her mother's birthday. Fisher told WESH News that Bella was so happy that her mom was going to have a birthday cake and a party. Don't you wish there was a "restore" button for your memory. A "refresh" button for your skin and body. And, a "delete cookies" from your hips and thighs?

I’m grateful I have the energy to deep clean my aunts house. She’s not up to it and my uncle either doesn’t see the filth or just can’t do it either. Of course my once a year visit doesn’t keep it clean but while I’m here...

Nice story. Decades after woman finds baby buried alive in shallow grave, the 2 reuniteLOS ANGELES - In 1998, a jogger found a newborn baby buried alive in the foothills of Altadena, his umbilical cord still attached. The baby, not more than a few hours old, hovered near death. For decades, Azita Milanian would wonder what happened to the boy after he recovered at a Pasadena hospital and was put up for adoption. This week, 20 years to the date of when she found him, the pair were reunited. "I was waiting for you for 20 years," a tearful Milanian said as she hugged Matthew Whitaker. It was a reunion that came about in an unlikely way, after a friend's mom wrote into the KIIS FM radio station explaining Whitaker's story and asking for a 23andMe DNA kit so he could learn more about his ancestry. Whitaker agreed to take the test and have the results revealed during the "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" program. When one of the show's producers read a 1998 Los Angeles Times story of Milanian finding him, she decided to try and reunite them.
