The other day I got a third check in the mail as part of a class action lawsuit. That's the third check over about a 6-year period. Altogether, I think I've gotten like $600 from the three checks. This one was a little over $100 and is the last one. But, I wasn't even expecting this one. So it's all good!

This thread is much too neglected. I just realized that it is Thursday and I have not spent a cent going out to lunch this week. I have either brought lunch from home or made PB&J and eaten it at my desk.

I was in Manhattan for the weekend and I got a parking spot on the street! More than 48 hours of parking. I must have saved at least $75. Probably more.

Is the parking garage state and city sales tax still around 18% for non-Manhattan residents? Yes. It's insane! I drove into Manhattan for work one time instead of taking PATH. I could not believe what I paid in sales tax just to park in a garage. That was in 1991 and I believe at that time I paid like 28% sales tax. Fortunately, I could expense it.

Yeah, Tenn. I thought that was very expensive, but we were in the heart of the city and the garage was next to our hotel. We walked everywhere and did not need the car until we drove home.
Before we left home, I did an analysis of flying versus driving and added in the cost for parking the car near the hotel. Paying for parking was cheaper than flying into Chicago. It was not a bad drive into the city, but we did get lost trying to find our hotel because of all the one-way streets.

I also put this on the drunk posting thread in EE, but it was so nice it bears repeating. Last night, about 10 minutes before midnight, DS1 calked from Singapore to count down the new year with me . He knows what I think about the year(s) to come and wanted to keep me company. I have said it before -> I have really good "kids"

Speaking of NYE, did anyone with an iPhone text another iPhone user with just the words Happy New Year? It made the phones explode with fireworks graphics. It was so fun!
But on a more adult note, I bought a new crockpot. The old one broke and was too big for one person anyway. I made a delicious chicken dish with veggies and brown rice that is enough for three more meals.

I finally found a great hair stylist in my new location. My cut had become unruly and my hair was suffering under two applications of box color.
I look so much better now! To celebrate, I had a nice lunch at a restaurant overlooking the ocean.
So, two nice things, I guess.

In the midst of all the devastation, I saw a wild rabbit. It's nice to know they're coming back. I hope to see large red-eared sliders soon. I will stop the mail truck, take mail going to the recycle plant, and pick them up. I carry them across the road so they don't get run over.

My sister-in-law ordered a new down Land's End coat for me on her account and with her credit card. We hit a 40% off sale and I owe her $199.19 for the coat. I've been looking for 3 years for a good winter down coat.

The grass is dead, and brown. Trees are dying. All around me is devastation. I can look up, and the sky is blue.

Wouldn’t it be nice if for one day, no one could say anything mean and nasty on the forum? Just nice things in the news or about others.

Burlington Coat Factory send me a $8.61 follow-on store credit from a class action lawsuit. I haven't been back there since I spend $24.87 out of $25 of the previous store credit. Going to see if they have some onesies or something for DGS1 for around that amount

I had an boss give me a Starbucks gift card for helping him with a project this year at the last minute. I don't go to Starbucks often so its lasted a while. After I bought my coffee and pastry, I had $0.74 left on the card so that I let the person next in line use it.

I answered the question "what is in your bag of good intentions" with Biblical scripture. A bit intense with the what love is, what to think about and personality traits to avoid.

My Jadenu medication got delivered early enough this morning that I could take the new dosage that's been prescribed to me.

I actually had two landscapers show up when four others are just no shows. Now I’m waiting for bids and plans.
