The Cabin In The Woods - 2011 Chris Hemsworth

so err... don't waste your time! I didn't like it! I mean -...what I didn't like about it? well it is a different kind of slasher, killer twist of a movie. It does have a few recognizable movie actors in it, including Sigourney Weaver! yea I know right! Actually I was going to give The Cabin In The Woods an ok until I saw the ending and that, the ending I felt ...nah bad movie!

Big Fish - possibly the most Tim Burton of Tim Burton movies. Makes me cry every time, but I do love it. Great music too.

The Babysitters - 2007 John Leguizamo

DISGUSTING!!

I just could NOT get into these cheating men! These men are so sick and need serious help. Shaking my head like are you fucking kidding me! I felt horrible and disgusted. maybe because just turning 41 I think I'm in the age group of these guys. even the ending was bad. like a cliff hanger - but cliff hangers are there to promote the second movie. there is no second movie to this and I don't like when movies leave it up to the audience imagination for a conclusion. and if there is a part two - I ain't watch'n it!

Powder Blue - 2009 Jessica Biel,

it is ok! these four lives story or partial story is told. Drama movie yes! maybe if GF watched it with me it could have been better, but it was just ok. I did like how 3 of the story lines interacted. The ending is a good ending. I just don't care for Forest Whitaker as an actor. lots of actors I recognize. first time I've seen Jessica Biel look ....unattractive?

it's Barbara Stanwyck night on TCM. Just finished watching Double Indemnity, and The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is next. Two of my favorites. She's at her evil best in both!

watched Nick of Time this morning. Good flick, but some of it was predictable due to type casting. GD Spradlin has played a bad guy so often that we KNEW he was part of the murder plot as soon as we saw him.

oh well. Can't type cast him any more (he's dead)

The Dark Knight Rises (Batman Episode) - 2012 Christian Bale

well it's NOT an action movie for sure. There is so much talk and story line - though good story line - I consider this to be a Drama. we did not see in theaters cause the movie is so long, like close to 3 hours long. I was far too tired to watch when we started the movie and got 20 minutes into it and went to bed. Woke up just when it ended and GF was saying how she liked it. Then she watched it again with me and I kept pausing asking - what? LOL
guess I just could not get into the movie. it was difficult to see Batman lose a fight that bad. it was difficult to understand Batman over came a broken back. it was sad to see what happened to Bruce Wayne. It was a little disturbing how many people just figured out that Bruce and Batman are same; but Gordon didn't figure it out!

crazy stuff happening - but it's a drama and I think the movie is ok?

Jack Reacher - 2012 Tom Cruise

Good movie!! I went to see this movie because I thought it was all action - NO! it's a crime drama. Maybe I should pay closer attention to the commercials? But from the commercials I though it was an action! YEA! Commercials show the hot muscle car he was driving and I only saw the fight scenes! so I thought it was an action movie. Well anyway - it's a drama with a great storyline. Bonus the story is slow enough and simple enough I was able to follow it!

it's got it all great story line, action, fight scenes, cars, and chase scene. ehh no sex.
but this movie is great for me and if I still had friends like I used to I would go and see this movie a second time with them.

New Years Eve - 2012 All Star cast

I knew this movie has a lot of big to small star actors and actresses. it's a pretty good movie. I was thinking who is funding this movie to have so many star appearances. LOL
it's enjoyable to see how the lives play out on New Years Eve with a good ending, not much of a surprise ending but a good ending.

Z - New Year's Eve was decent. My problem was that there were so many story lines. I rarely sit and watch a movie at home (usually doing some things around the house at the same time). So I had a tough time keeping up.

I discovered a new English film called The Royal Paintbox.  It looks like an interesting documentary of artwork overtime.  I am going to suggest this to my cinema group.

Fast & Furious 6 - 2013 Vin Diesel

Of Course I went first night! (actually that weekend!)
you know how a movie franchise will go past 3 movies and they just get worse and worse? sometimes the second is not as good as the first. I think the Terminator and Die Hard franchise has done pretty good.

Well lets add Fast & Furious to the list! Six movies in and episode six is pretty good. definitely movie 6 is better than movie 5! the story line gets a little confusing as they explain the history between one through five. I did enjoy the story line and the action. I so did like that Gina Carano (Riley) got her part. She is a real fighter that went into movies. of course she has only done these great fight scenes in the movies she has been in. I told my dad that is the only reason the girl fight scene was so intense. not that I have a choice but I will be making my Blu-Ray purchase as soon as six is available. (I have not purchased F&F 5, but will once 6 is out)

Now You See Me - 2013 Woody Harrelson

Great movie and enjoyed every minute! sure I do like magic and magic tricks. Cast and story line does work for me. Usually when magic tricks are explained how they were pulled off to fool everyone. I am usually discouraged or disappointed, however this time I found it all entertaining! Even when explaining how they did certain tricks I found it very cleaver how they pulled it off. Got a little confused when explaining certain trick, of course I just asked GF and I was back on track!

Dark Skies - 2013 J K Simmons

what a great movie!! Alien abduction in todays modern times and not in some off the map small town! info on Netflix packet reads like a comedy - family is visited by aliens and have a struggle to have their family, friends, and neighbors believe! but it's so real to life that it's true. you can't get other people to believe and the movie shows how the mother saw first and tried to get the husband to believe. of course he didn't until he saw, well he didn't at first and second, LOL and third time evidence was brought to him until he finally was able to believe it's aliens! they got cops and family looking at their kids unexplained marks on their body! parents know they didn't do it! kids saying they don't know how they got the marks or what they called are bruises.

GF and I talk after watching a slasher horror flick and say what does the survivor tell the family for one, and police? yea I was the only one that survived this mad man going around killing everyone!
just great! now it's bed time!

I just finished watching the movie Dark Skies again, but with GF this time and she is say not as...... impressed/enthusiastic  as I am. But she did/does like the movie.

Iron Man 3 - 2013 Robert Downey Jr

This is a good third episode. After seeing the first two I thought I would not like a third. but I did like this movie. Tony Stark is such an ass! LOL the bonus part is the comedy in the movie. I think that is why I do like it. I'm not into the comic books and I don't know if the Mandarin is part of the comic book series but he is a pretty good villain, or human villain; meaning no special powers. I watched this movie twice in theaters, and seemed a bit too long, but the comedy parts did get me to laugh.

Star Trek Into Darkness - Absolutely awesome for trekkies and non trekkies alike. As a trekkie I think I get a bit more out of it understanding what they were pulling from the original and how they were fleshing it out.

Monsters University - Really good. You think there is going to be the typical fairy tale ending and they change it up on you in a fantastic way. Turns into it's own morality play without being at all preachy.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - 2012 Steve Carell

yea tear jerker! same reaction I had after watching Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vagas. The movie tells you what is going to happen in the end throughout the movie. so during the movie I got involved and interested in the characters. the actors are very good and both movies are actually slow. during this movie, I was a bit bored at times, thinking ok I get it! move on already! but then, now it's the end of the movie and I had tears!

Identity Thief - 2013 Melissa McCarthy

for one glad I didn't see this in theaters. It's close to a 2 hour movie and it really could have been a 45 minute movie. there are funny parts. But they exaggerated and stretched the movie out to the point we really didn't need to get all up in Diana business and how she became to steal people identity. As for Sandy I did feel bad for him, having his identity stolen and seeing the police response! SCARY!! LOL
But then again from the police point of view as the cop kept saying hey I'm just doing my job and I am not stupid, I know you are not the one committing these crimes, but your name keeps coming up and we have to investigate. Which is why I felt bad for the character Sandy. I have not thought of my identity being stolen and police actually come to my job to arrest me!

The Details - 2011 Kerry Washington

different? maybe? the husband gets raped (by a woman not a man), there is a murder and no one is caught, the ending I didn't see coming (GF may/would/could have figured out the ending but I didn't see that), extortion with a twist that surprised me with a really good message, and first time sex between long term friends of course goes bad, and the second worse insult said about a woman I've ever heard in my life!
I do like this movie. no action, and not really a chick flick, but I would say a drama.

Safe - 2012 Jason Statham

I could have and wanted to see this in theaters! Action and plenty of it. Cops doing what they normally do best - corruption of course. Politics with the Mayor, and scandal with close door secrets, and some blackmail. The best blackmail, hold over your head to pay back your debt I've ever seen! Like wow new concept for me any way - LOL. Also noticed how the gun fights were on point with shooting their intended target by the good and bad guys with few bullets. Of course Luke took one shoot to hit his target and well there are no good guys in this movie; there all bad guys! LOL

World War Z - 2013 Brad Pitt

After my dad confirmed this is in fact a Zombie movie I went out to see it. I do like my Zombies!
(Yes Peach I purchased the Zombies don't like fast food T-Shirt as well)
though it's typical and I thought I was used to seeing the hero turn down the mission when it's brought to him. But this time I got upset (at first) because I don't know what did Gerry expect? Either you accept our mission or you get thrown back to the Zombies! and his wife Karen was like no don't go! but then they realized yea it is for the best for Gerry to go, I felt better. and I tell ya - this movie once the action started it kept going, even the talking parts were entertaining! I've noticed that even the heroes are being killed these days in shows and movies. Nobody is safe. I think the ending was a bit of a twist because usually Zombie movies all end the same? oh and I don't like fast moving Zombies! that is just creepy! -LOL
(thinking about my PS3 games with fast, running Zombies are very tough to kill - LOL)

Pain & Gain - 2013 Mark Wahlberg

the commercials had my attention from the beginning as this should have been a very funny comedy. Currently this was the last time I put my trust into what I see on commercials! LOL This was the last time so far I will be let down to go out a see a movie in theaters thinking it's going to be about one thing and turns out and goes into a different direction! I didn't know first off this is based off a true story! The movie is so unbelievable - it's like saying the movie The Thing (with Kurt Russell) is based off a true story. Plus during the movie, more towards the end they flash words across the screen "this is still based off the true story". My brother and I just started laughing, but not from the humor, but from how being that fucking stupid they actually got so far in stealing all that money? Then at the very end of the movie they show the 3 real life body building criminals the movie storyline is based off. But thinking about it now - yea I can see this can happen, actually happen. so it starts off with a bit funny, but as the movie goes on and it turns not so funny, and a bit dark, then gets serious like a drama.

Spring Breakers - 2012 Selena Gomez

Didn't like it. it's slow and appears to be like a documentary. Most of all I am left confused about the storyline. I am not sure what this movie is about. So I looked at three different references, and appears no one else knows what this movie is about. I first checked Internet Movie Database and the first sentence is at first I thought was a lie, but then reading it again ok yea 4 girls do go to jail but NOT for robbing a restaurant. Then I read the cover on Netflix and felt that was a total lie describing scenes that just didn't happen, (maybe there is an uncut version where these scenes do happen?), then I read on PS3 Network and got 3 third opinion of what this movie is about. So my guess is no one really knows - LOL
Normally when a drug dealer gets pretty girls out of jail he's not looking out for their best interests. Here! this dude lets 2 of the 4 girls go home! at first request, no problems, their Spring Break is over, the girls felt they were not having fun anymore and dude said ok fine bye. there are other questions of his behavior that come up that I just don't know about and he gets killed while doing some really stupid shit with the last 2 girls and they didn't get killed!
