Two recent DVD rentals I really enjoyed and would recommend:
"Never Let Me Go" (2010) "Blue Valentine" (2010)
Both deal with the complicated nature of relationships in rather unique ways - not your usual Hollywood fluff.

I have just seen the most terrifying movie ever made. It is called, " The Black Swan." You have been warned. Hmmm.....it's on the list!! But it's down low on the list for Net Flix.....

I just sent back Machete - I liked it gave it 4 of 5 stars However I would NOT recommend it! It's an acquired taste of a movie. like along the lines of a little movie called Shoot Em Up! I purchased that for home collection. Shoot Em up is 100% ridiculous!! ;D for example in Machete people can NOT hold a shot gun in in hand...but this one character was accurately firing a sawed off shot gun one in EACH hand! OH BOY - YEAH RIGHT!!! LOL

Trust me. Don't save this for netflix and don't let any of your children see it. I hid my face through half the movie. Never did I imagine what was going to happen to the girl with the pretty room and the nice stuffed animals. I got caught off guard because another movie that I had planned to see turned me away so I cashed in a movie pass and saw this one. Brilliant, but disturbing. oh! sounds like I'm still interested to see Black Swan. I know it a dark movie. which is why I think I will like it. I think it's along the lines of a movie called Vanilla Sky

Ah yes, Black Swan. From the man who made a horror movie about a number which also taught the least safe way to repair a blown fuse and cure a headache. I still remember my direct quote as I left Requiem for a Dream "wow that director can make you feel anything he wants you to, but why would he make you feel THAT?"

LOL I Think it was Pale Rider where Clint Eastwood played a Preacher! he was talk'n to this YOUNG 17 or 19 year old girl! she said Preacher I think I love you?!! Preacher said -OK nuth-in wrong with that. if there was more love in the world maybe there would be less kill'n?!! She said well would you make love to me? Like mamma and pappa do? I died laughing! I'm laughing now! ;D

we watched Social Network over the weekend. Interesting story, but I really don't get the Oscar buzz about the movie. It was nothing special IMO watching The Public Enemy with Cagney right now. My kind of movie

AND THAT'S what he does! no fn talk'n! hey there is your first target - BANG! shot dead! .....witnesses out the ass! he didn't care! straight from being released from jail.....to the first murder!
can't fn stand it when they talk, and talk, and talk!! YO WTF! shot the guy already! whatcha wait'n 4!! ;D

Another good bad guy is a bad guy but he's a good guy and you want him to win......does that make since to you? -LOL well another good movie where the bad guy is the good guy is Payback. here is where a bad guy gets double crossed and all he wants is his share from the robbery. he doesn't get greedy, doesn't kill innocent people and only goes after the people needed.

Can you watch a movie that's in your profession? for example you're a police officer watching movies and /or TV shows like Lethal Weapon or Law and Order?
Or a Doctor and watch TV Show House?
I asked my doctor this and he doesn't like watching House.
what about have'n a career (not a job) as a Lawyer?
I think it's the police shows and movies that would be more like comic relief to the professionals. Cause to make a police subject interesting a gun is always used. I think most police officers would say I've never even unsnapped my latch to pull my gun.

as an Administrative Assistant I think it would annoy me to see in movies or TV. I couldn't have a favorite TV show or seriously like a movie to the point I would watch the movie over and over again? For example there is a commercial where this copy machine is shooting paper out? Then there is this guy and girl standing there (OH Dunkin Donuts Commercial) looking at the machine! the guy said I ain't go'n in there and the woman said I'm go'n in! this commercial goes straight to my nerves. I saw the movie The Devil Wears Prada and it was /is an OK movie but the assistant really got on my nerves!! Now I don't remember what else I didn't like about that one?

Depatures is a foreign Japanese film with subtitles. The story line is about the Japanese burial/casketing ceremony.
Quote from Cinema 100 Film Society brief review: "It is the insight inspiring Departures, the lovely Japanese movie that won this year's Oscar for best foreign film.
The story involves a young man who apprentices to the trade of "encoffinment," the preparation of corpses before their cremation. As nearly as I can recall, there is no discussion of an afterlife. It is all about the living. There is an elaborate, tender ceremony carried out before the family and friends of the deceased, with an elegance and care that is rather fascinating..."

Is Departures the movie where the apprentice was a cellist whose orchestra closed and had to find a new job? I very much enjoyed that film because of the sense of honor and integrity displayed that I see so seldom here.

No, if you are an admin there is only one movie to see--Drag Me to Hell. The scene where the heroine fights off the gypsy demon using office supplies cannot be missed. I added it to the list. I think I saw the movie? The cover looks familiar, but I have no memories.

watched Date Night on HBO last night. Some very funny moments. I guess the most recent really GREAT movies I can think of would be: Crash, House of Sand and Fog, The Smartest Guys in the Room, and Murderball. We did really enjoy the 2009 Star Trek movie and Get Smart was pretty good. Steve Carell was perfectly cast IMO. I like Daniel Craig as James Bond. if you like older movies, anything released in 1939 is a good bet. Best year for movies E V E R

I like most films. Mostly into documentaries, dramas, comedies, and horror. Dexter is my favorite Showtime series, well written and kinda humorous as well. Weird story line, but pretty much addictive and entertaining. My other fave show would be Crimes of the Heart starring Sissy Spacek, Jessica Lange and Dianne Keaton. My number one horror would be Carrie and Case 39. Oh, and then there is Kathy Bates Fried Green Tomatoes, Misery, and A Home of our Own.

that reminds me Kreepy - I have The Enron story documentary on the list. I'm dreading to watch it - but at the same time I want to know what happened. It's two hours of a gamble. Either I'll understand what the hell they are talking about (doubtful) and I'll learn and my questions will be answered. or I'll have wasted 2 hours of my life (most likely)
